Jurado, Eya and Millena led UST's offense. Carballo orchestrated very but. Hernandez had great middle attacks but it was Pepito who had the most meaningful contribution. She led their good floor defense that gave them a chance to win. Consistent coverage.
It was a big win but the season have just started. 11 more games to play. Carballo and Pepito will play bigger roles as the season progress.
Let’s appreciate how UST improved so much. Their defence and offence 💯

They should do what Thailand did when they invested in the likes of Chatchu-On, Ajcharaporn and Pimpichaya. Chatchu-On even started when she was just 15 yrs old.
The best part for me was when Eya sets the ball to Gula. 23:40 The legend passed the ball to another Legend in the making.

I remember saying it when ADU put a threat on NU in a 5-set thriller, the formidable NU became quite vulnerable. To scath them becomes more possible. It's an intense battle, nonetheless but I'm giving it to UST's Jurado.

Yup it gave UST that hope that they could beat NU. And they really pounced on NU’s weakness that came out in their ADU game which is their MBs. Not having Toring at 100% made it easy for the blockers to predict Lamina’s sets
After the game with ADU, it was already obvious na they are bound to be defeated na.. compare sa performance nila last season, I can really say na bumaba ang laro nila.. sana lang maging lesson toh sa NU, pero congrats sa UST, kasi deserve nila toh..

Watching them off season and the return of Alessandrini, I knew this UST team has the ability to cut NU's run, and they did. Laure finally getting the help from the scoring dept this season will get them further this time. And their rookie setter makes a big difference. Exciting matches ahead if we have teams like UST and ADU who can challenge the champs. Looking forward to NU vs DLSU

Adu exposed NU weakness with that 5 setter. I enjoy watching NU but I really appreciate them being humbled and other teams stepping up. Pinoy volleyball has really improved.

The time is now for UST. This season is their best shot at the championship. Adamson is a strong fledgling team but they need more experience. Ateneo is in a slump, La Salle while consistently formidable is still missing an X factor, and NU is in championship hangover and missing the veteran presence of Lacsina. The window is wide open for the Tigresses, who will only have the services of Laure until the end of this season, hopefully they stay consistent and they could very well be this season's champion.
STRONGLY AGREE. For me boss, ITO NA UNG PERFECT TIMING SA LINE UP NG UST. Sa last playing year ni Idol Sisi - ang kulang is middle and malalim na bench. Although nainjured si Laure, nawala na ang UST sa finals. ITO NA ANG MAMASABING ALMOST OR PERFECT TIMING LINE UP NG UST. Hopefully free injury at makuha nila ang Championship this season. 💛🔥

I;m a La Salle fan being an alumnus of the university. But I totally agree with you - ang lakas nila and ung win ng Lasalle over them last time was really a tight game. I think they can defeat Lasalle and Adamson, and if they can do that, they have a good shot at the championship, lalo na if they continue playing the way they did in this game against NU. I think since arsenal ng NU ang attacks. UST studied well and really focused on floor defense (props to detdet) and blockings. Plus, since they have good attackers too, they can really execute counter attacks. Kuddos UST! Well-deserve win

UST and Adamson figured out the proper block timing for NU’s setting. UST added also adjusted their floor defense to match the blocking.

Really, UST still needs to put a solid middle threat, unquestionable na ang power ng wing hitters from both sides. In the crucial parts of this match you can really see na nawawala ang threat sa middle w/c makes it easy for their opponent to read their attacks. I really believe na UST will enter the finals if they can put a solid threat sa middle both for offense and defense and won’t rely on their wings in the crucial runs, yun na lang talaga ang kulang.

Ok lang yan, habang maaga pa makaranas sila ng pagkatalo (tho sayang yung winstreak) para mafigure out na nila kung saan dept. pa sila dapat mag improve which i notice, medyo hirap ang middles nila sa net defense okay naman sa attacks pero off talaga sa pagblock and sa pagminimize ng errors, mahirap magbigay ng libreng puntos lalo na kung sobrang disiplinado ng kalaban sa depensa kagaya ng UST and ADU.
