2013 Ford Escape push to start not responding but remote works fine

This was the fix for a 2013 Ford Escape which was experiencing intermittent no start issue. Most common issue is remote battery being dead or possibly a bad battery or bad starter but there were symptoms that clearly proved those were not the cause for this. These symptoms are explained.
