    I’m a professional painter but have never had to paint plastic windows until now. I gained lots by watching your process. You have done a beautiful job. I did not think of using an adhesion primer, so that was a very cool tip. Thanks again. Best of luck with the remainder of your makeover.
    Regards.

    The window looks very good now. My concerns with painting vinyl windows (interior & exterior) is leaving brush strokes. In addition to long term adhesion and fading. Reading through many reviews the most frequent criticisms of painting vinyl is adhesion and fading in the first year of application.
    The responses mainly centered on light sanding a bonding primer and multiple coats (2-3) of paint. These reviews were of Krylon and Rust-Oleum paints for plastics.

    • @WadaGoodIdea
      @WadaGoodIdea  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you for the information Robert! Mine hasnt showed any sign of fading yet but its been only a year an also an interior surface! If it was outside both fading and also warping would have been an issue! You can always get rid of or ease out the brush strokes with a small roller. I think in my case I rather see brush strokes than my ugly faded vinyl🤣

    This looks great! The outside of my home is green with white trim. It's kind of boring and I want to add a dark red door and vinyl window. I have a white grid like yours but applying black electrical tape wouldn't work. I'm thinking about painting the black electrical tape red to match the rest of the window. Good job on your window.

      Paint is in perfect condition with no issues! But I have to remind you this window is inoperable if I had to open and shut it past two years it might have scratches! The climate is four seasons here with cold winters temp going down to 10 to 20 F and summers up to 90’s rarely we see 100’s

      It looks as good as the first day I painted it! Even the tape is still intact:)) But this window is not functional if I was to use it often not sure how the paint would hold up! I guess worst would have been some scratches along the track! There is a radiator right below that window and yet heat didnt do anything to the paint!
