The Yuke's team has been together for decades. They added the director of the classic AKI games and some of his colleagues.
It's nice that Yukes & THQ Reunite to show these Backstabbers at WWE how an Old School Wrestling Game is like.

At the end of the day both games should be pretty fun to play so it really doesn't matter which game is better. I'm going to enjoy both games.
Features like SvR 2009 for the Wii would fit perfectly even into simulation style games like 2K. Being able to control the wrestlers while doing their entrance, fan interactions, thumbtacks etc. Would add so much ...

Yupp wii version of svr 2009 was way ahead of i'ts that why not many people bought bcoz most of the people thought that Nintendo is only for Pokemon, Zelda and Mario.

This game is basically a love letter to N64 AKI games and I'm all for it
I always enjoyed the Steel Cage matches in games as long as it was by pin or submission only and not the cowardly climb out to win. If they add a steel cage match type in an update though, and make it to where we have access to weapons like the real life AEW steel cage version, I'm going to have even more fun with it. That would be just so fucking cool.
Climbing is the whole point of steel cage matches to me. I always turn off pinfall and submission

(NXT and ROH wrestlers as dlc packs) mash em all in one game like King of Colosseum did with NJPW, AJPW, NOAH & ZERO-ONE

FACTS but in my opinion this game looks like what if wwe no mercy, here comes the pain, and day of reckoning had a baby.
The moves lack the impact here comes the pain did & no backstage fighting.

Fight forever owned 2k so bad that ppl stopped playing Fight Forever 2 weeks after it’s release
I'm just interested how this game will gonna go in the long run, how much of replayabillity it has in it. Because i get bored from 2k games after like 10 hours, right after you nail the controls and knows how AI acts.
The Yukes wrestling games have never been boring like 2k, very brutal over top feels like fighting = addictive fun. This was a very easy buy for me having played their old ones.
AEW remains unpredictable to me while 2K does not. I believe they succeed in that aspect, need more match types and customization now
It bugs the heck out of me when I see the error message and the game just crashes all of a sudden

The only thing I wish they would add is a Universe Type Mode since that's my favorite mode.

It doesnt "look" as good but man is it sure fun to play. In a perfect world both these two games combined would be the best game in the world. My only complaint with the game from whats there was the damn table physics.

Hard to say whats better yet because AEW isnt out but it really wouldnt take much to be better. It just gotta have the ease of access the older AKI and PS1/PS2 Smackdowns had.

Only things i don't like from what I heard is CAW is kinda limited (but hopefully they have tons of moves) and I heard that RTE mode is short.
If you watch footage for the options menu, you can see you can take out special effects from the game.

Amd ya know I think it is amazing that the game is a fresh and not like the 2k series it just makes it so ,uch more appreciative in all honesty not only appreciative for aew but even wwe because we have 2 completely different wrestling style physics etc that we can enjoy the realism that is wwe 2k but we can have fun with the retro type that is aew we don't constantly have to be stuck on one consistent game we get bored we got this explosive ass crazy modern fresh game. And BTW not that it pertains to this but that's one thing I really liked about the tna impact video game released in 08 now ik alot of ppl hated it but it was good in the sense it was different

I don’t know how to find the cool weapons and i need to get used to the cotrollers but road to elite is enjoyable, im not sure if the story changes by choice’s because i only started but it’s fun, the minigames are so dope, this is really awesome and fun, the only problem is that they are a bit too short, so i give this game from the first few hours 7.5/10, i had a lot of fun, still needs way more details

If there are steel steps in the ring and I suplex someone, I want them to land on the the steel steps. I don’t want the steps to just unrealistically slide off to the side.
I saw you can customize your controls, so I'm going to try making it as close to HCTP as possible

@@MrRonald2796 It's not perfect but it's a lot of fun ,easier to watch than WWE imo, and it's a great alternative. It's mere existence definitely exposed and separated the WWE casual fans from the die hard wrestling fans. Company gets a little too much flak but I think that's because with WWE being the top dawg for such a long time, a lot of the fanboys see AEW as a threat because they are the first major wrestling company that isn't WWE in over 20 years. A lot of people can't handle the fact that they exist, so they immediately hate on it for no logical reason whatsoever. just my opinion, don't shoot me

Two things I don't like about the game is that no cage matches and no njpw stuff

If/when Fight Forever updates the creation suite and community creations and a "universe" mode...its pretty much a wrap for 2k.
It's pretty Medicare game and a ripoff for £65 with DLC There isn't even a steel cage match. Only 1 on 1 ladder matches. It reminds me of Smackdown Shut Your Mouth only speeded up. Think of an old wrestling game that has just been updated with a few tweaks and button controls. The skateboard and blood will keep you entertained for all of 5 minutes. As for CAW your options are very limited, I only hope they add so much more this feels broken to me. Wait for a lower price. REAL REVIEW

If I'm being honest about my first impressions, AEW just doesn't strike me as a triple A game. It looks like an indie or budget title. I'll eventually pick it up on sale, but I just can't see it as my go to wrestling game. I'm glad it's coming out though, competition is generally good for everyone, it will make 2K better.
Maybe I am in the minority but I was not desperately clamoring for goofy crazy stuff. I just wanted a lot of different gameplay modes and ways to enjoy the game. Which WWE 2K 23 provided. Based on this video it sounds like they're adding a lot of periphery in AEW (silly stuff, arcade feel, etc.) But the core features like match types, and general content won't be as robust.

2k is great at simulation. Yukes and the are great at arcade with simulation qualities.
If we being honest 59.99 is a lot of money for this type of quality “arcade” is an excuse for halfbaked graphics and animations

AEW Fight Forever could be yearly as well. They used these past few years to build there foundation of the game. Next year and such. Can just be them going forward and adding to what they already baked! If that makes sense
I probably won't be picking it up. The control scheme for sigs and finishers are WAY too complicated. Don't get me wrong, I played HCTP & No Mercy, but still....imo
