This era of SUVs probably has been one of the best made ever by GM. I bought a 2001 brand new and it is still running. Almost over 300,000 miles on it and still going strong.

Grew up with a 2002 Yukon XL, did everything with it, learned how to work on cars, learned how to drive, took me to the first day of pre school and I drove it to the last day of grad school, kept it running up to 372,000miles with original transmission and engine and this past January it saved me and my wife’s lives when a cocaine addict hit us head on going the wrong way on the highway. This vehicle will do anything and everything you ask of it and it will save your life, now I’m trying to find another one, couldn’t possibly recommend a vehicle more.

The heater core just went and that is a big repair bill but he is going to get it done anyway because the truck is that good, worth it!

It sounded so good that I bought an NOS version of the same radio with the y91 Lux bose feature and swapped the amp in the center console to the one that came standard in your truck and the escalade. Over all the sound improved and i added the noise compensation audio pilot mic. It really is a great radio for it's time even by today's standards.

I bought me a 2005 Denali XL 2 years ago. I've run my Denali hard and went off roading after lifting it about 3 inches. The only thing I had to do to it was to change out the plugs and wires. Had to change out the water pump about a month ago. It was quite easy. It has the e-clutch fan which it made it so easy. Took me a couple of hours to change it out. My kids love it. It's roomy and comfortable. I added a Pioneer stereo on it and it made the bose sound even better. I've pulled trucks out of mud puddles. Other than it guzzles gas like crazy, but it seems like when you're pulling something like a trailer or a RV trailor, it takes it easy on the fuel mileage. That's kinda strange in my opinion. My family loves it. It's a great truck to have. Can't go wrong with it.

I’ve got a 2005 Suburban LT. Had 90k miles on it and bought it for $6500. Now has 205k miles. I’ve owned it for 8 years now and it has had all the common trouble issues that I’ve fixed myself. O2 sensors, fuel pump, fuel vapor canister, air bag sensors, temperature blend door motors, sagging ceiling liner, alternator, driveshaft u joints, instrument cluster, and window regulators, inside door panels breaking, intake gasket, NOX sensors, no heated seats, seat adjustment controls, steering wheel buttons, water pump, lift gate light bar and shocks, rear window lift shocks, had the transmission rebuilt. Just recently started having more transmission trouble. So I rebuilt the valve body and used all Sonnax parts for shift and forward accumulators and installed a corvette servo. Seems like it’s doing better now. Drives good when it’s running but keeps breaking down. I’ve probably spent another $6500 on parts over the 8 years. I don’t know why I hang on to it. It’s a rolling pile of junk. I wish I had bought a Toyota Landcruiser.

I think you just got a truck built on a Monday....I have an 05 Z71 suburban. I bought it 9 years ago at 96k miles and now have 172k on it. It leaks oil, I've done brakes, tires, water pump, battery, alternator, vapor canister (from a junk yard), and a coil, but never anything major. I've done all the work myself. It broke down this week....it was a wire grounding out...cost me $6 in fuses and a few hours to fix. I think I will keep it forever and put a new drive train in if it ever fails.

I have the exact same truck, XL Denali, 2006 in the same paint color, silver birch metallic. Bought it as the second owner 8 1/2 years ago with 74k on the odometer. It now has 187k and still runs like a champ! Easy to work on parts at plentiful and they are crazy easy to mod and upgrade. Love that newer GM 6 lug wheels are direct bolt on upgrades. Had a set of 2007 20s, a set of 2015 20s, and now a set of 2021 denali 20s. My only complaint is that silver birch metallic is well known for clearcoat failure, mine is trashed. The one is this video is immaculate paint wise and that makes me really jealous lol. Only thing I’d say is that the Denali Yukon never came with a wood grain trimmed steering wheel from the factory. If it had one it’s an aftermarket upgrade. I did an Escalade wheel in mine as well except that I painted the grips to match the darker Denali wood trim.

I have a 2002 Yukon SLT, and by far it's got to be the most reliable vehicle I've ever seen. As far as brake lines go, I went with cupronickel lines when the rust killed the factory lines. Cheaper than stainless, and a lot easier to get in (you can form them by hand).
My only complaint is rust... once they start it's hard to stop, and it takes over quickly (I blame the foam sound deadening in the panels). Seems to be faster with these than other trucks, but I'd rather have a working rust bucket than a dead but clean truck

@@alexdiaz6248 I paid 11K. Mint condition and low miles. It just hit 100 miles. My only issue is the steering is light just as you said. Don't know if it's normal or not.

@@ATRIBECALLEDJUDAH001 Sounds like a good deal! You should share some pix. The one I got is in good condition, few blemishes on the exterior and interior but they can be fixed, and just normal wear and tear. It's a gas guzzler ! I'm hoping to find an 05-06 Suburban z71 , I imagine that should get a little bit better gas mileage.

400k if taken care of. I was looking at 2010-2014 Yukon's , but because of my own research , I bought a clean 02 Denali with 140k on the odometer. I'm a reliability first shopper, and hands down these are the last gen that measure up to Toyota level reliability.
