- Grim Hollow is a grim dark fantasy Tabletop Role Play setting for fifth edition of “The world’s Greatest Roleplaying Game”. Set in the dark, godless world of Etharis, civilization has long forgotten hope and now clings desperately to isolation and xenophobia for survival.
Within the Grim Hollow Campaign Guide Game Masters will find over 200 pages of material to set adventures in the dangerous world of Etharis or create their own Grim/Dark setting. Frankly, I don't understand why WotC doesn't do trailers like these for each of their books. Would sell like HOT CAKES: This trailer is amazing to show to players, so they understand the setting and overall vibe of the campaign.

I bought this book for the transformations but feel in love with the "Fables of Etharis" and the game master tools. I love espacely the Legendary Templates and the Blood knight story.
Saw this, got the book immediately. I’ve read thru. Someone in my campaign is about to take the journey of becoming a vampire.

What level is this going to be recommended for? This looks like a fun setting to DM. Also is it going to be an exclusively prebuilt campaign or could I make a homemade version with the same setting / some encounters?
Hi Medic Gaming. ‘Grim Hollow: The Campaign Guide’ is already available from our online store and is a sourcebook designed to help GMs craft their own dark fantasy campaigns set in the world of Grim Hollow.
There is also our Fables: Citadel of the Unseen Sun adventure module which releases monthly on our website and is designed for levels 1 - 13, if you want a prebuilt Grim Hollow adventure.

I think it'd be a good idea for it to be available through either bookstores such as Barnes and Nobles if possible or on online sites for order or as a PDF. Will anything like that happen?
Hey Evan, as it stands; we currently plan to have the PDF being available through our site indefinitely. The PDF, Hardcover and other add-ons will be kept available through pre-purchasing untill a later date (prior to the release date, but as of yet unconfirmed) through our Kickstarter.
As for hardcover copies being available through bookstores, that will be an avenue we will need to discuss and look into; but I will keep you posted if that's a route we end up going!

Grim Hollow is currently in the final stages of editing, then will the hardcover copy will begin manufacturing. Our current estimated date is March for products to be shipped, the PDF will likely be available the moment we finish editing.
If you look through our site at: www.grimhollowstore.com the products page currently lists the expected dates :).

I think they said no new class or archetype in this setting. They are focusing on the setting as a whole, but one of the stretch goals was additional transformations. I expect there will be in-depth rules for lycans, fiends (the stretch goals) and also vampires.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, these last few days we have been swamped with messages across all platforms as the Kickstarter draws to a close.
As Logan has helpfully said, we will not be focusing on new classes with this project as we would like to fully flesh out Etharis as a setting. We have just announced the addition of two extra transformations in the form of Seraph and Aberrant Horror due to the unlocking of our community stretch goal!
Will there be modules or expansions for this setting?
We do plan on creating more material for this setting in the future (we haven't settled on what it will be yet, though!)

Wizards of the Coast allow 5e Campaign Guides as long as they credit the Wizards as well as fall under the same guidelines as they put themselves under when making modules. Think Humblewood Academy as well, they've been out for months and they weren't taken down.

I already created tons of playtested balanced homebrew and I am thinking the best way to publish them..
One of the things I created is how to play a balanced True Vampire with almost all its abilities and weaknesses while not ruining the fun on the table.. I read about some transformation rules in this Grim Hollow project and i wanted to make a comparison.. That is how I got interested...

I would recomend it, the transformations are well thought out and the book contains 3 mini storys and some intressting GM tools, if you look to buy a sourcebook for DnD then this is defenetly worth buying.

As to the question, the PDF will be released (at latest) by the date (March) listen on our Kickstarter. There will be earlier versions/sections released for play-testing for all interested backers.

Is it right to condemn the hunter who hunts the free and happy deer who dies in a single shot so quick that it does not feel pain........when the kings daughter wants to put the wild deer in a cage as a pet to live in fear for the rest of it's life, only to die out of starvation because the daughter was bored with the deer and forgot to feed it for days?
I just liked the setting so much that I started making a similar monologue. Anyway, I like this a lot, now that WOTC is totally disrespecting both their creators and their fans I want to put my money into this rather into WOTC's pocket

Grim Hollow isn't actually for Warhammer, it's a 5e Campaign guide. But if you wish, i'm sure you could use the ideas for Warhammer, you would need to tweak and alter the mechanics and stats to suit though! If this is something you end up doing let us know, as we'd love to see how Etharis is transposed onto other game types!

If it is _not_ decimating the rich, healthy, and young, then it is, by definition, discriminating. You might want to clean that kind of thing up in editing. =P

@@fleetcenturion Yes among that Exclusive group of individuals(poor, sick, old) it does not discriminate, unlike warlords or beasts it will kill all of those groups with no considerations. Young are not included as a group because young who are not poor(can afford aid) and are not generally sickly have a much better chance then those other 3 groups.
Nobody is paying $25 for shipping. You need to figure out a better shipping method otherwise your never getting a cent from me on any of your products. Your books are already $50. Anyone that spends $75 on a book has brain damage. Even the official stuff isn’t that steep. Even strong holds and followers was only $35 and that came with free shipping. I mean yikes. I was down right salivating to get this book in my hands and now I’m down right disgusted. No wonder no game store I know of carries your products.
