  • Imagine the scariest ways to pass away-like being trapped in a volcanic eruption or melted by flowing lava. People from Pompeii knew that horror too well. That's why it's super important to keep an eye on Earth's volcanoes, so we can watch out and maybe stop a disaster before it happens. We need to act now because volcanic eruptions are happening all around us. In this video, we'll talk about some eruptions expected to occur or get worse in 2024. Stick around till the end to hear about the potentially worst one.
    ---
    8 Shishaldin, Alaska
Let’s start with Shishaldin located in Alaska, a land of breathtaking landscapes, renowned for its majestic beauty and unparalleled natural wonders. Here, vast expanses of pristine wilderness stretch as far as the eye can see, adorned with snow-capped mountains, glaciers, and diverse ecosystems that house unique flora and fauna.
    7 Campi Flegrei, Italy
Let’s move to Italy, land of spaghetti.
Located in Naples, there is a volcanic complex consisting of multiple craters and calderas, with the most notable being the 8-mile wide caldera known as Phlegraean Fields or Campi Flegrei.
    ---
    6 Anak Krakatau, Indonesia
Anak Krakatau, situated in Indonesia, has earned its place as one of the world's most renowned and active volcanoes. The term "Anak Krakatau" translates to "Child of Krakatoa,"
    5 Ubinas, Southern Peru
In July 2023, the Ubinas volcano in Southern Peru woke up and caused some trouble. The Peruvian government had to declare a state of emergency for the area around it. ata without direct human exposure to the potentially hazardous volcanic environment.
    ---
    4 Grindavik, Iceland
Grindavik, a small town in Iceland - mostly famous for its Blue Lagoon Spa and its Fishing industry, had some big trouble in late 2023 and early 2024. It all started when they found a magma river under the ground, and that was a big deal.
In November 2023, things got serious.
    3 Mount Marapi, Indonesia
We already mentioned Indonesia has been suffering from volcanic activity in the Anak Krakatau zone, but something even worse is happening at Mount Marapi, about 450 miles 720 kilometers northwest of Anak Krakatau.
    ---
    2 Mount Edgecumbe, Alaska
Returning to Alaska, we arrive at the second spot featuring Mount Edgecumbe on Kruzof Island. Recent investigations into magma movement, seismic activity, and ground deformation have sparked concerns about heightened volcanic activity.
    ---
    1 Long Valley Caldera, California
In California, there's a place called the Long Valley Caldera, which is a large hole in the ground formed by a massive eruption around 760,000 years ago. This eruption spewed a lot of hot ash, covering parts of California and even reaching as far as Nebraska.

Don't neglect Cotopaxi in Ecuador. It tends to erupt about every 70 years, and the last eruption was in the early 1940s. It showed ground swelling and tremors in 2015, but then calmed down again. It seems to be constantly on a Yellow Alert level. A major eruption, similar to the one back in 1877-1880 would probably kill over 100,000 people. That eruption killed about 10,000 and the population today is much denser.

It's a shame you don't have your facts correct for Grindavik. Earthquakes have damaged the town; at present, it is evacuated due to large sink holes left by the earthquake movement. The January 2024 eruption did damage 3 houses by lava. The Reykjanes Peninsula is not huge mountains, especially around Grindavik, more like undulating hills. The volcanic activity in the Svartsengi area started in late 2023 and is ongoing. The previous eruptions were in 2021, 2022, and 2023 in the Fagradalsfjall area to the east of Svartsengi, and the 2021 eruption was spectacular, (your large erupting volcano is from the 2021 eruption in Geldingadalir). These current ones in 2023-2024, were small fissure eruptions. Awesome curtains of lava about 1-3 km long. If you want large volcanic mountains in Iceland, look towards the east at Katla, Hekla, Bardarbunga, or Eyjafjallajokull volcanoes. Great video, I enjoyed watching it, but thought you needed more clarification on Grindavik.

I was in Kodiak island,AK last summer when 7.2 earthquake happened near Sand Point. I immediately thought about the Shishaldin Volcano as it was very active. There was a tsunami alarm followed by but luckily no tsunami occurred.

Campi Flegrei is a super volcano and the one most likely to erupt , but the U.S. has 3 super volcanos none of them likely to erupt. Of course Yellow Stone the one everyone talks about in Mt , Long Valley Caldera in Ca and Valles Caldera in Nm

    Abstract :
The energy that dominates the earth is very great, some of it is natural, like the heat of the sun and volcanoes, and some of it is human action, by cutting down trees, without replacing them and cultivating in their place...
There are five forces that control or dominate the planet...
1- The first theory (horizontal dynamic movement) and its end...
The occurrence of storms, rain, floods and snow, at unexpected times and places, is because of the expiration of this theory, which needs to be balanced...
2- The second theory (vertical dynamic movement) and its end...
This movement or force controls or dominates the earthquakes, earth cracks, drying up of rivers and lakes, earth openings, mountain collapses, and the emergence of drinking water springs on the ground...
    It becomes out of control...
These phenomena increased due to the end of this theory...
The third theory: it is water that rotates the earth...
The fourth theory: the Earth's axis of rotation has tilted 2° degrees...
The fifth theory: The Earth has a new orbit...
These studies had completed and sent on July 26th 2000

Santorini isn't a super volcano. It's an incredibly devastating volcano, but it doesn't meet the classification standard of a super volcano. The eruption 3500 years ago or so, had a VEI of 6-7 which is very strong of course, but a super volcano is an 8 and is still even stronger and ejects much, much more ash and ejecta. But, Santorini would still be a good idea to cover in a future video.

Nope. The most dangerous volcano out there is the caldera surrounding Iwo Jima. That island has been rising at a ridiculous rate for many decades now. A high-end VEI-6 (or even 7) is possible. The Tsunami could do bad things to Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong.
A large VEI-6 at Iwo Jima is more likely in our lifetimes than a similar eruption at Campi Flegrei. And it's _far_ more likely than a VEI-7 at Campi Flegrei.
The combination of eruption likelihood, scale of the eruption, and potential consequences of the eruption makes Iwo Jima the scariest volcano on Earth.
Not having Iwo Jima on the list makes me think you really didn't do any serious research.

The occurrence of stoms, rains, ice, and floods at times and in unexpected places, confirms my theory the end of the (dynamic horizontal movement )which needs to balance and it sill under control to balance...
But about earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, sinkholes, tsunami, dry lakes and rivers, flow of water from the mountains and hills, explodeand of eyes water from the ground, formation of new mountains or islands, collaps of mountains ,and cracks on ground,& ,& ,&,they are out of control or balance...

I think a word is missing from the title of this video - that word being "possible" because whoa boy this sure is another clickbait title you guys. Plus, can't wait for the religious folks to swarm the comments saying the end times are here because a volcano started erupting, which you know, never happens on the Earth at all. It's SO rare.....

As opposed to the people that blame the eruptions and earthquakes on climate change?

    • @LordLOC
      @LordLOC Před měsícem

@@loveracing1988 Those people who say eclipses are because of climate change, don't understand the science of the event, nor were they properly educated on it. As for volcanic eruptions due to climate change - there is actual evidence (note, it's only recently that evidence came along showing this, it could still be disproven or only related tangentially) that it may affect certain processes under the earth's surface and therefore affect volcanoes.
