- This is a relay controlled bottom driven elevator that I built from February to May 2014. It has an overall height of 8,2m, takes a maximum of 300kg of load and moves over four floors. The 1976 mashinery is made up of a 5,5HP Loher two speed asynchronous motor with high resistance cage and a Cerny-Thyssen gear. The two 10mm full steel hoisting ropes are of the type Drako 250T and are operated in double wrap configuration. The floorselector works in the scale of 1:3.
I would love to see a homemade one with sliding doors
This is what a homemade elevator should be, but with sliding door and safety, of course. And top driven as an option.
So many "pros" in the comment section. I think your elevator is fantastic and you did a wonderful job assembling it. It works the way you intended it to, just as you built it. Don't change a thing. You sir are a god among men.
I bet you work for an elevator company and yeah I stood all them parts from work. I love Overkill but oh my gosh.
From someone who has his own machine shop man I'm impressed
Each cable can handle almost 7 tons. Nice!
This is awesome!
So this uses relay logic? So many relay lifts are being got rid of, it is great to see something like this being built.
Hi, Ben
Yo
Beno Lifts do you also say the word Elevator?
Great project; I watched the 14-parter on the construction in one sitting. Always loved elevators. Love your work! :)
Wow very nice lift!If people come to your house they might think this is an old lift from 1980s but it's actually mordern.
1980s elevators are not old. 1950s are old
Pretty extravagant for home built
nice motor looks way better than some of the stuff that they sell for the home market
Looks to good to be" home built"
Fantastic job bro. That piece is killer. Great looking and working just fine. I'm in love with it. Design is awesome. Fuck the safety i wanna die in it. lol. Good job.
Агонь!
This is amazing, but one question, does this have a safety brake in case the cable snaps somewhere? Doesn't look like it does.
No
When I buy my own mansion I am getting a KONE EcoDisc MRL traction birdcage elevator that goes 100 ft/min.
Technicalboy3000 And when I'm older I'm gonna buy a unicorn!
Wow!!!! Very awesome!
it's awesome
can u help me with its components used
so that I may be able to make it for my science project
Beautiful work!
I strongly advise using a 2-speed control system, or even a variable speed drive for your comfort and for increasing the energy efficiency, thus lowering electric bill cost. If you'd like, I could help you to design such system.
amazing!!!!
Amazing!
I'm going to build one of these for 1 star rated hotel in Chinatown NYC to fix up and make it better. With it looking like a building elevator and even the sliding doors. The is going to Top Driven, six steel ropes (is that safe for the car?) To the counterweight and the car. 6 stories (basement can't be accessed to). Led Light, House Fan, emergency light, indicator, floor buttons and door open and alarm button, it does have a phone like every elevator but it's in the box type. The call button call the elevator on the floor You're on not enough and down with a door open button because it's manual not automatic door opening. Safety check for the saying it will be in a beta testing for safety. 4 passengers, 1 handicap, and 2 disabled people.
I am 99.9% sure building a homemade elevator for passenger use outside of a home in the United States would be illegal.
@@upanddownadventures i'm not in the mood for my comment because add an elevator is no a big deal
That is amazing. How did you make it?
I like that it is a little noisy ... no one could sneak in!
How much did this cost to install? Do you have the plans for sale and if so, how much? Really interested.
Barbara Duvall The total costs were about 3000€ for the raw materials, the work was my own time- 4 months fulltime. E.g. the machine I purchased for 150€, all the iron parts have been around 1500€, the deflection sheaves 350€, the ropes 245€, etc. The plans are only some hand-drawings, you see them along the way in the other videos
how do you build floorslector
Cool
you should add VF drive :)
that will make the lift smoother
Incompatible with the relay logic.
There doesn't seem to be any safety features!
Maybe I install some in future, but it´s mainly a fright elevator and used only by myself - and I have always a look at the ropes
histortech How about including at least 2 speed and automatic door? Then the elevator won't stop suddenly and the automatic door is for your convenience.
I think door latches would be handier for this configuration. Automatic doors just won't fit inside the house.
this elevator could be faster
