We are so excited to be moving into our new york city apartment! After a long apartment search, and almost three full years of moving around and living in Air BnBs and sublets, we are finally settling down for a while and making this new little place a home. Our moving experience was a bit chaotic as we moved out of our sublet in Harlem and into our new apartment in one afternoon, the day before flying to Seattle for a three week visit with family and friends. We also quickly found out that despite how much we love our new place, it has some quirks and issues we hadn't expected. It's been quite the adventure and we hope you enjoy!

that is my favorite bldg. not the church but the one facing the window you cant close. i go by that bldg every morning on my way to the gym. the foliage is soo pretty. those vines are very destructive, however.

New subscriber here in Central Texas, love your cozy apt. We have to get creative when we live in small spaces. Been to New York many times, but could not live there. Way too many people and becomes Claustrophobic for me lol. Keep up the Awesome work and many Blessings to you both and looking forward to see what kind of furbaby you get when the time comes. Funny how different ppl are - I would’ve put up a cute room divider in the kitchen and swapped the bedroom and living room space to fully take advantage of those corner windows and the gorgeous view 🪟😍
Ah that’s funny that hadn’t even occurred to me! Definitely a good idea, although I think the space might feel a bit cramped. Also the ceilings are lower in the bedroom, so, there’s that. But I doooo love those views!!

Love the way you decorate! So you kind of swap some space from your old place for an area upgrade I take it? I don’t think I could do a super small living room space, but you really made it work so well! The views are incredible!
Well our old place was just a sublet, not permanent. But yes we definitely lost a fair amount of space but are now in an area we LOVE much more than our old area. It’s definitely an experience living in such a small space but it’s doable!!

Nice job but your window coverings are kind of in between a Curtin and a drink and they look lovely. I like that they’re white, so want to make long trips instead of whatever this like this that would add an elegance to your already lovely apartment.

You are so right regarding some not so pretty views that renters are often stuck with. I've had a few of those in my day. It sometimes hard to upgrade if you only have one income and don't have someone else's income to help you.

I’m a software engineer and my husband is a technical program manager! Thanks for your kind words. And it’s funny you say that, my dad said the same thing 😂 but it has all worked out in the end thankfully!
New York doesn’t sale most alcohol in grocery stores except beer I think so Trader Joe’s has the wine in a wine shop next to the location on 14th but unfortunately for now that is closed so no Trader Joe’s wine in nyc

Love your channel. I just visited NYC last month for a week to see the decorations with my mom. I already miss the architecture, the stores and the sounds. So happy for you guys to experience it for a year. ☺️
