Wemby is WAY ahead of schedule. I knew he had the talent and potential, but he's shown all season that he also has that dog in him. He really wants to be the best and it shows. Can't wait to see how he improves with a whole off season of NBA training.
Ahead of schedule of what? Last I check he’s still not playing full game minutes, still isn’t enough of a factor to translate to wins, which means when he does get on a playoff team, that will be more games which he already doesn’t play enough of. I mean I hope he fixes his injury proneness but it’s not looking good. Forget playoffs, can he play 60-70 games a year while avg at least 36mpg? I don’t think so.

No one expected him to be this good in his rookie season, in Rudy Goberts interview a few days ago he mentions that he didn’t expect wemby to adapt this fast In the nba ofc he’s still avg under 40 min but to pull of stats like that is still amazing. at the start of the season wemby couldn’t play a full fourth quarter but now, he’s playing some of his games a full fourth quarter while playing some games at OT/ Double OT. Ofc he’s still improving but this is a big improvement then how we first saw him start. Now the questions goes to whether he can play those 60-70 games like you mentioned, we won’t know till he does he has sprained his ankle and had to go on minutes restriction for a month and a half. We won’t know until next season, but I’m not one to doubt if he can stay healthy the sky’s the limit for him.

It felt like it. I was there and I keep saying I hadn't felt like that since '99 when I was also at the Memorial Day Miracle. Clearly not the playoffs or anything close but the energy and feeling was near the same level, just amazing.

Seems like the Spurs are turning the page early in their rebuild.. they‘re playing actual winning basketball in the last part of the season.
they are really a good team, pop hold them back because they need those lottery pick badly. they still need another wemby in guard/forward position.
@@bitcoin457 I dont think he was holding anybody back.. they were just figuring out what Wemby is. It was impossible to predict that he would SURPASS the insane expectations on every single level. His on-court production, his discipline, his love for the fanbase and the game, his incredible availability (considering he was playing in the french playoffs a few days before being drafted by the Spurs).. it took a minute to realize that he's now where the staff hoped he would be in ~2 years.
Don't wanna take anything away from them, they will be the future (if Wemby stays healthy and they'll get another good to great rookie, at the upcoming draft).
But: the refs were clearly on the side of them, too, that night.

I thought him and Wemby have looked very good on the court together too. Their both great passers for their positions and can shoot. Sandro seems to have a great sense of positioning too. I don’t know much about him defensively, but offensively at least he definitely seems like a solid NBA big
