@@RSADYNAMICS no he never did...Guru Nanak Dev ji went to Mecca...not for Hajj. He was a wondering Saint and Holy man who went up to current days Bagdad and Mecca to preach and enlighten people. There is a legend that Guru Nanak was resting in the vicinity of Mecca Mosque with his feet towards Mecca, an angry Molvi saw this and abused him saying...you heathen you disrespectful man....you have your feet towards Allah's house...towards Allah. Guru Nanak told him to move his feet where there is no Allah, so the Molvi dragged his feet and moved his feet in opposite direction, but he noticed that the Kaaba moved to that direction too. Every direction he moved his feet, the Kaaba moved there, Molvi realized that this was some man connected with Allah and he fell to his feet and apologized. The summary of the story was that he tried to teach the Muslims that God or Allah is everywhere not just in the direction of Kaaba...but they didn't learn the lesson.

Greetings from Mumbai. Interesting discussions on investments in Pakistan , covering multiple dimensions of the issues involved.
One point which caught attention was from engro about investment in Thar coal industry for "coal gasification" plant. Lets hope some unbiased, independent experts have done detailed cost-economic benefit analysis for such investments ( which is PPP model, with capital coming from State). Extraction of coal and transportation from pit head to power plants or coal based industries like steel etc shud be minimised by giving subsidy in building rail network and efficient mining technology. Coal gasification is an added process , which not only adds to capital cost of Plant, but also added cost in developing efficient supply chain network for gas . This may not be most cost-effective use Coal available in huge abundance in Thar region. Coal gasification plant hasnt delivered much in India, thats reason its not common here, even though India has huge coal reserves.
As per media report , Thar coal reserves are around 186 Bn tons, potential to produce 1,00,000 MW power for 30 years ! but currently only 2450 MW power being produced using Thar coal, which is

One thing to keep in mind is low quality lignite coal found in thar region, study should be conducted about it's viability in thermal plants or gasification. Usually high quality coal bituminous or anthracite is preferred.
