Our Oline was horrific last year. That’s where most of the problem lies on offense. Also our secondary was a magnet to get jump balls thrown at them. We could not stop a fade in the endzone. Hoping Elko fixes that

@@TheDevyRoyalecome on. Did y’all watch any Ag games last couple years? This was the worst OL in D1 by PFF. No QB stayed healthy. They literally missed assignments half their plays. Guys coming untouched 50% of the downs. Had nothing to do with his playing style. Play he was hurt on for the year was a missed assignment by Robinson came in untouched and went low.

@@TheDevyRoyalewell to that point he played through all of those injuries and had to break his foot by way of an unblocked blitzer to be put down! Look he’s been knocked out of a game one time with a broken foot, the “injured as usual” stuff is a common narrative, so I get it, but I really don’t see it as reality.
He missed a game with flu in 2022 but aside from that closed out the year.

I appreciate y'all taking it easy on A&M.
I like to believe I belong to the silent 2/3rds of our fan base. Unless of course provoked.
I am happy with Elko and the blue collar approach, and the thoughtful recruiting both in and out of the portal.
I am optimistic. What I care about the most, above all else, is the attitude. Specifically, the attitude towards a play. Do the players as a team play to the whistle, or do they stop when they think the play is over. That's how I intend to gage Elko's impact. That's all care about.

Thanks for the content! Very interesting tone about the A&M secondary. Most of the content I've been consuming recently suggests the secondary to be an overall strength of this team. I think this unit was one that saw a net positive gain with regards to new additions during the offseason. The secondary roster already has Elko's fingerprint's all over it. I'm looking forward now to seeing what that looks like with this elite DL.

Just a heads up guys, we still have a top 10 roster in talent and the mosr returning experience of any team in the SEC. Thomas and Moose will finally be unchained, our defensive line will be a top 3 in the SEC. Corners and linebacker (you guys didn't mention York) are still iffy, but thats elkos area of expertise. We lost some folks yes, but its not nearly as bad as its made out.
Good analysis though. I got us 10-2 best case, 7-5 worse case but 9-3 is my line.

I'm sorry, but Nolan was not as big a loss as many pundits think. He quit on a lot of plays and wasn't conditioned well, so you could only count on him for half a game. My daughter went to high school with Evan Stewart; he quit on his teammates in high school like he quit on the Aggies. These are not high effort guys that Elko likes. Still, A&M has a top 10 roster according to On3 and ESPN. #4 in portal transfers. Vegas has Weigman with 8th best odds to win the Heisman. Deep RB room. Question marks are OL, WR, and CB. Dark horse potential.

Fyi connor isnt injury prone, he wasnt starter his freshman year then when he started he missed only 1 game and that was due to the flu and half the team missed that game then his only injury was last year and it was season ending.

I think this is a fair analysis. The things that have me optimistic, as a fan, is I agree with you guys about Elko being the real deal. This program will be built in a very diff way under Elko. We know they are going to play tough physical defense. I love the addition of Klein as he is about as much of a 180 from Jimbo as you can get. Great young offensive mind.
I hate to break it down into one thing, but I do think this entire season comes down to one thing - OL
If the OL is decent to good, I think they hit that over. If they continue to struggle, it’s prob a 7 or 8 win team.
I do like Cushing and think he, again, is about as big of a 180 as an OL coach than what they had before. Very technical and very much a ‘teacher’ on the OL. They have good talent on the OL, they just need solid coaching and reasonable health to build chemistry.

    • @TheDevyRoyale

I agree entirely with the OL, especially in the SEC. It matters, and they will need to stay healthy, especially to help out Weigman.

I admit that this season will be interesting and it mostly revolves around CW staying healthy. My issue is that you both say the Aggies, if things go well, can be a 10 win team but then you say that will get them a 12th seed in the playoffs. I think if the Aggies wind up a 10 win team they will be better than a 12th seed considering who they had to beat to get there.
