No one else on CZcams is making GR Corolla real-world ownership videos right now. Lots of potential for this channel my dude.
Thank you my guy 🙏🏽 I will try my hardest to bring the best content! 🙏🏽
Because almost no one else has one yet. Give it another month or two.
Sure they are. I’ve watched 5 ownership videos by just searching “Gr Corolla”
@@ShenmueAtheist exactly. That’s a 1 to 2 month advantage for the growth of Geovani’s channel.

Thank you so much Noe! I appreciate you! You definitely will enjoy the corolla hatch! Good luck on that search! 🔥
Don't pay mark up man. It encourages dealerships to continue this game. I look at dealerships outside my area.
I know bro, but if you want something, gotta pay to play unfortunately :/
@@GeovanisGarage Wants and needs bro. I get it because I'm a car lover myself, but during these times I'm learning to exercise more discipline and say no. To each their own though. Congrats by the way. Awesome car
@@chrisginoc same here dealers are raping ppl for some basic ass cars. Type r n gr corolla shouldn’t even have over 40k msrp to begin with n then to pay a mark up is crazy. Especially how slow these cars are for the price.
Great video buddy! It's funny I was going to maybe recommend a dash cam set up for your videos, but that GoPro is gonna be sweet! I still recommend getting a dash cam though or your car :)
Appreciate it bro 🙏🏽 I want a dash cam! Planning to get an OEM style one! One that’s pretty seamless. I need to do a little research to see if it’ll fit this year corolla tho!

damn dude thats dope that you got it for the price you did. everywhere i have called wants 15K plus for this car over msrp :( it really sucks not being able to afford a car that i technically can afford
Dude it’s ridiculous what dealers are doing. It’s a shame man. But I hope next year it should all go away 😭🙏🏽
I have a XSE 23 base in undercover in socal also for 35k after everything I’m glad with my purchase great daily but after watching ur videos the GR looks like a worth upgrade might have to consider it for the future I don’t know how to drive stick tho haha great explanation bro!
I was lucky enough to get one of the first Scion FRS models to hit the dealers when they first came out in May of 2012. It was a great feeling to have one of the first ones of such an anticipated car. This video brings be back to that. Congrats! P.S. if dealers were not charging markup then people would flip them anyway.

Love the content man. Ignore the haters...driving my GRC is the most refined manual vehicle I have ever driven. There is a reason it is even compared to Porsche! I look at electric cars coming out and think this car may be an amazing collector car as the pinnacle of gas, awd, and manual transmission.
Thank you bro! 🙏🏽 appreciate the encouragement 🙏🏽🙏🏽
The camera angle/view on this video is great. IMO, it may be good to change up the camera angles in the video once you start filming POV. Multiple camera angles help make great content.
I 100% agree with you man! Hopefully with this GoPro I can add a little spice to the channel! Changing up the angle maintains the interest in the viewer! Thank you Mike 🙏🏽

Do you notice a big difference on the radio screen? Is it a lot faster and smoother than the one on your Corolla hatch?
Big difference! Definitely smoother and faster! 🔥
I think your the first real youtuber to actually own a Corolla GR
Am I? That would be totally honoring! 😭🙏🏽
It’s funny how us enthusiasts see a GR bad ass car and everyone else sees a everyday Corolla.
I’m curious about what the monthly payment looks like for this car? 5 to 6k interest seems like a quite a bit my guess apr was somewhere around 9 or 10% but I guess worth it considering the low market adjustment. I would still consider it rather than take those 20k markups. Congrats man 🤙🏽
580 monthly! Thank you bro! Appreciate you watching the video! 🙏🏽
I bought mine at a 10k Markup talked down from a 15k Markup. The MSRP was 40k for a fully speced one. I went through my own bank and got 3.5% APR. Getting zero is almost impossible in California now. I pay $460 every 2 weeks. Oh my down-payment was 6k and I'm selling my Honda civic privately so I'm getting my down-payment back most likely.

Sounds to me like you paid 8,000 mark up not 1,500 ..your trade in is your money no if or butts

And he owed money on his trade in still
Don’t always break in neutral slow down with a gear then right when ur about to hit the stop sign go into neutral and then back into first just a lil tip !
Ahhh okay! I didn’t know that! Thank you for the advice! 🙏🏽 just outta curiosity, why do you have to do that?
@@GeovanisGarage can wear out ur brakes a whole lot quicker than it should.
Alright! Thank you bro! 🙏🏽
@@GeovanisGarage That is called engine braking, in rig trucking we call it J-braking (sounds like truck engine is farting).
It is a good technique to learn if u are mountain driving and have a lot of steep grades. Like Pikes Peak. It is also good to know if u loose your brakes. It will slow u down but not stop u 😯 It is good in race track diving Like Nuremberg Ring track and u want to save brakes. It does wear your transmission a little or breaks it if u do it wrong 😏
I use it when driving in Minnesota winters and want to have smoother even traction. In automatic transmissions you basically downshift with no accelerator it will slow u down.
In dry flat normal weather there is no advantage.
The cons are very slight engine/trans wear. All it is is is downshift 1 gear to a lower gear. If u downshift 2 gears u must or should rev match. But your GR has IM Button for that 😄
I think they wrecked you on this deal bro but having said that this is a dope car! Keep up the content!
I don’t think so, for todays market, I think it’s a good deal! & thank you Ali! 🙏🏽 I appreciate you for watching the video 🙏🏽
He'll no dealerships are charging 15k markup so 48k is good
He got a good deal I just can’t get over him thinking down payments rule and that’s why he got the car lol, brings back memories when some dude at 7 grand but couldn’t get approved for a z x10s and I barley had 500 dollars and I got it with zero down
Love the car and your honesty! However, the dealer gets paid up front so the down payment doesn't matter to them. The banks are the ones that would care.
Thanks for the clarification matu 🙏🏽
Congratulations congratulations wonderful, take care of it , God bless !
Thank you bro & will do Dennis! 🔥 God bless 🙏🏽
Congrats on your GRC! I can't wait to get mine. I have a 2009 Corolla S 5MT that I turbocharged, an 89 Supercharged MR2 and a 2017 Corolla iM 6MT hatchback but I'm keeping them all. I never like to decrease the fleet! I love seeing the GRC in motion. What kind of MPG have you been getting just driving back and forth to work? You mentioned your range but not MPG. I'm just curious.
Also know that the $10k down means nothing to a dealer. They make more when people finance so as long as people qualify for the loan they don't care.
Thank you! May your get yours ASAP! 🙏🏽 the best I’ve gotten was 32mpg, but I average around 30mpg just going to work and back home!
@@GeovanisGarage That's great! I haven't seen anyone post what they are seeing just driving it normally. Don't forget to do that 1k mile break in oil change!
Dude..... im all ears about that IM turbo ? Care to go into detail?
@@SeanFit I didn't turbocharge my 17 Corolla iM. I did install a CAI, header, and catback exhaust with a few more things that raised the hp from 137hp stock to 180hp. I did turbocharge my 2009 Corolla S. I kept it mild to keep the reliability good but I still went from 132hp stock to 230hp. It's been a blast driving with boost the past 6 years. I have some different videos on my channel but here is one of my 17 Corolla iM on the dyno. czcams.com/video/pSfG7_6kcc4/video.html
Don't buy a Prius!, All that extra money should go to your gas on the GR. Make the GR your daily driver and enjoy! If U calculate 15 years of gas would less than a Prius with gas! Beautiful car and roads! Took a road trip with my new 2000 GC8 back in the day. Best time I had!
You make a great point!!! 😅🔥
whenever he's ready he can do e85 to balance it out ;)
I got one for 55k the circuit edition still hasnt came in yet but im definitely excited. Its like you say in the description life is short and i hate my automatic suv im currently driving i want a manual again and with the market post covid id be having to travel to another state just to have a chance at msrp.
Congrats man! Super excited for you!!! That CE edition is to die for 🔥
@GeovanisGarage thank you bro im stoked 🙌 actually getting it tonight, the guy who originally bought it backed out can't wait to get off work.
THATS DOPE!!!! Man this comment made my day, I hope you enjoy it man 🥹🙏🏽
50k for a GR is crazy
Sure is bro! 😭
I'm currently deciding between a GR Corolla, Civic Type R and Integra Type S... I'm leaning towards the Type R but honestly whichever car I can get for msrp first is the car I'll buy... my gut tells me I'll be driving the integra 🤷♂️
There should be parts more readily available for the type r. The last gens market isn't too crazy. At least you won't be paying 25k over sticker like peoole are with the newest ones. Honda isn't selling anything at msrp right now. These dealers are all on meth currently.
Same here, I’m next in line for the Type R, second in line for the GR. Toyota dealer getting more than one car, Honda dealer only getting one car… time will surprise me
Suggest you consider the VW Golf R. Just picked up one and it flies. It is AWD, 315 HP, and full Napa leather.
@@peptors6686 VW is not reliable and should be avoided
Been thinking of getting one, but is it better then a focus RS?
I’ve never driven an RS, so I couldn’t say if it’s better but I’ve seen a popular youtuber say he preferred the GR over the RS!
so 8K markup - of course you'll likely eat the markup if/when you sell but it'll hold it's value well if you keep it stock. congrats!
Thank you 🙏🏽
So out the door pricing from the dealership is actually $54,600ish. Then a $10K down payment plus your trade in at $6,500 ($16,500)
So the 10k was applied straight up to the price of the car. It brought down the MSRP to 30k taxes, fees and mark up added 8k which brought up the total to 38k, which was the amount financed!
@@GeovanisGarage I don't think you understand the terms and math that are used here. The MSRP on the car was $40k and the markup was $8k, which means the dealer sold the GRC to you for $48k. A trade-in or downpayment does not "lower" the MSRP, it lowers the amount you owe on the vehicle. a $10k downpayment, regardless if it came from your trade-in or cash, makes your total loan amount $38k. For the sake of your financial future, I strongly recommend reading up the basics of personal loans and credit.
6.5k trade in value went towards the mark up, not towards MSRP. I have the contract in front of me!
@@GeovanisGarage So you still paid $48k for the car?
Correct, I said that in the video
I remember I said I would never get rid of a car until I could afford a better car @4:45 perfect example 😆
Right??? 😭🤣😭🤣
@@GeovanisGarage never say never
You’re right 😭🤣
I don't, I just add to the fleet. 😀
@@jimsgaragetoys Yes I know Jim
Congrats on the car! Your price breakdown is either off, or your explanation just wasn’t clear. I’ve been selling cars for almost 8 years and I’m confused at how you explained it.
The total purchase amount aka “Out the door” is the sale price+tax+reg fees. Trade-in and down payment don’t affect this number. Trade-in and down payment affect your “total amount financed” which is what your monthly payment is based on before interest is applied.
If you paid $48,000 including taxes and all, and you put $10,000 down plus $6,500 in equity as Down payment, then this means your total amount financed is $31,500. Is this correct? This is what your contract will show.
Thank you bro!
So the price before my trade in and down payment is 46.500 out the door with tax and fees.
The market adjustment was 8k but they used my equity towards that ADM. I went to carmax & Carvana, they only were going to give me 16k for the car with 50k miles. Which I’ll only have 3k equity. Freddie ended up pushing the car value to 20k. I owed 13.5k on the car. That puts me at 6.5k equity.
So now talking that into consideration,
40,100 MSRP
6,500 taxes/fees
8,000 Adjustment
That’s a total of 54k
Now you minus the 6.5k trade in equity, brings it down to 48k.
Now you add the 10k down which brings it down to 38k which was the amount financed. I hope that clears it up for you!
Hopefully he made out at least that well. The $10K he left in mods on the car is where he took the hit after that $8K ADM, but hopefully he scored a sub 5.25% interest rate on the financing. Too bad they didn't give him something for that $8K like some random protection plan/package stuff other dealers add on to raise the price without calling it ADM.
So I actually traded in the car stock, I sold all my parts separately! So I got 6.5k plus all the money i got from selling my mods!
@@GeovanisGarage That makes sense! Thanks for clearing up. You ended up alright, I wouldn’t say you overpaid…especially being in California. You were lucky you had the trade-in haha. Enjoy the car man.
@@GeovanisGarage Very glad to hear that. In this market, especially in California, you did not do too bad. I was quoted more ADM than that for GR86s all over California earlier this year. Definitely would rather pay "ADM/etc" on a GR Corolla than a GR86. You now own a current smile maker and future classic. Have fun with it.
That’s a lot of money, but everybody getting into new cars rightnow have been getting marked up like crazy, so it’s understandable

No se en que parte de USA te encuentras ,1500 de market adjustment me parese razonable, pero aquí en Pennsylvania es 40.033 el precio mas 15.000 de market adjustment y de ahi le sumas los taxes
Vivo en California! Wooooow! 15,000?!? Es mucho! Eso si es una locura!
Great explaination on the buying process. Its like buying a house: You gotta negotiate. People are complaining about the 10k markup but like, think about the world. The World is moving towards EV. So its not a surprise on the up-price on gas vehicles. People gotta haggle. Shoot, I need to practice on it. Happy/excited for you man, and the upcoming potential of this channel with the GR. Your comment about cash rules and how you explained it makes no sense, mainly because it does not matter if you buy the car cash or finance it at the end of the day they still get there money weather you put down 3k or 10k, I’ll even give you an example my sister have great credit I’m talking high 700 she just went and got a keep grand Cherokee summit reserve her credit is so good she didn’t have to put money down on a 70k car and when she tried to put down 5k to lower her payments some they wouldn’t even take it because the amount wouldn’t make a big deal on her payments, they would have sold that car to anyone no matter if you had 10k to put down in the next person had 0 dealers don’t work like that and could careless about if your paying cash on your car, good job at lowering your monthly payments though
Cash is only good when you buying from a private owner because you can’t magically pull 10 grand out of your pockets while buying a house it have to be in your bank
