He can talk! I've been waiting for videos like this for so long, and now I'm finally here! You are a wonderful musician, thank you for teaching us. I love your videos so much, so please make more videos like this! hopefully there will be more lessons! tell me please, when will there be new songs? Ily🖤
You definitely communicate so much emotion through playing your guitar. You may not realize it but you also do that with your eye and now with that lovely voice too! Looking forward to more of these videos from you and watching you continue to grow
I hope you don't feel insecure about your voice, because it really is amazing. No one should ever be afraid to speak for themselves. You spoke well about your passion and I really enjoyed learning and listening.
Oh wow, your speaking voice is so soothing. Have you thought about starting a podcast as well? (Maybe release audios of your YT uploads as podcast) The tone of your video is so accommodating and relaxing. It's not intimidating like most of learning videos here. Looking forward for more :)
This is a great video, I'm not a guitarist but I've been singing for about 11 years now, I'm 18 and pretty much every point is bang on. Consistency is really important, because you're trying to build muscle memory to remember the basic parts of playing an instrument or using your voice etc. Getting the basics down is yes, irritating, but then you can apply it to other pieces of music that can help you learn faster + will then allow you to add your own twists to make it more personalised. And yeah, enjoy it!! I sing because it's genuinely fun and yes I do competitions here and there for the thrill of it but nothing beats the enjoyment of singing songs, playing the guitar or piano whatever it may be just to wind down and vibe. I absolutely love the guitar though, I'm a huge fan of ACDC, Aerosmith and Black Sabbath. Also Christian this was cool, post more videos.
I’m so happy to see this video!! I had been wanting to start learning guitar for so long, and it was literally your mashup video of back in black earlier this year that finally got me to get off my ass, get a guitar and start talking lessons. You make it look so fun and you’re so talented, I’ve had the BEST 6 months since starting lessons and I’m so so glad I started. So thank you for inspiring me. Also - fully agree with everything in this vid. After playing piano for 16 years and now finally learning guitar at 25, I know that consistency is so important but learning a second instrument has finally given me a creative outlet and a hobby post-college, since I’ve been feeling like I needed SOMETHING. I feel like I’ve discovered a way to fill my soul again, and it gives me something to focus on. I now own a beautiful acoustic, souped up my OG started electric, and inherited my uncles Eastman as well. Please make more of these videos!! ❤❤❤
I watch a long videos of how to play guitar , but u make it easy and abbreviated it to me 🖤 thanks a lot , and keep drops like these vids with tips and advices ✨🎸
I have the perfect fingers for guitar, but I also have early onset arthritis 😔 I still love watching you play and learning about guitar playing & music, keep shredding and I will be moral support 🙌
there was a time when, as you said, i got frustrated too and stopped playing for a long time, but now i'm starting again so thanks for your advice, can't wait to hear your new songs, I love your music
For real, I need to be very consistent with my bass. I’ve begun to learn a few things by ear, but I need to stick with it more. I just got into the bass, so ima do my best to keep with it 😤😤
Thank you so much. This video is useful. We need more video about learning guitar so keep going. You're a professional Artist and I respect you Mr. Locke. Good luck ✨
Thank you I’ve been learning for around a year and I needed some advice and this has helped and encouraged me to be more consistent in my playing and not to try learn riffs and focus on the key chords and scales to balance out my playing
I loved this video SO much. I’m really glad I followed you. You’re so genuine and this makes you stick out 1817171 times more. I would love guitar lessons on here, because the way you put focus on the emotional aspect already said enough about your priorities. You give the guitar a personality yk what I mean? You’re authentic and most of the time it’s like your guitar is singing. That is just unique. Can’t wait for more music & keep up the great work 🤍
90s baby here. Started playing guitar when I was at 6th grade because I have a dad that's good at playing guitar and uncle that's super-- forceful AND persuasive of playing guitar. I used to post vids of me playing guitar & singing the songs I like that time (not good at tuning the guitar's string before, but it's close to tuned good for my ears). My passion is drawing and since I love listening to music that much, I tried playing guitar with it. I did enter an acoustic band contest in my 4th year High School, and just lucky to be part of the finals and perform, eventho we're not that good 😅 I had fun, eventho with the calloused fingers. Me and my brothers learned playing songs with songbooks before, and learned to love the classic rock songs that my dad loves to play in the stereo. Nowadays, I can only do basic chords but I barely touch the guitar now. Just 2 of my brothers who are really good with the guitar are the ones playing more. Oh, we also share one guitar, which is kinda fun.
Thanks for this vid. I’ve been trying to learn guitar on my own and I couldn’t really trust CZcams but now I’m reassured that it’ll help! And about the comparing you’re right I’ve been playing the piano for over 9 years and teachers constantly comparing me to others made piano a stress and that was tough I still have issues playing sometimes (literally having panic attacks while playing) I write songs and also sing and my biggest dream is to become a star and inspire people and since day one I’ve been told I’m not good enough but I’ve been trying to be patient and maybe your vid didn’t have to do much with my situation but it helped me get my mind back on track since I was having a little down fall lately. I’d appreciate it if you also made a vid about singing and songwriting and what’s the best way to record them and etc. Shine bright 💫
thank you so much for this video! I've just started playing a few months ago and am still struggling to learn chords 💀 this this was so helpful and motivates me to keep doing my best. you know, when you said "find an inspiration" I kept asking myself which one that would be instead of just songs I've always wanted to play, and you popped up right away after you said that! I've been following you on tiktok for a few years now and have ever since I first found you admired your skills and surprised myself by knowing we're the same age; so sitting down and watching this video was extremely helpful and inspirational. I dream of getting to a point where I can hopefully play like you do, so I will keep trying my best and having fun while I'm at it. again, thank you so much for the advice. considering I recently started playing I'm glad I decided to watch the video right now. pd: sorry for the long comment lol
I like guitar, especially electric guitar, and I love your music. Hope you will make more sharing videos because I also want to hear that charming voice. Looking forward to the lesson videos. Thank you, Christian and love ya🫶
Thank you so much for this video! Would love to see more 🖤 Right now I learn guitar by myself, it’s working so lala :’D teaching lessons on CZcams would be amazing
Wow, wow, wow!!!! I am beyond happy to see this video. Finally! I honestly started to play the guitar because of you; Actually, I have always been in love with guitars but I always felt like "oh, I could NEVER do it" - then I found your instagram, TikTok and that was the last "DO IT" - kick that I needed. I've been playing for like 3 months now, still a beginner, but I am taking it slowly and step by step. Thank you so so so much for these tips! :) Will you perhaps do more of these videos, e.g. give us more tips, what should beginners focus on? Also, tutorial videos on how to play songs would be much appreciated. Sending much love 😊 P.S: Teach us how to play your songs! :)
Thank you so much for posting this video! Your video inspired me to start learning guitar!! And whenever i feel unmotivated i come back to this video or watch your reels on Instagram... It helps a lot !!! So thank youuu veryy much !!!!! 💖
WE NEED A PART 2 And I wanted to share that I had bought ( actually forced my parents to buy me a guitar for my birthday) around 6 years ago but I could never actually completely learn how to play because I had too much school work and academic pressure and I couldn't find time to play even if I did then I would start with the basics like cords but I didn't have consistency so after a while I had to redo all the basic.... Eventually I just stopped playing entirely But then I found ur channel and I heard u play so beautifully, ... you have inspired me to play again and also understand what style of playing I like and IM DEFINITELY GONNA START PLAYING so thank you !!!!!
I got my first electric guitar a couple months ago (moved on from the ukulele) and I haven't started learning yet because of the lack of time. Thank you for the advice!
Ofcourse pls make more videos like this and also guitar lessons on yt. Would love to hear more about your guitar journey and just topics related to it ❤❤
Actually, here are some things I struggle with A LOT and I would appreciate your inputs/thoughts on these topics: - Barre chords (how to hold the guitar neck, what should we focus on, what if your hand hurts) - Spider-practise with fingers (Is it really helpful for improving your skills?) - How to get faster at transitions between chords (I struggle with that so much). - Do you personally prefer to play on e-guitar or acoustic guitar? (Judging by watching your videos I wanna say e-guitar heh) Lastly, I really agree with what you said about finding the motivation, not being too hard on yourself and just enjoying the ride. Learning the guitar is giving me so much happiness and I'm just thankful for that. I WISH i had started earlier, but oh well. I've been following you for more than a year and you never stop to amaze me. Thank you again for taking my suggestions into consideration and helping a beginner out! :)
Extremely helpful video. Beginning to learn the guitar can be very overwhelming, because you KNOW there is alot to learn but where the hell do you begin and what is the right order? I feel like these tips are the very basics to start learning guitar. (To learn anything tbh) Be patient, disciplined, work on technique and have fun doin it. Will save this for when my first electric guitar arrives!
Thanks for all the tips, all of them are great, you can take them to start paying any instruments... I'm so excited for the new songs 🤩🤩 ... And yeah you should make some lesson for YT. 🤩
YT lessons would be sooo much fun, I've been wanting to get an e-guitar for years and finally really want to look into it. I already have acoustic but should def. play more often but even though I'm not good I enjoy it so much and also see that I get better if I keep on playing, also loved the video, good motivation ^^
I hope this man knows he is my inspiration to play guitar I have been playing for a month maybe and I already know 12 songs!!! I can read tabs but I don’t really know much notes I only know one (I’m 13 no judgment)
(Yes I’m late but oh well) I started to get into guitar in 2017- 2019 because my dad played electric but Im more of an acoustic person. So for my birthday he got me a guitar I was a beyond happy and I started to learn but, I had the mindset that I couldn’t do it and it’s was to complicate but this summer I want to learn. I just have to see it as my happy place and the “stress reliever” and not what’s causes the stress. This really helped, thank you.
Tip No. 5 is great. It can apply to a lot of people, not just those who want to learn how to play guitar. We have to stay in our lane and stop comparing ourselves to others, and be patient no matter how slow our improvement is at times. Thank you for this video!
I’ve been struggling in trying to learn to play guitar. There are times I try to learn easy songs but at times it seems I can’t hit the chords right or too hard to actual play those chords. So far, I can only play G and A chords. Before I learned to play tabs but I felt discouraged because I knew tabs but not chords. Never had a teacher, trying to learn on my own had been hard. Hopefully, if you do start making lesson videos, I’d find ways that actually help me (as well as others who want to learn).
This man giving major guitar tips for FREE. Can’t get better than this, what a G.

Well he definitely reads but never responds 😅 type of guy.
@@fauxamy23 He used to respond a lot in tiktok, but lately he's been doing it very rarely, even too rarely
1. consistency
2. find inspiration
3. chords and rhythm
4. dont compare yourself, go at your own pace
I hope you don't feel insecure about your voice, because it really is amazing. No one should ever be afraid to speak for themselves. You spoke well about your passion and I really enjoyed learning and listening.
1:47 you were the person that really made me want to start learning. You play so well and I love to listen to you play all the time
I now have the sudden urge to go and buy myself a guitar and learn it! Also he talks very well. His voice is a very soothing/comforting sound!
Oh wow, your speaking voice is so soothing. Have you thought about starting a podcast as well? (Maybe release audios of your YT uploads as podcast) The tone of your video is so accommodating and relaxing. It's not intimidating like most of learning videos here. Looking forward for more :)

This video makes me want to start playing guitar again. Love it ✨️✨️

You seem really calm, it was relaxing for me to watch this video and yeah, I just confirmed again what I should do. Let’s go with theory I guess
If you post more videos like this, I swear to god I will practice guitar everyday
I remember sitting with my first guitar teacher learning those first chords. Good times.
Thank you Christian for sharing this tips to us. Hope i can learn in a fun way like you did🙌🏼

Thank you❤️🙏
(Yes I’m late but oh well) I started to get into guitar in 2017- 2019 because my dad played electric but Im more of an acoustic person.
