  • 1-year update on the 16" SPAL brand electric fan and aluminum fan shroud setup I put together for my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 5.2L V8...
    Still all working like a champ! It's already been put to the test during the dead of summer towing my camper up mtns, idling in traffic long term with the AC full-blast (throwing ice-cubes at my face it's so cold at idle now haha) and never seen above 207 degrees ever during any if it at the absolute maximum!

    are you running a stock radiator? I want to run an all-aluminum at least two row but I am looking for a little more tried-it info from others before I pull the trigger. you've done some really nice things to this Jeep man good job. for sure going to be looking at your vids to check out the build.

      Thanks a lot, and no this is a dead-stock radiator and cooling system, minus this electric fan setup... It operates perfectly, I have zero need for a aluminum aftetmarket radiator for it. I do appreciate it though

      @phatpromo1364 Thanks so much!! Please feel free to ask me all your questions, I can answer them all for you...
      I'm driving that Jeep as we speak, it's currently 95 degrees at the moment, and 65% humidity outside, and my AC is throwing ice-cubes at my face, and the coolant temperature is currently running 186 degrees idleing right now (with running a 205 thermostat!) It'll run about 195-199 while driving with the ac on even on a day like today with that 205 thermostat and this nice electric fan setup!

I have a 3 core Aluminum Radiator and electric fan but mine doesn't suck like yours, at all. Also I have major questions about your stereo setup and the VIC replacement. Is there an more direct way to chat. So i can share pics etc?

    Nice mod and exhaust sound. What muffler brand are you using. Definitely like the Jeep screen purchased one myself to hopefully install it. But my big question is your coolant system is dope. How would I go about having you install it on my 4.0L ZJ

    • @jeepjoe1996
      @jeepjoe1996  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Thanks a lot!... It is a name brand (not a cheap knock off version) Flowmaster 40 series chambered muffler, and 4" Stainless-steel tip 18" long. Nothing special, but built to last without coming apart at the welds inside and rattling like the cheaper knock-offs do (like Thrush weleded series chambered mufflers)...
      And yeah, that's a 9" Single-din Car Joying brand Android headunit, I LOVE them! Installed 97 of those radios now from that company in the last 9 years...
      And here's a video I did on my brother's channel, on his 1997 4.0 ZJ, it's the exact same setup I put together for my 5.2 V8 engine setup, only you have almost zero clearance for a good electric fan setup on the much longer Inline-6 engines LOL...

    Also, on the lower screen does it display 4x4 status?

    • @jeepjoe1996
      @jeepjoe1996  Před rokem +1

      No it doesn't display the 4x4 stuff (no need to really being a 5.2L, it only has Full-time 4-wheel drive, Neutral, 4-Low so It's common sense what position it is in on this t-case layout atleast...
      But what I did was to install this obd-2 screen inside of my V.I.C. and wire its two buttons to the Up arrow and OK button on it, so I can control it via the stock buttons...

      Then first the door locks in the 1996-1998 Grand Cherokees, you'll need two (2) sets of these door lock relays...
      www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0009SZHR4?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
      One set inside the driver's door, and another set inside the passenger door (since from the factory they are wired separately since they had the drivers-priority door unlock feature from the factory where first unlock press did the drivers door only and the 2nd unlock press unlocked all the other doors...
      They are all wired separately, one via the DDM (Drivers Door Module), and all the other door locks get power via the PDM (Passenger Door Module)
