This episode was fun as hell to record, but Berilio suffered greatly trying to edit this much audio and this many video effects at once. You'll see minor errors in the final cut throughout. I decided to ship it as is rather than continue to force Berilio to redo this for another week to get it perfect. Thank our poor editor and may he enjoy his one day of rest before he has to run it back for next week.
For those interested in details: To give you a perspective, the raw audio of this took 2.5 hours to record and for half of this episode nobody could hear Jenny through our call. All the buzzer sounds had to be added in post so they wouldn't screw up the audio editing, we just had a visual buzzer in our recording session. The video editing software also almost died trying to have this many people with this many moving effects while we talked, that's ignoring all the text/popups/models etc. we show on screen.
Nobody who doesn’t do video editing is gonna understand how big of a pain this is but shoutout to Berillio. Extra sugar in his hamster watering tube this month

As a massive lore nerd, nothing else has recaptured the feeling of screaming at the TV when a gameshow contestant got a question wrong when I knew the answer. Thank you for the nostalgia.

@@Omra-cre bro the orks colour meme is litterally written into the rules blurb. And generally of you commit to buying toy soldiers to the point you are spending hundreds to even thousands, one would assume you'd have the interest to st least brush over the smallest bits of lore in your codex

It’s legitimately staggering how little he knows lol. Not hating on the dude, but for a guy who has dedicated so much time to 40K it’s baffling he hasn’t picked up more lore purely through accidental osmosis.

Fun fact on the naming of the Land Raider: in the book 'The Master of Mankind' we get Arkhan Lands thoughts on the name and how much he hates it. He didn't name it after himself, everyone else named it calling it "Land's Raider". And he's going on about "It's not 'Land's Raider'! It's the 'Raider Pattern Main Battle Tank mk1'! USE THE CORRECT TERMINOLOGY!!!"
He also had a pet monkey.
To be fair, the name is way too long for use. So that's on him.
Even 40K writers know how stupid that bit of lore was, and made it part of the joke.
Honestly I think the Land Raider name is one of the funniest parts of the more 'modern' lore out there.

So let me get this straight, you and Eric do a podcast on warhammer and talk about it at length every week, berillio has to sit through said episodes every week multiple times to edit them, and your wife is fairly new and only really has ever watched TTS to get an idea of the lore. And she absolutely crushed them both 😂, I love these videos they’re hilarious
To be fair, these guys mostly talk about the gameplay and models, while most of Jen’s exposure concerns lore and memes

Actually, I'll defend Eric here. Malal was only named in old Warhammer Fantasy Battles. In 40k, the 5th Chaos God (colored black and white) was only ever known as Malice. He's only ever been referred to as Malal by fans with meta knowledge of WFB.
I play Sons Of Malice, so that shit hurt me.

Malal is the name of the (almost) identical god from fantasy that got shattered into 2 parts due to the aforementioned copyright issues.

I deeply respect the commitment to comedy amongst the participants. This was just fantastic. And Berilio has my sincere gratitude for suffering through editing this.
Me knowing all the answers and watching them get them wrong is painful but I love to see them continue to try 😂

Yes, the Emperor *made* 20 primarchs, but there were 21 in total. Alpharius and Omegon split as they traveled through the warp as a baby.

This was so painful to watch especially Erics Thunder Hammer question he has been complaining about them being missing for his faction in almost every episode since the release of 10th ed.

20:53 Actually FnP was first used for Plague Marines in 4th Edition. It was also a Universal Special Rule, however the only other units in 4th that had FnP were every single Nurgle deamon.
So Berilio wasn't wrong with his second guess. :D
This was one of the few questions I didn't even check because I knew it from early in my time playing this game from it being mentioned on Reddit as a Necron thing along with "We'll Be Back" or whatever the first reanimation variant was called. Luckily it didn't affect the outcome.

Ackchually, FNP began with the Blood Angels Death Company in third edition
@@rononel8046 I actually looked this up, and technically Blood Angles would be wrong (I thought it was them too). Death Company had a rule that was functionally identical to what became FNP, but it was called 'Ignore Injury' at the time.

I dodged a bullet when I started out in 5th edition -- I wanted to make a coteaz inquisition army with some Grey Knight Support. lol, way back when they could be fielded as a sub-faction in Grey Knight at least. But I can see the argument in that case.@@wailmerpail

In truth, it was maybe my favorite Poorhammer Podcast episode ever.
Honestly, this video has done a lot for my self esteem. I know more than the contestants but not as much as Brad. I am good right in that sweet spot.

@@thepoorhammerpodcast It's too late Brad. I've listened to Warhammer lore every night since 2015. And most of the answers I did not know were mainly the gameplay ones. It's far too late.
I only have the faintest interest in 40k and I literally only stopped avoiding it right after 10th launched THIS YEAR. Most of my knowledge comes from this very podcast. And I am absolutely dominating this game. It's very sad actually.
It's sadder for me who wastes my breath telling Eric things, I promise you.

The Grey Knights were originally founded by 9 marines gathered together by Malcador, they kind of serve as Malcador's special force as compared to the Emperor's Custodes

What a fun episode :D. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I was just wondering on the premiere blunt weapon of space marines. I would have for sure said Power Fist. I think it's more common than thunder hammers, but I'm not 100% sure.
Honestly I'd have accepted this, though I consider the Thunder Hammer to have more general knowledge of it due to video games and casual lore focus on it.

21 Primarchs guys... The Horus Heresy lore even says so, as early as Descent of Angels (I just finished reading it so now I can act like a lore sage). 2 redacted. Alpharius/Omegon are both Primarchs + the 17 others. There were 20 founding legions though. PS: this was an awesome episode.
Alpharius Omegon was one primarch at creation. Their soul split into two when they were sent through the warp, half landed back on Terra as Alpharius, half on another planet as Omegon. (Yes I'm copy-pasting this correction on every one of these comments as an Alpharius fan.)

Could the answer to 'Blunt power weapon used by space marines' also be a power fist?
You could also say just going off the wiki, a power flail, a power maul, the thing chaplains hold, and a null rod, but that might not count cause it might just be effectively an anti psyker lightning rod rather then a real weapon

- The chaos symbol has either 24 points - as 3 in each end of arrow, or infinity, since that is number of points inside the symbol itself. (like there is infinity of points inside any circle)
- does The Angel count as 0th primarch? (21 in total)
- druhkari are in denial about chaos
-didn't in some version of lore, World Eaters suggested the nails, because they wanted to be more like their primarch?
I knew they just wanted to be like their cool big brother. Lol, I have no idea but that's at least my head cannon from now on

Loved this episode! So many good laughs and being new to the fandom, it was fun guessing the answers and knowing answers that were answered wrong. There needs to be another episode of this down the line.
