You need to THROW OUT make up once it starts to SEPERATE, it means the chemicals added to bind the other ingredients has deteriorated meaning 1) it's very old and 2) shaking it won't work, it will just "look" like it's been remixed, as soon as you put it on your face it will separate again making it look patchy AF. Sorry sis🙀

i think when foundations separate it’s just chemicals and oils or whatever and it’ll probably be bad for your skin so i would throw it away if i was you x
yeah, you shouldn't wear foundations that are separated because they are probably out of date and there could be bacteria infested in there as stuff that has water and oil are great place for bacteria(from what I heard) x

If I had this much makeup I feel like a labelling machine would be great for putting opening dates on the makeup so that you would know how long it's been opened for 🤔 or is that just my ocd speaking

A sharpee would work too. I should start labeling mine as some I have no clue how old they are. I just do the sniff test and apply and hope for the best.

I use an app to keep track of expiration dates. It notifies me when something is expired. It can be time consuming to enter it all (you can add pictures!) but its so worth it!

the box of her makeup she gave up is literally how much makeup i own,,, and half of it is eyeshadow palettes. 😅
I literally own less makeup than that box. What I have the most of is chapsticks, lipsticks and maybe eyeshadow palettes. But I have only few eyeshadow palettes cus I never wear eyeshadow, only on special days/celebrations so I don't need 20 eyeshadow palettes. Plus on my country they cost a lot and people get payed here literally just to survive, to pay rents, food and just a little bit for entertainment so 🤷 shops like Sephora does not exist here (same with starbucks 😭😭😭)

I googled it about separating foundations and it said: once your liquid starts to separate, your cream thickens, or your compact color develops a rubbery aroma, its time to toss it. A couple of other websites I went on said the same thing and it’s harmful to your skin aha, sorry soph sad times :(

Someone’s already recommended the Body Shop to help with recycling, but in case you haven’t already see if any local foodbanks/charity collections to you accept make up! My local Waitrose has a separate bin for collecting toiletries donations, so there might be somewhere local to you that can take some things x

Yup😒. Try finding it for cool toned, very dry, fair skin with pink undertones... doesn't exist. At least not in an affordable segment or I would've seen it already.

@@kaidy2061 Wow! I've never heard of anyone else having the exact same shade and "texture". If you also have eczema, extreme sensitive and still acne prone skin (as in outbreaks of cystic acne on random moments) I'll hear the Stranger things tune😅.
Anyway: have you found the holy grail in foundation, concealer etc yet? Cause I haven't! I think I have 20 open bottles and tubes lying here. Every single one has at least one or two things wrong with them. The Essence Awake line actually was relatively decent for my skin, but the lightest shade was medium toned! And 2 new unopened bottles: Mac Face &Body - but actually too expensive for me so while I hope it's as good as they say, on the other hand I hope not. And that new Loreal fresh wear that everybody raves about.
*Good affordable tips are welcome*. It's ridiculous that I'm 42 and still haven't been able to find a decent foundation!! (Vichy had a great medium cover coloured day cream years ago that was perfect for me and took it out of production after a year. I seriously cried!)
My tip: I've started to wear more cream and liquid based products (predominantly the blush and highlighter since I've not found a good cream bronzer yet...the rest is limited too but I've heard I should look into Korean brands) and that has made a world of difference in how my makeup looks (natural) and how my skin feels (less dry). I still wear my powder stuff since I won't throw it away and some are simply awesome shades or products. And powder is so easy and fast to apply. But the difference is huge: I look good, but I'm wearing makeup with powder. With creams I simply look fresh and healthy and have lipstick on...if you understand what I mean. Can't find a good cream blush yet: lipsticks can be used on cheeks too ;).
Another tip: pure rosewater - the kind with which you can cook too. I use this to spray my face first thing after cleansing my face and then add day cream/ serums before makeup and use it after makeup as some sort of setting spray. It makes my makeup look fresher, but since rosewater is perfect for hydration and has some anti-inflammatory ingredients it'll make sure you have less irritation.
By the way, I clean my face with it too sometimes I double cleanse with rosehip seed or argan oil and then micellair water. But sometimes, if I am lazy and don't want to get up (you know, those lazy in bed movie nights and then discover you are still wearing makeup) I use the rosewater and rosehip on my nightstand with my serums instead of the argan and micellair water in the shower😅.
To be honest, my face loves that even more but pure rosewater isn't cheap and I already spray with it 2-3 times a day...in summer even more.
@@sharna.clarisex It's hard to get that in stores here, but I have found it online. Tip on shade? Peach Ivory? That sounds like it could be the right colour for me. Or is that too dark for a formerly freckled queen?

According to the beauty blender website you can just put your beauty blender into a recycling bin they are 100% recyclable as for other sponges I would assume so but I'm not sure

For the Beauty Blender, I would check with your local recycling to see if they recycle sponges. I know in the US, recycling is different from city to city (or county to county) and state to state. Where my parents used to live, everything went into one bin and then Waste Management (or a contracted company, not sure) would then recycle before things were dumped in the landfill (at least that's what the city claimed anyways). We have to separate our recycling from the rest of the trash, but we don't have to separate the recycling into individual categories (paper, glass, plastic, etc).
I read in a comment on another declutter video that some wildlife rescues may take the cleaned wands from mascara tubes. Apparently they help with the more delicate/detailed cleaning on some animals... something to look into.

I use old makeup sponges for glittery nail polish, just cut it into a bunch of small pieces, paint it with the polish, and dab on. Really makes the glitter more impactful!

i'm not sure whether it's still available but i think they always bring it back in different shades so ... i love the essence sun, sand, & golden rainbows bronzer and i'm as white as a wall.😂😂 you have to have a warmish undertone though, at least for my shade

Viickii Campbell I really enjoy her content but it’s clearly not a natural tan, hence why it does look orange. I’ve noticed the whiter you are , the worse you tend to be at noticing when a tan is clearly unnatural because of the tint

What I would recommend is every time you received products to look for what you are more interested in and put in your vanitiy and everything else keep separetly for giveaways, friends and family, shelters. Much more convenient and the products would not end up expiring in your drawers.

I completely understand how fake tan makes you feel more confident! I’m really pale myself, and it’s always been something that I feel self-conscious about. But I do feel like I can’t relate to you as much any more, as I started watching your videos when you didn’t fake tan and was so happy that I’d found someone who was like me. For those benefit cheek palettes you could've popped those shade pans out and switched em and then re-glued em down. It's just a little bit of glue that holds those in so there really easy to unstick if you run into a situation like that again! :)

It really helps to sort out stuff by category and take everything out :) so taking out all the foundations from all the drawers, then sort them out and then put them back in the drawer ☺️ so you actually have to touch everything and only take what you want :)

I love declutters. That yellow packaging Kiko bronzer looked nice. I've never tried Kiko before. I live in the US so I don't think it is too popular here. I think Ulta sells some of the brand though.

I completely agree with you about fake tan, I’m super pale naturally and don’t tan at all but I’ve never minded how pale I am. I decided to fake tan for my 20th birthday and I hated it but a couple weeks back decided to try it out again and I feel so much more confident with it on!!
