Mariah looked like a straight up psychopath with the heel turn. Most brutal heel turn I’ve seen from the women. Amazing ending.
Her whole demeanor instantly changed!
I was so caught up in the moment and felt so bad for Toni that I forgot it was a Work.
It really was a pivotal moment in her career I think!
@@matthewgilliland6864I did too man.. she was crying, while pouring blood screaming "Whyyy??!" Poor Timeless.
Love it
That ending visual with Mariah holding up a bloodied Toni with the graphic for their match in the background was dope.
I also loved that
Truly felt like a scene you'd see on the big screen. Absolutely loved it!
The best ending involving the women’s division that
I was there, looked amazing.
I was in perfect position to see local boy Luther take his table bump off the stage.
That ending was beyond ridiculous; I legitimately thought they were going to draw the split out until All In, so I, and many others, were legitimately surprised and shocked by the turn happening, and how brutal it was.
Golden Up, indeed.
I was very surprised by this. I loved it but I really thought Mariah was going to stay the naive babyface and Toni turn heel on her as she was coming for her title.
AEW's been on a hell of a run.
As for Mariah, I expected a turn, but I didn't expect it to be so damn brutal. Especially after their happy ending at Forbidden Door. Continues to be my favorite story in wrestling.
I actually thought Toni would have been the one to turn, so when it was May I was genuinely shocked but immediately realized that it would be so much better.
@@moo2k4 Yeah, it's honestly hard to boo Toni since she's so good. Mariah is, as well, but the story of the young upstart taking over her mentor is a tale as old as time. It just works.
I, too, have been expecting a turn, but I didn't think it would happen until All In. I can't help wondering if they've done it too early.
I also thought Toni Storm would turn heel because Mariah May wants to take her title but it makes sense, you can’t want to be champion and be friends
Could've done without toni storm bleeding.
That ending angle absolutely deserved a golden up. 🔥🔥🔥
Mannn the little details matter man 😌👌🏾
Calling Simon Miller a shill for anything is absurd, this man is a beacon of positivity and a national treasure
Folks saying he favors AEW seem to forget that Simon cancelled multiple AEW Ups and Downs shows lol
🎯🎯🎯
Dude favors positivity lmao and I love it
What’s wrong with being a shill? Everyone is a shill to something.
@@wooperman6960But simply saying everything is fantastic is intellectually dishonest, using positivity as a shield for shilling doesn’t work for a lot of people.
@@zacthebuzzkill Sure, because God forbid Simon just enjoy something
Can't have any positivity here in the IWC after all 🤦
"Watch for the shoe"
Simon there is a difference between a surprise rollup and someone putting a technical pin on. Danielson used a submission reversal to a pin and Mariah used a real wrestling pin.
Miriah's pin was also a throwback to Owen vs. Bret
Come on, dude 😂
@@SimonMillerYT Randomly school boying someone because they are so distracted is not that same as pinning someone with a technical pin because they are wrestling.
HI GUYS!!! 👋🏻
The Learning Tree Chris Jericho taught us forklift safety this week with honking the horn letting everyone know the forklift is moving. Obviously, Jericho has years of experience driving a forklift.
THANKS GUYS!!!
He sure did and that was a great catch.
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
OSHA 10 is what he needs, putting people on the forklift is unsafe sorry guys.
I just chuckled at this. You won the day.
The ending gets a Golden Up. A heel turn with an actual heel involved.
A high heel turn 👠 👠 👠
Good feeling being validated that the Women's division has been improving and now we're bearing the fruits of those efforts with some killer storylines.
Has it been improved or ratings getting a pop because of all the chicks making out?
Mariah May and Stephanie Vaquer did some crazy Heel turns yesterday.
Why did Stephanie turn heel, because she went to WWE? Congrats on being a tribalistic, miserable loser.
Right exactly 💯.
I love that they didn't play it out and Mariah instantly grabbed the belt and just smashed Toni. Instead of doing a fake celebration and THEN hitting her... It felt so calculated and like she's been waiting for this moment for so long. Toni with her blooded head, incredible screaming and just defeated look... Honestly, this shit was top tier and why so many AEW fans have been begging Tony to just let the women cook... He did here, and look how incredible it was :D
agreed
It was amazing to see in person.
I was able to get an up close look at local lad Luther’s table bump
This.
All the refrences in this show to the Harts was amazing. Bret also siad: "if you were a cowboy hat in Calgary, you better be a real cowboy."
One if the best turns we’ve gotten in a few years regardless of the wrestling promotion. Absolute magic in a bottle moment.
Major props to Toni Storm. Rhat was quite the performance
Long term storylines are ALWAYS fun when done correctly and no one gets RL hurt. The All About Eve storyline involving Mariah May and Toni Storm has been a work of art. And we are entering the next chapter of it.
The Judy Bagwell comment. CLASSIC
6:52 “lovely jubbly in my wubbly.” Simon…you are something else 😂😂😂
Such a good episode. AEW is on a roll right now
No it's not on a roll.
@@atrainbrady3208go back to the basement
@@symphonyofgecko7768 ain't in the basement,AEW was better in the beginning.
That's hands down the best show closing segment Dynamite has done this year... and has to be like... a top 3 show closer for them. Just incredible stuff from May and Toni. They looked all those IWC nerds in the eye who claimed they can't tell stories and said "watch me" and just executed the best damn heel turn of the year that's been very clearly planned for nine months now. That's storytelling.
Simon!!!!!!!!!!!! The surprise roll up is an homage to Owen defeating Bret at WMX with the surprise roll up! Am I the only one who caught this? LOL
Was thinking the same, though I believe Owen stopped a victory roll and dropped to his knees to pin Bret WM X.
Yes I know. I should've mentioned it but I've dug my own grave. If I don't call it out now I get people going 'BUT YOU SAID ON WWE...' and they're right. You have to be balanced.
I KNEW that final segment would get a Golden Up, my jaw was on the floor those brutal Heel shots made me flinch. Women can be just as tough as the men🙏🏽 🔥
Not all of them.
you wish
Absolutely!
@@AaronC6988 LMFAOOOO both you guys are wwe fans here on an AEW video...ah 🤣which is why I hate that company, thanks for being wwe marks
It was quite the brutal spectacle.
I was doing the dishes while I watched the show and when Mariah attacked Toni I just stood there watching, water running, plate in hand just watching in shock. I was truly shocked, it was awesome
It was art 👌
i was at work this am finishing it. I was i shock and was OMG OH SH8T all loud lol ooopsie
The build to All In has been superb so far in contrast with last year-- can’t wait for Wembley
I read a comment earlier in the day that said "for the first time in professional wrestling a wrestler turned heel by using an actual Heel "
Just wanted to put it out there😂
It just keeps getting better ! Thank you AEW !
No it's not getting better.
Mariah nailed the camera stare down at the end. She didn't over do it, and she didn't crack. It was so believable.
That was a Movie shot fr
That was one of the best Dynamites I’ve seen in so long, and the ending was EPIC!!!
The atmosphere in the arena was electric
That heel turn gets a golden up ☝️
Wasn't Owen the king of the Suprise Roll Up? I feel like I have memories of him winning by SRU a lot. Like, a lot.
lmao, 100% expected it
This was a solid episode. Stories are moving
AEW doesn't have stories. EE is the place for stories we have the same story for 4 years straight thats how you do it. We beat the horse until its air!!!
@@rezsurfer2808 so true. But I do give WWE credit for how they're stories flow well. AEW stories become great when they got tournaments involved.
But ppl in the IWC told me AEW doesn’t have stories, apparently May and Storm isn’t a story
@@michaelskatharoudis9201what the heck do you call it then🤦🏾♂️??
@@craiggrayson9036 I was being sarcastic
I thought the victory rolls were homages to Owen Hart in itself, but I agree that doing two of them is too much.
thats what i thought also. Owen loved doing that.
This match aside, how many AEW matches feature 17 minutes of gymnastics, finishers not being sold all followed by a roll up? It’s basically a standard AEW match.
Aight, I approve the Jamie Hayter count... house... thing.
god i miss Jamie, hopefully comes to help Britt or something
Simon, you are the freaking best bro! You are freaking hilarious and your references are so stellar! LMFAO. Keep up the good work bro ✌🏾💯
The crime counter always makes me laugh 😂
Here is my tip: Kamille will become Mercedes bodyguard. And then Jamie Hayter will come back - hopefully and Wembley - to even the odds. The pop at Wembley would be insane
Timeless Toni's blood curdling horror picture "THE MADNESS OF MARIAH!" was a classic; TCM even put on their X account, "This is WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE? if it was directed by Roger Corman and written by Roger Ebert 😳"
I was deffo expecting Mariah to turn at some point, but I was thinking it would happen closer to, or perhaps immediately following the ALL IN match
But in hindsight this was the perfect time to do it
And so brutal!
One of the best heel turns I've seen in a while
Great show as always Simon although you might want to update that picture of Calgary
"Simon Shiller"
Absolutely sounds lik the newest additiont ot he characters!
Speaking of which, we haven't seen the wizard in the sky, or the platypus, or whatnot.
I miss the puppet. He's always so nice to you, Simon!
Thanks for the review Simon ❤️
When I'm in an AEW glazing competition and my opponent is Simon Miller: 😰
Very good show and awesome review!
Simon & Dynamite both get gold ups 🥇👍
This was an incredible episode of Dynamite.
My favourite moment ended up being Nigel saying "There Is no God" when Danielson was getting the Owen. This may be because I'm a massive goober.
This episode has really hammered home that ALL IN is the flagship PPV for AEW.
I heard multiple "Wembly Moment" comments, mostly from British wrestlers, which shows the importance and desire to be on the biggest stage of the year.
"ABW". You Sir, are a right genius!
If you watched Dynamite and still think AEW is bad and has no storytelling you're either blind, biased, or dumb. Likely all 3. That was some of the best wrestling ever. ESPECIALLY the Mariah/Toni segment
💯🎯
Mannn this the one ☝🏾
This episode of Dynamite bent me over a marble countertop and rearranged my insides dude. It really felt like there was something for everyone - and that ending GOD THAT ENDING. Mariah May's demeanor and aggression, and the way Toni sold the betrayal was absolutely heart-wrenching. I wasn't really sold on the idea of Mariah beating Toni for the title before, but now I feel like it'd make perfect sense with her being a full-fledged heel.
As someone who grew up watching Memphis wrestling in 1980, it's important to point out that Jeff Jarrett actually started in the business as a ref so that was a nice touch in that match. The show was amazing, and they're definitely building All In up as their Wrestlemania with all the storylines converging to be blown off there.
That twist at the end....
Give a new meaning to watch for the shoe...
The heel on heel turn was something i didnt know id enjoy! Great story telling. I hope they dont mess it up.
I thought Storm was going to turn on May but I thought that turn was incredible. The venom May put behind her attack was savage.
Will calling MJF a prick twice, while successfully resisting the urge from his New Japan days to call him the "C Word" was admirable...
Swerve also added 1 to the Bitch Counter.
18:47 I love this. Ty Simon.
I thought that maybe WIllow would win and that would cause Mariah to snap but when she won I really thought she would remain next to Toni until All In or maybe one or two weeks before that PPV. I think that's what made it so impactful aside from how violent her attack was to both Toni and Luther. Great segment and a great finish to an all around great Dynamite episode.
The best women’s segment in AEW history since Britt Baker’s bloodshed. I told someone a while back that Mariah May was going to turn on Toni Storm between May 1st(May Day) and the finals of the finals of the Owen Cup, and I got it on the money
I didn't actually know it was going to happen from day one. I thought there was a decent chance Toni would be the one to turn. Less than 50%, but enough to make me wonder. I also didn't think the turn would happen until the actual title match in Wembley. It's great when there's some uncertainty, though.
😂Tony Khan holding Bryan Danielson backstage:"You will win!...you will win damn it!"😂def what happened..cheers folk!🎉 Mariah May Mania at Wembley bahh! 🔥
Some online thought the crew member trying to convince Jericho to stop the forklift was Kofi Kingston or Rich Swann; "they've left WWE/TNA and THAT was their AEW debut?" 🤣🤣🤦♂🤦♂
What I learned from the four way match was that the giant swing and Black arrow both look way more impressive in person
Love the counters!
A lot of reviewers miss that Mercedes did a 2 punch when it came to referencing Brett Hart. A lot of people remember the "Best there is..." rip she did, but then, her next lines of threatening Baker with "two Herniated Discs and a Stroke" went over most people's heads. That's another reference to Brett Hart's injuries which really should have fanned more flames her way. LOL
Love you Simon!!!!!
That ending was astonishing brutality hell turn like never seen for the women. That was wild and took it to level 10 Legendary. Toni was the one everyon thought would turn on her but nope. This PPV will be crazy great job Mariah
That ending was like a horror movie scene. Kudos to both girls cuz i legit felt bad for Timeless.
Mariah May is fantastic! Who could have guessed that such a sweet-hearted thing was a pure monster? The best part was poor Toni sobbing as she realized her precious baby was not the treasure she had so cherished. I imagine a combination of hysterical tears and furious anger from Toni when the two next meet.
There are so many exciting ideas AEW can bring to fruition from this point. Though I'm aware these things almost certainly won't happen, I'd like to see Toni try to "kill her past" by scheduling the title match BEFORE All In, in order to defeat the little traitor once and for all. Mariah would win, of course, and perhaps join forces with the Outcasts. I'd also like to see MJF, too, challenge Swerve before All In, win the match, and enter London as the world champion. Then he and Bryan Danielson would have their rematch.
And it really looks as if Darby Allin will be in the Blood and Guts Match. I'm REALLY looking forward to it.
Judy Bagwell plug! Simon is the man. 😂😂
i remember when jericho used a bag of dice in one of his matches 🎲
Hockey Pucks in Winnipeg, Horseshoes in Calgary, the dice were in Vegas; I'm actually hoping this continues in Jericho's FTW/Street Fight style matches. Even though I'm not currently allowed to like anything Jericho does right now, because the internet told me not to...
HANGMAN WAS ALWAYS RIGHT! Thats was awesome, Iron Up!
Incredibly on the same day that Simon introduced this house gimmick for Jamie fightful comes out with the report about her, lmao
A bloody golden up for that Mariah May betrayal.
Amazing show again, the card for Wembley is steadily taking shape. Although I’d have given a down to that guy in the Hawaiian shirt behind Mercedes Mone in the crowd…
The women's match down needs a retraction, that was not a surprise roll up that was the Owen Hart victory roll from wrestlemania X a la his victory over Bret. Shame on you Simon for not realizing that and acknowledging it!
🎶🎶🎶
This is the song written for the Stampede
This is the fight, Jericho and Joe
He tried to kill him with a forklift
🎶🎶🎶
"Wie macht er das?" - Your German is getting better and better. 👍
It was an awesome segment.
a literal heel turn
Cena was the first to do it!
The fact so many fans hate Jericho's Learning Tree gimmick just shows u how good Jericho is cuz that means everything he's doing is working to get him heat with the crowd. Just think of how many times he has reinvented himself n how many times that character has been good id say just about every time!!
Toni Mariah and Luther played this ending perfectly, a great angle, the beat down has took womens heel turns to a new level
Good afternoon, Simon!
Wonderful as always, AEW just keeps getting better
It's actually not getting better, should not have let toni storm bleeding like that.
I thought Mariah May was going to turn Babyface but that heel turn was amazing. Amazing storyline right there
I loved the ending segment. Mariah and Toni nailed it. Simon was totally right to give it a golden up.
Should not have had a toni storm bleeding like that.
@@atrainbrady3208 That's your opinion, I respect it.
@shailandau8065 still should have done without the blood.
So... why did Mariah turn on Toni? Simon kept going on and on about how great that segment was, but it felt so random.
While watching Dynamite I just thought to myself, Simon is going to commenting about how the ABW counter is the fastest counter in wrestling.
18:36 I’m wit you Simon❤
Haters can hate people can criticize all they want i love aew and am happy for those who love wwe enjoy what you like.cant wait for Jamie Hayter to come back!!
DUDE! You had smelt right there! "He who SMELT (made the horseshoes) it....."
It may just be me but these previous weeks you can tell they got their A-Game on, these past two episodes has been really good
Mariah's turn caught me off guard for how sudden and brutal it was.
Also, I really thought that Nigel McGuinness would have screwed Bryan and hand the victory to Hangman... well done!
The All In card is shaping nicely.
Same I was expecting Nigel to screw Bryan and set up Danielson vs. McGuinness IV at All In.
May turning on toni was a great way end off the show
Wonder why he didn't say too much on the Acclaimed rap?
TK has been cookin' all year. All In season is officially under way!
SIMON IS THE BEST, SIMON NUMBER ONE 👏👏
That ending... Damn 🔥🔥🔥
Hey Simon, since you brought in the Jamie Hayter House into Ups and Downs can you please do something similar for Ricky Starks? We want Ricky back on AEW.
I saw Adam Page and the Young Bucks in Louisville where they turned heel , And it leads to this story , cool , Tony Khan is a genius , That's story telling .
