How To Create Multiple Worlds On Your Minecraft Server (Multiverse-Core Tutorial). Most big Minecraft servers consist of multiple servers linked together with BungeeCord. Though for this to work, you'll need to own multiple Minecraft server, which can become really expansive. So in todays video I'm gonna explain how to replicate a Lobby (BungeeCord) server using the Multiverse plugins, by creating multiple worlds in a single Minecraft server. This video will show you how to setup & install Multiverse-Core on a 1.17.1 Minecraft server. For this tutorial to work, you'll need a Minecraft server that runs on PaperMC or SpigotMC.

If you're configuring the config files for Multiverse, you can just type "/mv reload" in game after you've saved the config files. You don't have to restart :)

Setting up permissions and trying to find out how to stop folk in my survival world respawning in the lobby when they died was a bit on the fruity side but I got there in the end lol

If it wasn’t for your videos I wouldn’t have known any of this stuff.
Only thing I fight with now is what permissions to give my groups in LuckPerms as some plugins such as Multiverse need to have priority over those from EssentialsX so it can be a bit of a juggling act getting stuff to work as expected.

your tutorial is helping me alot, though, I do have advice on adding npc's using znpc plugin, it's entirely possible to add npc's add skins to them, and have them warp you to each world on left click, and even have them open your shops gui, it's fairly simple /znpcs create player then /znpcs toggle look to make it look around as you move around it, /znpcs skin to change the skin to whatever you want, including well known youtubers, then /znpcs action add warp to link the npc to warps made in each world.

How can you get an individual player to spawn directly in, for example, "survival" when they join the server? (instead of having to go through a portal).
U will need to have the plugin ZNPCs and PlaceholderAPI and first create an npc by do /znpcs create 1 Player Example. Then do an name that u want search that on a vid then do this /znpcs action add 1 CONSOLE mvtp %player_name% survival

my problem is that even I am too far from the portal I created, when walk towards the portal even I am 50 blocks away I am being teleported. Any suggestion?
my guess is that when using the worldedit wand, you might've clicked really far away from the portal by accident so then it just selected a big area to make into the portal?
I have everything setup and ready to go, but once i type /mvp create to make the portal from my spawn to the survival world it says "You must have a WorldEdit selection to do this". Im not sure what to do at this point. Yes, I did use the world edit tool to select the portal coordinates and have all the right things installed. Im stuck...
This is amazing but.. if I create some another world, lets name it "survival", is there an option where players can teleport there with /warp command, and not using Portals ?
Of course. If you use EssentialsX and set a warp inside of that Survival world manually. Then you just needs to give all your players permissions to use the command through Luckperms and you're all set :)

I did the required changes in the config file(Im using minehut) and pressed save, reloaded the server and found that the config file didnt save despite me pressing save. And ideas why? Or command i can do in the server to change it
Sometimes a server can act a bit weird when you edit files while it’s on. Make sure to shut it down first and try editing the file then :)

That’s unfortunately not possible on 1 server. If you want people to have separate homes, you are better off starting a server network

Hi kasai Sora when I am going through the smp portal from the spawn I get tped to 0,0 of the world and not the last location I logged off from also when I die I respawn at the. Spawn not my bed (any way to fix it
True the portal will just take the player to the Multiverse spawn location of the world it’s taking you to. As far as I know, there is no way to let it teleport to the location a player logged off at. It might be possible somehow, but you will need some kind of plugin which tracks players logout info and allows teleportation to it. I get this question quite often, but haven’t found a way yet except using BungeeCord (multiple servers linked together)

You’ll need a plugin called Multiverse Netherportals for that. It’s also from Multiverse

I believe you would have to make them an operator, but if you don't wanna do that, then the best option would be to create different "portals" to separate worlds, just like in the video

The portal will always take you to the spawn of the world. If you want to change the spawn, do /mv setspawn

On most server hosting websites, there will just be a button for it on your servers page. Though because aternos is free, I don’t know if they even give access to the FTP files…

hey kasai! i was wondering if you had a solution to a problem i have with my server. i have a lobby world and all 3 survival dimensions which are all linked correctly. when you join the server, it automatically places you in the lobby, and then when you enter through the "survival" portal i have, it takes you to the overworld, even if you were in the nether when you logged off last. This can cause some weird things such as people being able to leave and rejoin if they fall into a pit of lava in the nether and end up unscathed. I was wondering if you had any ideas as to why this happened and also if there is any way i could fix this?

You can delete a word by typing /mv delete [worldname] or /mv remove [worldname]. One of those two

They can’t enter the nether at all? Or just not with /mv commands? If you want them to teleport with commands, you’ll need to give them the right permissions though something like LuckPerms

The problem I have is that you did not show how to setup permissions. Right now you need OP to be able to go through the portals, and I have tried alot of permissions and I just cant seem to be able to go through the portals without OP. And I am using luckperms.

Just wanted to ask, can you have multiple SMP servers with this? As in, in one world (SMP-1), will it have a separate nether and end from another world? (SMP-2)
A SMP consists of 3 worlds. An Overworld, a Nether and an End world. So for 2 SMPs, you’ll need 6 worlds already and for 3 SMPs 9. I would definitely not recommend this. You would need tons of ram to run all of those 9 worlds besides each other. And for the money to buy a server with that much ram, you can better just buy multiple separate servers and link them together
@@KasaiSora I want to point out you can also disable keeping the spawn of each world in memory, so this should significantly save on ram.

How to fix the problem if you make an nether portal, and you go in it you get teleported to the nether, but if you want to go back to the overworld, it teleports you to a other world, for example my creative world, which is a flat world, that happens the same with the end.

You will need a plugin called LuckPerms to fix this. The reason only you can teleport is because you are OP and they are now. I made a tutorial on LuckPerms explaining everything. I would recommend checking it out! :)

Duration should either be a time period, or a unix timestamp when the permission will expire. e.g. "1mo3d13h45m" will set the permission to expire in 1 month, 3 days, 13 hours and 45 minutes time, while "1482694200" will set the permission to expire at 7:30PM on 25th December 2016.
The "temporary modifier" argument allows you to specify how the permission should be accumulated. You can pick between 3 different options"

Is it possible to create one world that has cubic chunks enabled and another that has it disabled and then be able to pass between them with a portal? Or more specific, can WorldGen type be picked for different worlds? For examble, 'Biomes o Plenty' and 'Cubic Chunks with FarPlaneTwo' do not fully work togheter, so I wish I could just seperate them into seperate worlds.
