My mom bought me a pregnancy pillow and I Ioved it! Then I passed it on to my sister who is a minimalist and she used it too☺️ I highly recommend it. Even more for postpartum - it’s great for nursing. But of course you brought up 7 kiddos without it so you can obviously live without it, but it could help you rest better during pregnancy and give your shoulders and elbows a break when nursing☺️
"Where did it come from? What is is use, How long is it going to be used, Where is it going?" These questions are eye opening when applied to so many aspects of life from the stuff we bring into our home to the garden! Thanks for another great podcast! God bless you!
Oooh! Thanks for the new filter question!! “If this exact same thing were hanging in a ziploc bag at goodwill would I buy it? Would I pay that much for it?” Thanks!!
I love this episode! Great tips and concepts to share from Stephanie, and I love that she specifically asked us NOT to buy her book to model the values that she is trying to share/promote, and to get it from the library instead.
For kids: Hanna Andersson holds up. I search for it when buying 2nd hand and it still gets through both my boys! Mini Boden holds up pretty well too!
My kids wear hanna Anderson clothing that my siblings and I wore decades ago. I don’t know how they make their clothes, but it is great stuff.
Great podcast. Stephanie is very articulate with her words and gets her thoughts across very clearly. Great conversation!
When discussing the cheapness of purchased items compared to homemade I tell people that they are in a "race to the bottom" not the top. The more people that seek out the cheapest and less ethical items the farther we get from an ethical marketplace.
Hand me downs and buying second hand/ thrifted is my #1 way to get clothes for my kids and myself.
Fantastic episode!! ❤
Goooooood call on not buying the pregnancy pillow. I had the opportunity to borrow one from a friend and it was the most aggravating thing to deal with in the bed.
My mother had 12 children.
We had "Sunday clothes" that only got worn on Sunday or special occasions.
School clothes and play clothes. You homeschool so don't need the school clothes.
I really enjoyed this- thank you, both. I've checked out her podcast on youtube and started to listen to some episodes!
Soaking is a wonderful tool!
I get it that conscious consumerism is an improvement on the rampant version, but the 3rd party logos/labels are also just a marketing ploy. They enable buying without thinking.
Very good point! But what do you do when you give them the options but your relatives go against your suggestions? That can be frustrating! Especially when you then end up with tons of the same kind of thing?
I loved the topic of doing things for our environment as your quest did. I love all your suff but It was so obvious that you kept bringing the topic back to where you should buy cheap clothes or expensive kid's clothes. I have never seen you do this before, so in love, I wanted to point it out.
Really fantastic!
So good ❤
I was listening to this and my husband was in the other room. He kept piping up, disagreeing with you guys. Especially about Christmas decorations, lol! I didn't even know he felt so strongly about hoarding. I'm in charge of the house, so I definitely keep the things manageable. And I never touch his stuff or say anything about it. Everytime I clean out my closet though, he decides to clean his out.
Thanks for sharing!
Great podcast
Fantastic and informative episode!! Keep them coming! 🌞
Some of this is helpful but I feel you are being kind of hard on Grand parents? I'm not a grand parent yet but I feel they just are showing love to their grand kids and are not trying to do harm. So its not sucha big deal as this sounds.
Please don’t be fooled- I bought from CJLA after hearing the ads on this channel and not everything in their store is made in the US. Only the things listed under the basics tab and are listed as US made are US made. I was very disappointed bc I thought I didn’t need to weed through bc I was under the impression that her whole store was US-made. I didn’t even look until I received my order, and a good majority of it said imported in the tags. 😔🤦♀️
Grandparents can gift money to the child's education fund and /or build their library of classics.
The one on one time is also a great idea.
A picnic with friends for birthday.
Every Wednesday of birthday month donuts and milk for breakfast, at the park with ...
I ask myself: do I need it or do I want it? It helps me. All the best.
You are looking for a body pillow. Just a long straight pillow you ca rest head on as well and pu between knees to support hips.
In Brave New World the future depicted includes that no one darns socks anymore!
Yes. "Ending is better than mending."
🫶🏻🫶🏻 fantastic perspectives
Oxiclean on the blueberry stain.

They bring joy.
Start over k so I’m the opposite I like coming into my house and being able to see the things that make me happy I collect McKenzie child’s it’s expensive but it makes me happy! Does it get used everyday no but it can sit there and I’m happy when I look at it! My walls are full I have to many rugs to much bedding and to much furniture but I’ve worked hard my whole life and it makes me happy! As far as clothes everything is almost outsourced you’d be standing there with nothing on! And if your handed down quality clothes someone paid a good price for them in the beginning?
