I’m glad you are showing how you are working toward your goals. Budgeting is so important. When I was 11-12 yrs old, my mom would have me write the checks for the house hold bills and match up all the receipts before paying off her credit card each month. It made me understand how much it cost to take care of the family.
I have had a budget since I moved out on my own at age 19. Now in my late 30s with a big girl job, the budget and expenses have changed to much!! I track everything, but I started this year tracking 4 categories, Household (Walmart and Target purchases for household items), Gas, Groceries, and Pets (I have 3 large dogs). In July those four categories added up to over $1,900.00, which is ridiculous!!!
I am mindful of saving (retirement accounts and emergency funds) but also have an app that rounds up my purchases and invests that amount into stocks and bonds. I don’t even want to think about how much things are going to cost when it’s time for me to retire. How do you save for retirement? How does retirement work in the UK? I think that would be an interesting topic that young people need to hear about. ❤

Your mom is so smart to do that! I’d definitely get my kids involved in budgeting at a young age. I didn’t learn how to budget until I was in my mid twenties and I cringe whenever I look back at all the money I wasted!
We have state pensions that everyone is entitled to as long as you pay National Insurance each year. Then we have workplace pensions provided by our employers, which are optional. They’re great because your employer matches your contribution and you get a tax relief. But I’m self employed so I pay into a tax-free savings account. I wish I had an employer to match my contributions 😂

Well done! I've been using the chase account to budget too! It gives you interest back...more than my bank account also Charlotte Rebecca's channel is good to watch! Im not working for them its just my own experience 😅

Haha! Love it 😁 Good on you for getting a good interest rate. Mine is so low I moved my savings into premium bonds instead 🙈

Do you have a plan for your £1 savings when it’s done? You could just put the £1s into your Christmas tin at the end of it. Win win.

I think I’m going to treat myself to something I wouldn’t usually splurge on like a massage ☺️
