The trailers are the only direct references of the characters’ involvement in past games, as the trailers show the previous outfits of characters like Mona and Dr. Crygor and the skeleton monster that Kat and Ana faced in the first game appeared. WarioWare Gold almost looked like a reboot, but thankfully the beginning cutscene tells that the tournament wasn’t the first video game scheme Wario had come up with.

I like how many of these trailers do a fantastic job referencing their older counterparts, such as Mona’s roles, the Volts’ Band, and Kat and Ana’s pets and first enemy. It’s a nice treat for fans

- I think the second one is too, but it's additionally a reference to Barbara the Bat's outfit from Jam with the Band/Daigasso Band Brothers, worn in an online comic called Daigasso Band Brothers P-Barbara and Ashley.
- The third outfit is the Mandrake Root (aka Nasty Garlic), which first appears in WarioWare Touched as one of Ashley's ingredients in her stage cutscene. Mandrake Root returns in the Potluck Gang stage from WarioWare Gold as Ashley's ingredient again; Gold is also where Red shows fear for the Mandrake Root.
- Ashley's final outfit, as well as Red's outfit afterwards, may also be from Nintendo Badge Arcade, but also appear in an online comic called Ashley Meets Halloween
- The final portion of her trailer mimics the end of Ashley Meets Halloween as well, even down to the costumes the kids are wearing (with the exception of Penny).
- Ashley blushes because she finally has friends to spend time with, something she yearns for in her song from WarioWare Touched.

- Penny's phone at her bedside is humongous like in WarioWare Gold's intro.
- The GameBoy alarm clocks from Penny and Crygor are collectible souvenirs in Gold. They're Dr Crygor's own inventions.

- Dr Crygor has had an affinity for roses ever since the first game.

- First song is from the introduction of WarioWare Gold.
- The second song used is called 18 x 13, another song from Gold used in 18-Volt's stage.

- Begins similarly to Kat and Ana's introduction cutscene from Smooth Moves.

- As Kat and Ana attack Boneheads from the first game, the pets included are Don the Sparrow (Mega Microgame$), Shadow the Dog (Mega Microgame$ as Paw, Twisted, and Touched), Shuriken the Falcon (Twisted and Touched), and a turtle (Mega Party Game$ and Smooth Moves).

- Trailer begins in a desert on the road, just like in Game & Wario.
- The second music that plays is the title theme from any of the Challenge Mode stages in WarioWare Gold.

- Takes place on mountainous peaks, not unlike in Game & Wario.
- Master Mantis makes a U appear, similar to the We-Yu-Ken from Game & Wario.
- Mona and Joe appear in their dumpling chef outfits in Young Cricket's stage from Smooth Moves.
- Young Cricket's belly growling is a recurring thing since Smooth Moves.

Wario: he’s a jerk but he throws a great tournament.
Mona: 1:17 ah memories, and an unstable job market.
Jimmy T: I make fun of the fact he wears a wig, but really mad respect for the guy. He must be something special to get a hug from Wario.
Ashley & Red: Ashley is the coolest witch in Nintendo, and red may be a devil but he’s good boy. If there’s a petition to get Ashley a spin-off game or anime I will sign.
Dr crygor and penny: he’s a genius who just gets fruitier with game, she’s a scientist who wants to be an idol(would love to hear her sing that dandy Warhols song), also Mike. Also, also, please make more cameos Doris.
The volts: always a highlight, and highlight tripled at that.
Kat and Ana: sweet kids, and a decent assist trophy. Wish I could say more about them.
Dribble and spitz and Orbulon: I swear orbulon just uses that disguise just to have an easier time stiffing them on cab fare.
Young cricket and mantis: I swear they’re weird crossover character to a parody shonen manga that doesn’t exist.
Lulu: new character but did a lot to endear herself to me, she’s a welcome addition.
Also ever hear the idea that Luigi and daisy are Mona’s parents? Wonder if there’s a similar idea about her being the daughter of Mario and Pauline.
If Lulu reappears in future WarioWare games, it should be about her taking photos like in her trailer! It would be less annoying!
