The only reason why original games do not get popular is also because of how complex they are. Say if you were to play a simulator, it would be really easy to understand. While the original games have their own instructions on how to play it. And considering that there are kids on the platform, Vibrant colors, and easy instructions are what you need to make a game popular
I agree with you for the most part, (putting Robot 64, Microwave Dinner, and Find Everything as good Roblox games was a W decision) but if Roblox puts a free 2 play tab, it still wouldn’t be fair, considering the tab would be based off of the amount of game passes, but not all game passes are pay 2 win. For example, Piggy. It does have a lot of game passes, but they are mostly used to get cosmetics, most of the other stuff takes skill. Oh also, remember this about Find Everything: it already has 220 things to find, BUT IS STILL NOT EVEN COMPLETE.
ROBLOX legit needs to bring back the game Genre filter, you can search for a specific word but you'll soon enough be bombarded with thousands of unrelated or bad quality games. It's so stupid they took that away from the website and pretty much makes the place genre options useless now unless your game gets featured on the main page.
I'm honestly glad you mentioned Ragdoll Universe in this video. In my opinion, it is by far the best roblox shooter of all time. In fact, the game got me more interesting in shooter games in the first place, so yeah it's fantastic. To anyone reading this, PLEASE check it out. The only problem I can see for beginners is that there's a lot of pro players playing the game more, so you might have trouble winning games, but other than that the game is a BLAST (you do have the endless mode though, where more beginners play, so I guess it's better if you go endless to get used to aiming and the movement of the game).

You’ve made a lot of good points in this video. I agree with how these lower quality games manage to surpass higher quality games. A while ago, I was playing some of these simulator games for no reason then I quit after like 10 minutes. And I didn’t achieve any fun, it’s just repetitive gameplay that numbs you drains hours of your time in where it’s pointless. Also a shooter game I recommend is Noobs vs Zombies: Realish! It’s a super fun & comedic shooter with many classes to choose from. Lots of challenges to do for rewards, and lots of customization! It’s always been my favorite game on Roblox ever since I first started playing in 2016. But there is really only pro players. So it will take a while to get used to the shooting. Great video! 👍

I really like the upgrading system as well, terminal velocity is super fun to use and you just get unlimited Jetpack fuel. The shotgun guys with the shields were super annoying at first lol

i heavily agree with you, i had been playing roblox for 5 years and my boyfriend has been playing it since 2010. we both have gotten bored for roblox cause of the amount of awful games there are on the front page that nowadays we look for actual good games to play instead of these stupid cashgrab games on twitter. we are also both small roblox developer as well, we are currently working on a non profit fan game project based of cult of the lamb. we both struggle a lot to get players on our game, we are working on a huge update but still, we rarely get players sadly... i think the simulator games are the biggest threat, it makes it LOOK like all there is are simulator games since they get pushed to the top of the tab. but yeah, amazing video, all points are right on the target.

Feel like I'm getting old, pretty much, I started as these guests, moved on to be a roblox noob now moved to be a tryhard, and now moved to a chill player (for 2 years), moved to be a developer, and moved on to be a retired developer, then quit roblox. I feel much nostalgia looking back at the games I played earlier, looking at the roblox youtubers to 2016 - 2019, even tho I have played TOO much, I can't play any other games. I've played Robot 64 while beta to full release, and earlier in the years I played these funny ragdoll games. Any of these games was a hit these days, I remember the myths, the random games I search from newbie users who spams free models and looks enjoyable, boss games (example: Thanoid or The Chosen Bosses or Boss Battle Minigames 3, Epic Boss Fights), the core games (example: Innovation Labs), Simulator games (my most played was Godzilla Simulator, and Angel VS Demons) and others. I always watched DanTDM back then, denisdaily, albertstuff (not flamingo). Pretty much what I did was amazing and got my heart feel joy for eternity, I can't play any more games, and make any more games. This video was relatable, pretty much modern roblox feels empty, and repetetive these years, god I wish 2017 was a year that never ends.
Underrated games are hidden gems that are hard to find. I struggle to find good games and I know many that deserve to be popular. Roblox just has boring and repetitive game on the homepage to get a child's attention and just get quick cash.
Has dev is hard to propose not boring experiences , and has a player that hard to find content that proposes enjoyable mechanics but sometimes you can find little pieces of gold .
I don’t find Roblox boring but a lot of underrated games get pushed back by the algorithm like you said so here’s some fun games people may want to try. 1. Apeirophobia a fun Backrooms horror game with amazing graphics! 2. Derilect A Elden Ring style survival game where you complete quests gather ores resources, plants, craft weapons cut down trees kill bosses and unlock spells. 3. Parkour reborn this game does cost robux at the moment but it is a very fun parkour game made by the owners of the og game Parkour from 2016 the game has great graphics and is just really fun to play alone or with friends. Also Sometimes I also just go back to old games I used to play like Murder Mystery 2, Build A Boat For Treasure, Islands, and many more games. Hope this helps someone find fun games on Roblox!
Other Games that are very VERY underrated is PHIGHTING! Its a 2 team based game were the goal is to get the most kills in Annihilate mode, Stand in a circle to get the most time in your team, and so much more stuff to check out!

Re:infected is a true passion project and could probably be mistaken for a real steam indie game if you change the maps and characters. Because the fun part is that the maps are old roblox games like Area 51 and Bottom Rock Cafe. The main twist to the game is that zombies insta kill and working together to form a group is the only way to survive. Only made by one guy too as far as im aware. And if you haven't already, PLAY ADVENTURE FORWARD 2! YOU'LL REGRET NOT PLAYING IT!
i want to recommend another game that i dont think enough people are talking about. this game is called The Day the Noobs took over Roblox (TDTNTOR) It’s an obby game where you travel through many different obstacles to stop the leader of the noobs. this game is one of if not THE MOST creative obby games i have ever played on roblox, and it has LORE. the only other obby game i can think of that has lore is A Stereotypical Obby. masterpieces like this game are no where to be seen on the front page while these quick cash grab games are getting thousands upon thousands of active players. so, if you are reading this, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GO PLAY TDTNTOR ITS SUCH A GOOD GAME OH MY GOSH
For me the issue is no original content. Back in 2017 I remember most of the obbies on the front page had a similar style but had different obstacles (Fatpaps, Sploshy's Fan Group). Now the obbies with a "Similar Style" are just complete copies of the already garbage Barry's Prison Run with a different variant of Barry. Of Course clickbait obbies were still an issue back in 2017 but I wasn't completely bored like I am now.
as someone who has played roblox since 2016, it feels like ive played everything that made me exited to play, and now there are just no more actual god, exiting games i would like to play.

The thing is, new roblox also has WAY better games than older roblox. You can just avoid the copy and pasted games, and search for a good game by looking for games with low player counts or using a game randomizer.. game.
I honestly attribute this moreso to the addition of devex in 2015. It could be nostalgia, but games back then were simple and they were passion projects to buy accessories on the store rather than a way to make money. Of course however, without something like devex, games also wouldn't be as big a project as well... there's no monetization

Glad to see Ragdoll Universe featured here, but I have some unfortunate downsides to the game (this doesn't mean you shouldn't check it out, more so to be aware of). 1. Lack of updates: The devs are busy on Doors and Redibles (the other developer) has little to no passion for the game anymore. For instance at the time of writing this comment its still the Halloween update in January. 2. Sweats/Experienced Players: Due to the very small size of the game experienced players have no where to go but on the 1 - 3 servers available. This means most new players can never become experienced (it's an endless vicious cycle which is one of the factors of the game dying). 3. Toxic Community: By no means is the entire community toxic, but some of the community members are very toxic so I would look out for that. Now I do not hate the game at all, infact it's my favorite game on the platform (I have been playing for a year and am around level 290 at the time of writing) however gameplay as been getting stale due to lack of updates and sweats being frustrating. However I would highly HIGHLY recommend you play the game and stick at it. I would play endless until you think you are ready for Mayhem because that's where all the better players go. Good luck!

Genuinely i wished i still found Roblox fun but ever since then i've just no longer interested in all the games i used to play, that being Entrenched, Trench Warfare, Blood and Iron. I miss when i was still grinding/just playing them with great interest.

honestly for me it's the games and devs which are getting lazy to find ideas, why Roblox is pushing copies to the front page always and dosen't let a chance to smaller devs? recently i started Robot64 which is a mario 64 but in roblox and it was amazing, i just want to have fun not play the exact same game or just stading afk while the game is playing for me, i just want devs to get unique.
Imo It's not because of getting older. It's because barely any game is truly unique anymore. It's all the same stuff in some way or another. It's hard to find actually good and interesting games at all anymore.

I completely agree with all of your points here, but I feel like you missed one reason why it's getting worse. It's more of a subcategory that blends with simulators, cash grabs, and copy and paste. The worst of the worst. I'm talking about games shipped out over and over that are 100% dedicated to scamming and attracting kids from 5-12. A huge example is one of the largest games on the platform right now, BladeBall. The game puts loot box wheel front and center for kids to spend their money on, even though there is proof that it is botched, and the chances are lower than it says, it adds emphasis to the big rewards to draw kids in. The gameplay itself is a tactic to get beginners to spend money to get better. I've played it for around 30 minutes, and could barely last a minute in the rounds due to how many people there were that spent money. It uses events and special time windows to entice children even more to spend more money. It is extremely pay to win and you can't have fun in the game unless you grind for hours or spend a lot of money. Finally, they have put off putting any effort into the game, as they mindlessly copy and paste skins and updates. Sorry for the rant, but I thought I had to get it out.
I understand that sometimes companies need to become corporations because it makes them seem more sophisticate and makes them even more money, but seriously. Come on. Roblox, please turn back into your good old learning and social platform where you'd push random games to the front page all the time and give people actually fun things to play, so other people can have opportunities to spend hours making a game and have people give it some love.
Its just all these copy and paste Battleground games, Anime games, Clicking games. Thing is, I recently found a game called "Project Smash". Its a Battleground type game, but it actually mostly original and EXTREMLY fun to play. Its just a big breath of fresh air
Another REALLY underrated game is Zeppelin Wars. You may have heard of "when the", and the developer who made that game is a (former) developer in Zeppelin Wars. "when the" was originally a gamenight game in the Zeppelin Wars community Discord. Zeppelin wars is COMPLETELY free to play and is a pretty fun simple game about destroying enemy zeppelins and leveling up and unlocking new guns. Another fun game is Aeronautica, which has a MASSIVE detailed map, tons of planes and everything is literally free to play.
you actually have some really good points. most roblox games i've been stumbling upon have been like; simulators, copies of other games and really unoriginal, it's honestly quite saddening how most high quality roblox games seem to have less attention than whatever dwells in the discover page. If you like ragdoll universe, I'd suggest that if you havent, try out a game called the flappy men. It's similar to RU, but is class based and uses loadouts.
To be fair ps99 (ik u didnt mention it but just saying) is actually good and they spent time making it but most simulators are copy paste But cool video no hate!
my way of finding it fun again is reverting roblox back, literally, go play retro studio, if u cant find the game u want, go create it in retro studio, its so fun, and has full mobile support.
I am a veteran on roblox and im sad that some of the games that i liked are dead or p2w or ppl are super toxic and i enter on mm2 a game that i liked but now i just see server full of toxic ppl and im sad they dont have moderation at all.
A good example of roblox not caring about underrated good games is Zeekerss, you might know him because he's the creator of 2 masterpieces "Lethal Company" and "It Steals". He was a former roblox developer but quit because his games never really got any attention. So he decided to move on to Unity and recently created one of the most popular games on steam and outselling Call of Duty ONLY in a total of 2 months after Lethal Company released. It just goes to show that if you want to make a good game.. Just make one on Steam. Note that he did had to work for multiple years and create many games in order to reach the finally reach the point of success with Lethal Company.. Oh and also he's a solo dev.
I used to play games like arcane adventures so much back in 2016 and 2017, it really sucks that it broke because of the FE update, i grinded alot on that game and im around level 125, i cannot check the exact details now because the game seems to be privated now
imo, it comes down to if you can find food games or not, you should never play games that dont have many interesting themes or topics, if you want an example theres this roblox game called blackhawk rescue mission 5, now, it may be a roleplay game but they more or less forgot it was a roleplay game and turned it into a fun open world co-op shooter, clearing hostile locations and exploring the map, getting better gear as you play, and soon they'll be adding an animation and graphics overhaul, its amazing really, another thing that could count are roblox games that decided to truly grow, for example unturned was a roblox game, however, since it was released around the time of apocalypse rising people called it a copy and didnt pay much attention to it, the devs of unturned decided to expand onto steam and now its an amazing game with lots of modding capability, if you do read this then do please tell me about your opinion on well, my opinion

i agree with the reasons in this video, but i have more reasons i find roblox boring nowadays: no one just seems to use the chat anymore. almost every single server i join is just silent, unless its a very populated game like natural disaster survival and meepcity, or someone has a friend in the server with them. a lot of the good old games i played back then were only updated enough to not be broken with no change such as prison life, or are just too broken to play, like welcome to the town of robloxia. some of them even have sequels that caused the original to be discontinued like roblox high school. roblox quite literally was at its peak in 2015 and 2016. back then every game on the front page was really unique, except for tycoons and obbies (which were pretty much the c&p games of those years, and a lot of them still get copied today in the simulator style). the roblox engine was so simplistic back then, everything you needed but nothing that you didnt. im talking about the fact r6 was the only available animation, there was no voice chat or dynamic face, uncanny realistic avatars (or realistic graphics in general), just fun. im not gonna pretend nobody copied avatar styles back then, but there was just so much more variety and fun added to them. nowadays, i only see black and white slender like avatars, or those troll avatars. ive noticed that the gears dont seem to work anymore, like they dont appear in your backpack in most games. technically thats just robux down the drain.
not only are 99% of roblox games trash, but the good ones change over time. they change and morph into something completely different than what made it fun and charming. rip treasure quest and the depths of reality. i memorised and found out an entire wikipedia's worth of info just by playing and asking talking to people and experimenting with bugs and whatnot.
The sad is thing is that Roblox doesn't care what games are on the front page + I feel like the Simulators have gotten so based - When u start the game then its so easy to make progress, and then bit later it becomes a full grind game for some reason.

Late reply, but than you so much for making this comment tbh, when I got older and continue playing Roblox I thought that it was me getting older but in reality, it was because a game I loved was shut-down and I had my own personal issues in real life that left me depressed/burn-out, nowadays I've figure out my issues and realized that Roblox and other games I enjoy such as Minecraft, etc, their actually good games and it isn't me that feel bad is just that there's other factors that affect the game such as a different community, constant updates, different games, etc.
I mainly play rake games as they aren't repetitive and boring as popular roblox games just play The RakOOF/The Rake Noob Edition and play the game for a while and the game doesn't get boring, just don't die or you lose your items.
as a person thats soon to be going to be learning scripting soon, i can confirm i will try to make an extremely original game that will probably be called "The Eclipse Of Destruction." it will probably be an adventure game in which you unlock more abilities throughout the game as you complete more stages of obstacles, and it will also have an incredible storyline and cutscenes which ive already planned on. it will be based off a heart-written story ive made a long time ago thats still being written to this day
My reason on why I think Roblox is boring is because I've played many of the games that peak my interest, and the games have overall gotten more repetitive.
My personal two favorite games (which I STILL go back and forth on which I like more) is Item Asylum and Guts and Blackpowder. Item Asylum is a randomizer filled with tons of cool gamemodes and have a ton of genuinely fun and exciting moments. You spawn with three items, one melee, one ranged, and one miscellaneous item. The goal of the game (depending on the game mode) is to get as many kills as possible. The gamemodes include, free for all, zombie survival, tower control, juggernaut, kit, boss, and team deathmatch. This honestly is one of the best Roblox games I've ever played, it's hard for me to even describe what it's like. Highly recommend you try it out, and even grab some friends and hop into a (free) private server. The other game, Guts and Blackpowder, is a zombie game set in the Napoleonic era (which is probably why I like it so much because I'm a giant nerd.) This !means instead of a game like Michael's Zombies where you have rifles or literal rayguns, all you have to survive is a musket and sabre. (depending on which class you choose, but I'll get to that soon) There are I believe 7 classes you can play as one being the average troop spawning with a musket and sabre, the officer, spawning with a pistol and sabre, the unique thing about officers is they have a charge ability, temporarily increasing speed and swinging speed of your melee weapon. There's the fife which plays music to buff a certain ability depending on the instrument you choose. There's the seaman which has a blunderbuss for crowd control and a sabre, a sapper which has a hammer for building and axe for melee, however it swings slower than the sabre. There's also the surgeon who just heals wounds, and finally the priest. The priest is a vital class which you have to grind a lot for it. (That may scare you off, but that's the only class you need to grind for) a priest comes with a stake and crucifix. You may be wondering how he is so important if the sapper keeps zombies away by building, or how the surgeon will stitch up wounds. The priest outshines almost all the classes because he can cure you of infection. Not only that, but he also can charge up his crucifix and create a temporary barrier that zombies cannot cross. There are two gamemodes, objective and endless. Endless is just your average survive until you're overrun gamemode, but in objective, you have to cross hordes of zombies all throughout the map protecting your teammates as you slowly inch your way to the final objective, where you fend off a massive horde until rescue finally arrives. Like I said, very, very, VERY hard for me to pick between this and Item Asylum so I recommend you try both of them out and see which one is more your taste. Or maybe even none of them are which is fine. TLDR; Item Asylum and Guts and Blackpowder are amazing games that I highly recommend and are my current favorite games on Roblox.
This is quite normal because if a game is bad and boring or copies that are trash they will have a very big influence by their simplicity Especially for children who are mostly attracted to this kind of content and because of this influence and the number of people playing the game Players who prefer complex ones will also be intrigued and will definitely play to find out why such a game is so famous. parkour reborn is another awesome game, set to release in may, the beta is currently 350 and there isn't much content as the map is only a fraction of what it should be. In my opinion reborn and bee swarm simulator (where instead of pay to win it has macros where you basically need to afk without using your PC to get loot) saved me from leaving roblox forever.
as a small developer myself, i can confidently say that the front page won't be changing anytime soon. It'll stay the same as long as cashgrab, no effort simulators prove to be the best method of making money. It's honestly sad to see roblox choosing to pick games that make the most money rather than actually good games that small devs put actual effort into
i got so bored from roblox games that ive devoted most of my time to make the most balanced, most fun, most chaotic FPS game in the entire platform, while still having some gamepasses that aren't p2w literally a better version of battlefield 2042

Frontlines is an awesome Roblox game. It gets almost no players because of Roblox's algorithm. I make games, but when searching them up, Roblox's algorithm burries it under a ton of games of which aren't even related to it. I'm assuming Roblox changed their algorithm in early 2023 but it will always put higher performing games over your games. I like developing to have fun, I do it all of the time.

I agree with you for the most part, (putting Robot 64, Microwave Dinner, and Find Everything as good Roblox games was a W decision) but if Roblox puts a free 2 play tab, it still wouldn’t be fair, considering the tab would be based off of the amount of game passes, but not all game passes are pay 2 win. For example, Piggy. It does have a lot of game passes, but they are mostly used to get cosmetics, most of the other stuff takes skill.
Oh also, remember this about Find Everything: it already has 220 things to find, BUT IS STILL NOT EVEN COMPLETE.

ROBLOX legit needs to bring back the game Genre filter, you can search for a specific word but you'll soon enough be bombarded with thousands of unrelated or bad quality games. It's so stupid they took that away from the website and pretty much makes the place genre options useless now unless your game gets featured on the main page.

I'm honestly glad you mentioned Ragdoll Universe in this video. In my opinion, it is by far the best roblox shooter of all time. In fact, the game got me more interesting in shooter games in the first place, so yeah it's fantastic. To anyone reading this, PLEASE check it out. The only problem I can see for beginners is that there's a lot of pro players playing the game more, so you might have trouble winning games, but other than that the game is a BLAST (you do have the endless mode though, where more beginners play, so I guess it's better if you go endless to get used to aiming and the movement of the game).

You’ve made a lot of good points in this video. I agree with how these lower quality games manage to surpass higher quality games. A while ago, I was playing some of these simulator games for no reason then I quit after like 10 minutes. And I didn’t achieve any fun, it’s just repetitive gameplay that numbs you drains hours of your time in where it’s pointless. Also a shooter game I recommend is Noobs vs Zombies: Realish! It’s a super fun & comedic shooter with many classes to choose from. Lots of challenges to do for rewards, and lots of customization! It’s always been my favorite game on Roblox ever since I first started playing in 2016. But there is really only pro players. So it will take a while to get used to the shooting. Great video! 👍

I really like the upgrading system as well, terminal velocity is super fun to use and you just get unlimited Jetpack fuel. The shotgun guys with the shields were super annoying at first lol

we both have gotten bored for roblox cause of the amount of awful games there are on the front page that nowadays we look for actual good games to play instead of these stupid cashgrab games on twitter.
we are also both small roblox developer as well, we are currently working on a non profit fan game project based of cult of the lamb.

I remember when robot 64 first came out, and was one of the most popular games on the platform, Glad to hear someone talk about it again!
Feel like I'm getting old, pretty much, I started as these guests, moved on to be a roblox noob now moved to be a tryhard, and now moved to a chill player (for 2 years), moved to be a developer, and moved on to be a retired developer, then quit roblox.
I feel much nostalgia looking back at the games I played earlier, looking at the roblox youtubers to 2016 - 2019, even tho I have played TOO much, I can't play any other games.
I've played Robot 64 while beta to full release, and earlier in the years I played these funny ragdoll games.
Any of these games was a hit these days,
I remember the myths,
the random games I search from newbie users who spams free models and looks enjoyable,
boss games (example: Thanoid or The Chosen Bosses or Boss Battle Minigames 3, Epic Boss Fights),
the core games (example: Innovation Labs),
Simulator games (my most played was Godzilla Simulator, and Angel VS Demons)
and others.
I always watched DanTDM back then, denisdaily, albertstuff (not flamingo).
Pretty much what I did was amazing and got my heart feel joy for eternity, I can't play any more games, and make any more games.
This video was relatable, pretty much modern roblox feels empty, and repetetive these years, god I wish 2017 was a year that never ends.

Underrated games are hidden gems that are hard to find. I struggle to find good games and I know many that deserve to be popular. Roblox just has boring and repetitive game on the homepage to get a child's attention and just get quick cash.
Has dev is hard to propose not boring experiences , and has a player that hard to find content that proposes enjoyable mechanics but sometimes you can find little pieces of gold .
I don’t find Roblox boring but a lot of underrated games get pushed back by the algorithm like you said so here’s some fun games people may want to try.
1. Apeirophobia a fun Backrooms horror game with amazing graphics!
2. Derilect A Elden Ring style survival game where you complete quests gather ores resources, plants, craft weapons cut down trees kill bosses and unlock spells.
3. Parkour reborn this game does cost robux at the moment but it is a very fun parkour game made by the owners of the og game Parkour from 2016 the game has great graphics and is just really fun to play alone or with friends.
Also Sometimes I also just go back to old games I used to play like Murder Mystery 2, Build A Boat For Treasure, Islands, and many more games.

Re:infected is a true passion project and could probably be mistaken for a real steam indie game if you change the maps and characters. Because the fun part is that the maps are old roblox games like Area 51 and Bottom Rock Cafe. The main twist to the game is that zombies insta kill and working together to form a group is the only way to survive. Only made by one guy too as far as im aware. And if you haven't already, PLAY ADVENTURE FORWARD 2! YOU'LL REGRET NOT PLAYING IT!

For me the issue is no original content. Back in 2017 I remember most of the obbies on the front page had a similar style but had different obstacles (Fatpaps, Sploshy's Fan Group). Now the obbies with a "Similar Style" are just complete copies of the already garbage Barry's Prison Run with a different variant of Barry.
Of Course clickbait obbies were still an issue back in 2017 but I wasn't completely bored like I am now.

I honestly attribute this moreso to the addition of devex in 2015. It could be nostalgia, but games back then were simple and they were passion projects to buy accessories on the store rather than a way to make money. Of course however, without something like devex, games also wouldn't be as big a project as well... there's no monetization

Glad to see Ragdoll Universe featured here, but I have some unfortunate downsides to the game (this doesn't mean you shouldn't check it out, more so to be aware of).
1. Lack of updates: The devs are busy on Doors and Redibles (the other developer) has little to no passion for the game anymore. For instance at the time of writing this comment its still the Halloween update in January.
2. Sweats/Experienced Players: Due to the very small size of the game experienced players have no where to go but on the 1 - 3 servers available. This means most new players can never become experienced (it's an endless vicious cycle which is one of the factors of the game dying).
3. Toxic Community: By no means is the entire community toxic, but some of the community members are very toxic so I would look out for that.
Now I do not hate the game at all, infact it's my favorite game on the platform (I have been playing for a year and am around level 290 at the time of writing) however gameplay as been getting stale due to lack of updates and sweats being frustrating. However I would highly HIGHLY recommend you play the game and stick at it. I would play endless until you think you are ready for Mayhem because that's where all the better players go. Good luck!

honestly for me it's the games and devs which are getting lazy to find ideas, why Roblox is pushing copies to the front page always and dosen't let a chance to smaller devs? recently i started Robot64 which is a mario 64 but in roblox and it was amazing, i just want to have fun not play the exact same game or just stading afk while the game is playing for me, i just want devs to get unique.

I completely agree with all of your points here, but I feel like you missed one reason why it's getting worse. It's more of a subcategory that blends with simulators, cash grabs, and copy and paste. The worst of the worst. I'm talking about games shipped out over and over that are 100% dedicated to scamming and attracting kids from 5-12. A huge example is one of the largest games on the platform right now, BladeBall. The game puts loot box wheel front and center for kids to spend their money on, even though there is proof that it is botched, and the chances are lower than it says, it adds emphasis to the big rewards to draw kids in. The gameplay itself is a tactic to get beginners to spend money to get better. I've played it for around 30 minutes, and could barely last a minute in the rounds due to how many people there were that spent money. It uses events and special time windows to entice children even more to spend more money. It is extremely pay to win and you can't have fun in the game unless you grind for hours or spend a lot of money. Finally, they have put off putting any effort into the game, as they mindlessly copy and paste skins and updates. Sorry for the rant, but I thought I had to get it out.
I understand that sometimes companies need to become corporations because it makes them seem more sophisticate and makes them even more money, but seriously. Come on. Roblox, please turn back into your good old learning and social platform where you'd push random games to the front page all the time and give people actually fun things to play, so other people can have opportunities to spend hours making a game and have people give it some love.

Its just all these copy and paste Battleground games, Anime games, Clicking games. Thing is, I recently found a game called "Project Smash". Its a Battleground type game, but it actually mostly original and EXTREMLY fun to play. Its just a big breath of fresh air
Another REALLY underrated game is Zeppelin Wars. You may have heard of "when the", and the developer who made that game is a (former) developer in Zeppelin Wars. "when the" was originally a gamenight game in the Zeppelin Wars community Discord.
Zeppelin wars is COMPLETELY free to play and is a pretty fun simple game about destroying enemy zeppelins and leveling up and unlocking new guns.
Another fun game is Aeronautica, which has a MASSIVE detailed map, tons of planes and everything is literally free to play.

you actually have some really good points. most roblox games i've been stumbling upon have been like; simulators, copies of other games and really unoriginal, it's honestly quite saddening how most high quality roblox games seem to have less attention than whatever dwells in the discover page. If you like ragdoll universe, I'd suggest that if you havent, try out a game called the flappy men. It's similar to RU, but is class based and uses loadouts.
To be fair ps99 (ik u didnt mention it but just saying) is actually good and they spent time making it but most simulators are copy paste

A good example of roblox not caring about underrated good games is Zeekerss, you might know him because he's the creator of 2 masterpieces "Lethal Company" and "It Steals". He was a former roblox developer but quit because his games never really got any attention. So he decided to move on to Unity and recently created one of the most popular games on steam and outselling Call of Duty ONLY in a total of 2 months after Lethal Company released. It just goes to show that if you want to make a good game.. Just make one on Steam.
Note that he did had to work for multiple years and create many games in order to reach the finally reach the point of success with Lethal Company.. Oh and also he's a solo dev.

I used to play games like arcane adventures so much back in 2016 and 2017, it really sucks that it broke because of the FE update, i grinded alot on that game and im around level 125, i cannot check the exact details now because the game seems to be privated now
imo, it comes down to if you can find food games or not, you should never play games that dont have many interesting themes or topics, if you want an example theres this roblox game called blackhawk rescue mission 5, now, it may be a roleplay game but they more or less forgot it was a roleplay game and turned it into a fun open world co-op shooter, clearing hostile locations and exploring the map, getting better gear as you play, and soon they'll be adding an animation and graphics overhaul, its amazing really, another thing that could count are roblox games that decided to truly grow, for example unturned was a roblox game, however, since it was released around the time of apocalypse rising people called it a copy and didnt pay much attention to it, the devs of unturned decided to expand onto steam and now its an amazing game with lots of modding capability, if you do read this then do please tell me about your opinion on well, my opinion

i agree with the reasons in this video, but i have more reasons i find roblox boring nowadays:
no one just seems to use the chat anymore. almost every single server i join is just silent, unless its a very populated game like natural disaster survival and meepcity, or someone has a friend in the server with them.
a lot of the good old games i played back then were only updated enough to not be broken with no change such as prison life, or are just too broken to play, like welcome to the town of robloxia. some of them even have sequels that caused the original to be discontinued like roblox high school.
roblox quite literally was at its peak in 2015 and 2016. back then every game on the front page was really unique, except for tycoons and obbies (which were pretty much the c&p games of those years, and a lot of them still get copied today in the simulator style). the roblox engine was so simplistic back then, everything you needed but nothing that you didnt. im talking about the fact r6 was the only available animation, there was no voice chat or dynamic face, uncanny realistic avatars (or realistic graphics in general), just fun.
im not gonna pretend nobody copied avatar styles back then, but there was just so much more variety and fun added to them. nowadays, i only see black and white slender like avatars, or those troll avatars.
ive noticed that the gears dont seem to work anymore, like they dont appear in your backpack in most games. technically thats just robux down the drain.
The gears do work, but many games don't allow gears for obvious reasons.
not only are 99% of roblox games trash, but the good ones change over time. they change and morph into something completely different than what made it fun and charming. rip treasure quest and the depths of reality. i memorised and found out an entire wikipedia's worth of info just by playing and asking talking to people and experimenting with bugs and whatnot.

Late reply, but than you so much for making this comment tbh, when I got older and continue playing Roblox I thought that it was me getting older but in reality, it was because a game I loved was shut-down and I had my own personal issues in real life that left me depressed/burn-out, nowadays I've figure out my issues and realized that Roblox and other games I enjoy such as Minecraft, etc, their actually good games and it isn't me that feel bad is just that there's other factors that affect the game such as a different community, constant updates, different games, etc.
I mainly play rake games as they aren't repetitive and boring as popular roblox games just play The RakOOF/The Rake Noob Edition and play the game for a while and the game doesn't get boring, just don't die or you lose your items.

My reason on why I think Roblox is boring is because I've played many of the games that peak my interest, and the games have overall gotten more repetitive.
My personal two favorite games (which I STILL go back and forth on which I like more) is Item Asylum and Guts and Blackpowder.
Item Asylum is a randomizer filled with tons of cool gamemodes and have a ton of genuinely fun and exciting moments. You spawn with three items, one melee, one ranged, and one miscellaneous item. The goal of the game (depending on the game mode) is to get as many kills as possible. The gamemodes include, free for all, zombie survival, tower control, juggernaut, kit, boss, and team deathmatch. This honestly is one of the best Roblox games I've ever played, it's hard for me to even describe what it's like. Highly recommend you try it out, and even grab some friends and hop into a (free) private server. The other game, Guts and Blackpowder, is a zombie game set in the Napoleonic era (which is probably why I like it so much because I'm a giant nerd.) This !means instead of a game like Michael's Zombies where you have rifles or literal rayguns, all you have to survive is a musket and sabre. (depending on which class you choose, but I'll get to that soon)
There are I believe 7 classes you can play as one being the average troop spawning with a musket and sabre, the officer, spawning with a pistol and sabre, the unique thing about officers is they have a charge ability, temporarily increasing speed and swinging speed of your melee weapon. There's the fife which plays music to buff a certain ability depending on the instrument you choose. There's the seaman which has a blunderbuss for crowd control and a sabre, a sapper which has a hammer for building and axe for melee, however it swings slower than the sabre. There's also the surgeon who just heals wounds, and finally the priest. The priest is a vital class which you have to grind a lot for it. (That may scare you off, but that's the only class you need to grind for) a priest comes with a stake and crucifix. You may be wondering how he is so important if the sapper keeps zombies away by building, or how the surgeon will stitch up wounds. The priest outshines almost all the classes because he can cure you of infection. Not only that, but he also can charge up his crucifix and create a temporary barrier that zombies cannot cross. There are two gamemodes, objective and endless. Endless is just your average survive until you're overrun gamemode, but in objective, you have to cross hordes of zombies all throughout the map protecting your teammates as you slowly inch your way to the final objective, where you fend off a massive horde until rescue finally arrives. Like I said, very, very, VERY hard for me to pick between this and Item Asylum so I recommend you try both of them out and see which one is more your taste. Or maybe even none of them are which is fine.
TLDR; Item Asylum and Guts and Blackpowder are amazing games that I highly recommend and are my current favorite games on Roblox.
This is quite normal because if a game is bad and boring or copies that are trash they will have a very big influence by their simplicity
Especially for children who are mostly attracted to this kind of content and because of this influence and the number of people playing the game Players who prefer complex ones will also be intrigued and will definitely play to find out why such a game is so famous.
And that's literally how Roblox has a bad image because especially shit games that have a huge amount of players who are as I said before kids which will then be played by more mature or mentally stronger players and it's just because of a shitty game that will rate the game so roblox in general from that
It's also the fault of the moderators but let's not talk about it, it's terrible, even worse than their community, they are clearly people who were born to create disaster. They clearly not working on the game which is literally for kids (I'm talking about normal kids who aren't on TikTok or idiots who are completely lost because of brain rot). and keep made some shit 17+ or gay games the ban system is terrible the hacks are repeated the toxicity everywhere the community is out of control roblox is dead now

Even tho roblox might be getting to corporate and desperate for money, you know what will never change? Playing a roblox horror game with the boys.
parkour reborn is another awesome game, set to release in may, the beta is currently 350 and there isn't much content as the map is only a fraction of what it should be. In my opinion reborn and bee swarm simulator (where instead of pay to win it has macros where you basically need to afk without using your PC to get loot) saved me from leaving roblox forever.

as a small developer myself, i can confidently say that the front page won't be changing anytime soon. It'll stay the same as long as cashgrab, no effort simulators prove to be the best method of making money. It's honestly sad to see roblox choosing to pick games that make the most money rather than actually good games that small devs put actual effort into
i got so bored from roblox games that ive devoted most of my time to make the most balanced, most fun, most chaotic FPS game in the entire platform, while still having some gamepasses that aren't p2w literally a better version of battlefield 2042

Frontlines is an awesome Roblox game. It gets almost no players because of Roblox's algorithm. I make games, but when searching them up, Roblox's algorithm burries it under a ton of games of which aren't even related to it. I'm assuming Roblox changed their algorithm in early 2023 but it will always put higher performing games over your games. I like developing to have fun, I do it all of the time.
