Ash, you create great content on both channels, you are natural presenter of your work and you don’t come across as arrogant or big headed, you come across as a mate sharing what you do, great photography and film making, your choice of music goes well with visual stuff.
You will obviously get jealous people having a go because you had the guts to do what you do, when those people are to scared to do it.

I found your channel when you were set up in your campers on the new property. That brutal winter. I was chuffed when you decided to post your S2 journey north and have been watching every episode as it is posted. I also did a recent binge of the magical Ambol-east series. I think the answer to your question about where to put your various content is PLAYLISTS. You could have a master playlist for each channel. I personally enjoy all your content. You're a creative and detail-oriented handy guy with a very laid-back vibe. It makes for interesting yet relaxing entertainment and I'm grateful for it.
For me Ash I was drawn to your channel as you arrived to your homestead and was stoked on the combo of winter/DIY van life and homestead/winter DIY almost budget survivalist style content. Channel is at a point where I know your story now and enjoy you, how the homestead progresses and just mucking about in silly cold weather keeping alive and comfortable. (I follow channels like Free Range Sailing (I'm aussie), Sampson Boat Co., Thorton Hundred, Project Brupeg, Free Range Living, RoKKit Kit, ARiemann1 and other adv bike channels) to kind of give you an example. So your van builds, solo camps, through to home electrical/fireplace, snow plowing, all of it kind of fits into my bag of amusment :) I'm sure many other guys of similar taste also just enjoy taking a peak and what you get up to in general.
For what it is worth, I watched all your early videos as I could relate to them (single bloke in a camper though part time) but did not take up the Patreon option as there was so much stuff on CZcams I saw no need however I am enjoying watching your recent releases. You obviously make a time commitment for each video for little monetary reward, but it is appreciated by those who watch no matter the number. These days there is a proliferation of videos available & maybe your early subscribers are spoiled for choice however I will continue to watch what you put out. Cheers

For what it's worth, I'm very new to the channel and enjoying both the van and homestead stuff. Not only because it's all interesting but it's beautifully filmed as well. I love the musical interludes with the gorgeous photography shots, they're very meditative. And as you've said a few times, I'm one of the people who is very very unlikely to ever be able to see this in real life. No idea how disabled Swedish people manage in winter, presumably they're housebound?!

There is something special about the videos that are most close to real life time. I don't know why. I noticed myself being most happy about a video on CZcams, when the content is very close to that person's real life time. I believe that might be the reason you had few views on the old trip. Because it was old stuff. As in, not close to you, now. I bet all the money that if the videos were Live transmision, you would have had lots of views. It happened to me regarding other channels, in the beginning I watch a person because I search for an information, like 'how to do that', and then, if the person himself is quite lovely and has a good vibe, I end up watching his/her channel, because I like the person, as the main reason, and the content of it becomes the reason number two. I think your viewers could be of two types maybe? The ones who click to see an info and leave, and the ones that stick around, because of you. Us in the second category, we don't really care that much what you film, we find peace and tranquility in watching you. Because honestly, you have SUCH a calm vibe as a person, you are so peaceful and sincere. Maybe this CZcams thing is not only about information exchange, maybe is about us humans enjoying one another, loving and connecting to each other. I really love you (as well your other half). On your trips with your van, where ever you choose to go. I also like to follow you when you ate "at home" Struggleing with the weather in northern sweden, and the annoying mosquitos. What would be interresting to hear is, how do you isolate a camper when you build it yourself so it can stand the cold climate. Foam, would that work.

For sure, most People come into your Channel because of the, in a way, unique and special way your work had at the time.

Can I just say thank you for sticking out the old videos. I’ve watched you from the start but didn’t pay for patroen which I know is crazy when paying £20 or whatever for sports channels and alike. But I guess I just can’t get my head round it and if I pay for one then you start paying for another and so on. Which is my problem. So anyway thank you
I never expected anyone to join patreon to be honest, it was more like a "way out" for me and it really worked. Much better place now in general and am happy to be back sharing stuff on youtube 😊

I'm here on all platforms! I think a lot of the issue is, when you started mate, people genuinely just watched videos they liked now, not everyone but a large percentage of people, are only interested in videos with some click bait title or image, about how something has gone wrong when in fact, it hasn't. What I'm trying to say is, I think CZcams has changed but because you keep it true to who you are, you get left behind. Hope that makes sense.

Ash. As you know I like whatever content you put out so maybe I am a bit biased. You produce amazing videos accompanied spot on music. You also so relaxing to listen to and I agree with all the comments about your lack of ego etc and your openness, honesty and integrity. I was gutted when you pulled away from youtube to focus on patreon and followed you there as it is affordably priced for those of us who are on an extremely tight budget. I wish I could pay more than I do and feel a bit guilty for what I get in return. Mate your content has massively calmed my screaming mind and I have learned some new things as well. Anyway babbling as usual, just keep on being you!!

Have enjoyed the vids of your trip out and no issue with paid subscription, £1 is not a problem to help cover some of your costs. It's great to see the evolution of your adventure / travel and new life in Europe. I would say just post what you enjoy, where you think it best fits the audiance. Ironically i dont watch much on the Paetron site, so enjoyed the season 2 on YT and its nice to escape the everyday to see what you doing. Lived on a farm for almost 14 years and definatly missing the open space you have. Great alternative window and be good to see that lightbar once the darkness returns!

Baffles me why the Chinese don't capitalise on this market it's a crazy world when you think of all the plastic packaging but yeah making a reasonably priced window nah 300 quid or something, horse box windows seems to work ok.

Yea there's a few horse box ones that are reasonably priced. The only thing for me though is I didn't really want glass. After having that in my old van it's not much fun in the winter with 5cm of ice growing on the inside 🤣

Your highest viewed videos had more views thab you have subscribeers, therefore as a result of CZcams promoting your videos and you have very good looking thumbnails.
Given those who appear to be in charge not wanting use to own our own car in the future, perhaps that's why other vanlife channels have suggested lower earning over the past two plus years.
With many doing the same as yourself and Marie, settings up a small holding, which I can see the appeal. Although I would ve more along the lines of food production in the Netherlands with greenhouses, reducing the amount of effort required and an extended growing season. Interesting to see Marie's Volkswagen T4 van take shape as I do gravitate towards Volkswagens due to their higher values and parts availability in the UK.
P.s. given the videos were filmed in the past, comments of advice becomee irrelevant and you don't feel as connected to the story. We're not in the period at the moment, not anticipating the next view into your life. For instance your MacBook Pro broken, there is no, "i hope you get it fixed soon" "that's ruddy awful luck Ashleigh" its in the past, you've resolved it. Hope that gives you a possible insight into how other may experience your past video's.
I think you’ll find that the channel isn’t as popular as before because of the lack consistency of posting the videos. If I was you I’d run the CZcams channel a month behind the patron channel and share everything across both platforms that way the patreons are a month ahead which is the benefit of being a Paterson and the CZcamsrs will be a month behind but it’ll be consistent which will make the difference I think. if it stops and starts all the time people just lose interest because, irrationally, even though you don’t pay for it, you’re still a fan and you don’t want to be watching anything inconsistent, makes you feel like a commodity when actually all we want to do is get our daily fix even if it’s a month behind 🤣- hope that helps 👍👍

I think your issue with regards to viewing numbers is simply a case of how you decided to run your channel. You built up 40k+ subscribers and then decided to basically stop your CZcams channel and forced people to pay to watch you. This p*ssed a lot of people off, I would guess. Now you’ve come back to CZcams like nothing happened. It’s essential you keep content on CZcams when using Patreon. CJ will end up having exactly the same issue when he inevitably comes back. Rookie mistake by you both.
I actually gained all of those subscriptions long after starting the patreon page, almost a year in fact. I was still posting things to youtube. As I said, people will create their own reality 🤷♂️
I'm jumping to Ash's defence here, He went to patrion cause of assholes giving him unnecessary agro. As for forcing people to pay to watch...no one was forced. People are only getting angry because their free to watch content got removed. But is someone's health and happiness and safety not more important? I personally think it is. Ash obviously feels happier now to post more regularly on CZcams again so hopefully the stupid comments don't start up again making him regret his decision to come back
