You know... This question bloody got me. What is it that makes our hearts heavier? Love or death? I guess in Sergio's case it was definitely both. And life, as Andres said. Because, ultimately, Sergio did not value his life with Raquel enough. He had her by his side but all he did was diminish her. And now that he thought he lost her, he realized how wrong he was. And this is what this video is about: Sergio's guilt, his inability to live with love, to let go of the Professor and be himself, until it was too late.

Can we all appreciate the love of Raquel to Sergio? Huhu. She can do anything for him. Too bad her character doesn't seem to have an impact to other viewers 😥 She shifted from being Inspectora to being Lisboa but her love for Sergio is not changing but is definitely growing that she can give her life for his freedom and for the gang to be safe also. 😞

Also, I've seen people say they're doing justice, or that they're heroes (when they're threatening to bankrupt an entire country), or that this is a war, and the police are just doing their job. Yes, great point! That's why I think any healthy partnership between them needs to involve him confessing about that experience so Raquel can grapple with the reality and decide how she wants to proceed. If they survive that level of honesty, their partnership will truly be unbreakable. Without her knowing about that horrific near-tragedy, he'll be continuing to keep secrets instead of developing a truly trusting relationship.

Oh, Christina. You've done it again. "Mi Llamo Lisboa" was an inspiring encapsulation of Raquel's courage to feel, her courage to fight, her courage to love. Now, this piece is an existential meditation on grief that leaves one shattered, yet believing in soulmates more than ever. You've distilled the hope and tragedy of the human experience so convincingly, so clearly, I can only equate it to the most potent of poetry.
At 1:33, you build momentum to a ghostly silence, leaving Sergio in silhouette with the sound of the sea, leaving us on the precipice of mourning. We hear him whisper, "Raquel," and we free fall-with him-into the infinite abyss of loss.
The repetition of "no lo se" before and after his hand futilely slams the table at 1:53, set us up to flinch in pain when the gunshots sound and we hear the phrase "love and death."
After the bitter references to life not being a movie and movies not having happy endings, Sergio's primal scream at 2:36 is exquisitely painful. Even know I know she's alive, you've managed to make Sergio's sorrow so palpable, the pain is almost too much to bear.
And at 3:06 when the music drops out again and this time, Mariví describes love, and you show them in their quintessential demonstration of partnership-forehead to forehead, hands clasped-we are reminded, inexplicably, that love was worth it. It was worth the risks. It was worth the pain. It will be worth it again.
And then, satisfyingly, we get to hear Raquel sum it up in her own words. "Not even in seven incarnations would you understand the nature of our love." She's right, most people can't understand it; but you, you've given us the opportunity to see it, to feel it, to experience it-all in 3 minutes and 20 seconds. Thank you.
