Hi Thomas, just wanted to let you know that yesterday I successfully completed my first POTA activation and on CW! I made 15 QSOs on CW and 12 on SSB using my QCX mini and a Xiegu X6100. Definitely stumbled quite a bit and had to ask for callsigns multiple times but I made it through the activation just fine! For someone who has only been practicing CW for 2 months (a bunch from watching your videos) I call that a success!

Congrats!
Awesome man. You’re hooked now !!
It's really amazing how POTA/SOTA -- and videos from people like our hero, Thomas -- have increased the interest in operating CW. Congrats on completing an activation!
This is absolutely WONDERFUL! Very well done, Jonathan. I can tell you that it only gets easier from here. I hope to work you someday soon! WOO HOO!
Now the kh1 is out id love to see a head to head to the kx1. I know you may be hesitant to compare a radio no one can buy but im curious how the new compairs to the old.
Thanks for taking the time to film, and post Thomas. Always a joy. Leave the wood pile higher than you found it. I wish we all lived by that motto. Also, I could not help but just to sit and stare at the inch worm crawling around on your tuner bag... I think frame rate made him look like those old clay animation cartoons.. Nice job pulling out the quiet signals. Thank you again for posting.
Good word on the trash pickup. I do the same thing. It's not about being an environmental extremist (which I'm not) it's about being a good steward. Thanks.
Thomas , great video brother. I heard you got to meet my local Cw brother. N4aaj Scott , this past weekend. Man I have a great challenge for you. Bring the efhw and the ax1. Do half activation on one antenna and other half on the other. That would be cool. If you have a A/B switch that is. Hehe.
I did indeed! N4AAJ is a great fellow. I wasn't surprised at all to hear you're buddies. Both of you are top-shelf Ops! :)
You know, I am contemplating doing an A/B comparison sometime during an activation. I need to grab another coax switch--I keep forgetting to pack one for a test like this.
I love your videos, Thomas; I am new to Morse Code with like 5 QSOs in the last month of getting on the air. I actually find you and your Morse Code very therapeutic. Many thanks for helping me learn and the inspiration. 73s David 2E0WDT
I'm so happy you find my videos even a little useful. Thank you. Good on you for the CW practice. You'll find that soon your fluency will improve quickly. Actually getting on the air really kicks your brain into high gear. Cheers & 72, Thomas (K4SWL / M0CYI)
I have a Sangean shortwave radio, It works ok but not as well on HF the audio is kind of lower than AM, FM. Thanks for another video to get me through the morning. 73 de AI5DD
Enjoyed, Thanks for sharing. 👍👍
Always very enjoyable video, 73 KV5P
Nice activation Thomas! 73 - KF6IF
What happened to your yellow Pelican 1060 case, Thomas? The one that came with the KX1 you bought?

I still have it. It houses one of my two KX1s. :)
Question? Am I missing something? Why are you always sending "72" instead of "73"? dit dit dah dah dah instead of dit dit dit dah dah
Good question. Here's a blog post I wrote with the answer. :) qrper.com/2022/07/why-i-send-72-instead-of-73/
