Time to have some fun - if you could build ANY 4WD up to do tough 4WDing - what would it be?
Definitely a Subaru brumby 😁
4WD Action blown y62 patrol
GQ patrol
1998 gu patrol
Jk
You guys should do a budget 4x4 mod, like what the average Joe can afford,do up a late 90's surf or gq, 80, along those lines
they have done somet similar few years back with a suzuki samurai i think and took it down some of the tougher trails of australia
Yeah, this bloke can't afford all this kit, it'd take me years to get a rig like this.
Hahaha agree
Would love to see a 90/95 series
Or a cheaper 4x4. Some dont have enough money for a modification like this. I still dont win the lottery
Aussies:
Say church: “Church”
Say chunk: “Chunk”
Say chassis: “SHAZZY”
That's because it's originally a French word meaning frame. Us Aussies are real posh in our proper pronunciation :P
Say Champagne, chivalry and chauvinistic.
Well in french we say shaSSY and not shaZZy. Nor Tchassy by the way.
That's a funny one TOMMO...
Americans:
Say Aluminium: "Aluminum" :'-)
After 4 days on lockdown this is just what I need good on ya lads
hell yeah ahah
Plenty more content coming your way mate!
we are on our 1st day of 4 weeks in nz how long you guy's on lock down for
Roza we haven’t been told yet just waiting day by in the uk
Thank God... I've been stuck at home with the crotch monkeys... let me veg out learning new things and drooling over shauno 😂😂😂
Jock nailed this one, awesome to see him on some more videos
100% ! He can get a bit excited at times though xD
As much as I've seen so far, this video is definitely the most extensive and detailed guide to rig up a new 4wd. Great job guys. 👏🏻
What a bloody beast! Who else loved this build?!
Is your torqit chip tuned to that specific vehicle or straight out of the box?
Mines not dyno tuned yet,got x flow and pedal torque.....man the response and power is just ridiculous I’d love to know what it does!
Loved the clip “bloody awesome “ Love to see more
how much for that build cost
What bonnet is on the 200? Is it a modified 79 scoop?
Awesome vid guys! Great to see you two hosting it
Me: Love!
Wallet: Don't even think about it.
Hahahahahaha yeeeessssssssss
HAHAHA! Exactly, But we can always dream, right?
Andy Pastore Yess!!❤️❤️
Great video as always, and great to be seeing more videos with Jocko! He nails it every time
3l
What an awesome video guys! Super helpful for anyone looking to upgrade their vehicle. In depth showing how to do all the important mods. Thanks!
I have watched this a number of times and get a bit more out of it everytime. Thanks mate!!
I’ve got a 200. This looks magic! Good one fellas.
These build videos are sick. I will never own a 200 but strip back the layers and the build principles and thought processes are the same. Good work 4wd action, jocko is great at these videos.
The definitive definition of one perfecting their craft. Strong work.
WOW! That was quite a transformation. Lovely lil beast you built there. Cheers from the PNW!
Who can afford 12 mods after buying a 200? :(
Some people can - but the MAJOR point here is these tips and mods are relevant to ALL 4WDs - from 200s and 79s down to $3,000 GQ patrols
If you can afford a 200 you can afford the mods🤷♂️
@@4WD247 You said it...SOME. I just came back from a Vic high country trip and all I saw was Older model patrols and LC's, Prados, Pajeros Hiluxes and Navaras with one Y62 and one 200. We did the Billy Goat Bluff track and surrounds. Your're not actually targetting a wider audience here who have older models vehicles. Most of the newer model 4WD that you see are on youtube channels like yourself, Ronny Dahl, Australian 4x4 adventures and All 4 adventures. We'll watch your vids no doubt, but how about catering for the masses. Brand new 200 with 12 mods, yeah that's your everyday aussie 4WDriver/camper not to mention probably majority of your subscribers.
$100k on a 200
$3k on rims and tyres
$2k on suspension lift
$500 on diff drop
$1k for snorkel and custom air box
$4k on bar work
$1k on winch ( depending what they got could be $3k )
$2k on lights
$2k on exhaust
$2k on chip/tune
$500 on UHF
$3k on fridge/drawers
$3k on engineering cert.
So, a good $130k give or take for this sort of setup not including ANY fitting costs or the cost of that custom wrap job.
That's not too bad, actually.
Steve 1313 don’t get your knickers in a knot cause you don’t have a 200.
There’s shit loads around.
The one they did up isn’t even a brand new one anyway.
Not everyone wants an 80 series or a GQ
Great job to sparesbox on getting all the accessories for the beast of a 200!👌
Any one notice At 0:57 the bcw sticker 😲 bennys custom works.
sharing the love for Benny!
Don't sparesbox cover benny and the boys, I vaguely remember seeing there cars at one of the Sparesbox stands somewhere recently
Damn,, just mentioned that in a comment
Spotted the 205 GTI! Great vid as always guys, greetings from France
This was a really well made and useful vid - thanks guys!
The Owen Wilson ‘wow’ at 19:55
"Rake likes it" 😉
WOW!
5:51 ------- that little black shock guard to protect the paint of your shock
Great build. I like it. Keep these type of series coming.
you all would have a great time building an off-roader in USA there is no where near the restrictions here on them as you guys have..a few years ago my daily driver was a 1986 ford f150 4x4 lifted 13 inches on 40inch tires..many times the police around my area would drive by me looking at the truck and give me a thumbs up..once a state trooper pulled me over just so he could look at the truck and admire it ...love the videos keep them coming.
Love having Jocko!!
Thanks for that great video guys !
Love the work boys keep it up
Love The Jocko !!!
Good to see ya more on the vids Bro. 🍺
This helped with quarantine
Good set up for such a heavy vehicle, well done mate 👍
Another great episode of 4wd action
Liked anf have a cold beer in hand
Excellent video! Given the budget it’s a perfect build.
woow cool video.keep making good stuff.can’t wait for next episode👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Very good tip about the airbag and spring supporting the vehicle
Good way to spend a covid lockdown watching this.👍
Yeah well we wouldn't have to if bloodly China had of contained this virus when it first appeared in China last year.
4WD Action and MCM is gonna be nice upgrade for 1 car 🤩
Love this vid fellas..I wish you'd do more with pedestrian Land Cruisers like this. Reminds me of the $1,000 Lux!
Nice clip and great tips, Jock. I had to learn my 4WD build lessons before CZcams so you young punters out there pay attention to this!
Waited for a 200 series video 🤙🏽
Good job man. And perfectly explained. 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Jocko has come such a long way! Love seeing him on the show!
Amazing video
I have not seen a better video then this. Well done and thanks
Such a good video! Learnt a lot!

This was so damn informative for a newbie... Thanks heaps lads
Nice build!
Awesome vid!
What an absolute weapon 👊🏾💪🏾. Big 👍🏾 from Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬.
keep it up guys
Thank you
its so helpful
Great, professional video. You guys not just explain the general modifications. You also explained mods that should be done to the air box as the standard airbox is crap and allows dust ingress.
I am currently building my 2003 3l td hilux. Great tips cheers jock and sam
Great to see the emphasis on engineering to keep it all safe & legal.
The payload on the 200 really isn't much, did you get a gvm upgrade and what does the fighting weight weigh in at?
Such an amazing job 👏👍👏👏👏
Great advice and build guys. Thanks for sharing!👏👍🏻💪🇦🇺
You guys built amazing super off-road SUV 🚙 I like it thank you so much for your sharing
i hope this 200 will join your adventure soon! more content guys!
martin526 austria We’ll be seeing it in action when they upload their trip through the Watagans, it seems they did the Killy Loop while they were there, according to their facebook. Keen for the next episode!
Best simply video! 💯
Also wasn't in the video when you lift the suspension you may need go increase brake line lengths and when carrying out the wheel alignment make sure this is done after all your accessories are fitted as load with affect your wheel alignment so you want to generally make sure you do a wheel alignment with your default load and full tank of fuel.
Love it!
Mate that V8 raw is incredible
Nice work 😊👌👍👏💪
Love u guys ❤️
I'd really like to see you testing the new defender on those tracks and see how it holds up. Don't know if that is possible tho
Great video thanks!
best truck ive ever seen. id put wheel up front ontop of rack and tent on rack other than that love it. want to see more of this truck
Sick rig.
We are going into lockdown at midnight tonight for three weeks here in South Africa. Going to have lots of time to rewatch old 4wd action episodes
And new ones😉
Oooh raslar bar work, they do a great job
liked, mainly for the Benny's Custom Works sticker on the ramp
Absolute beast
Rig looks mint Sam. Bring back the mo!
you turns this monster beast to a real master piece
See's Jocko, hits thumbs up instantly
Good to see there's no 4wd supacentre crap on this build. Actually using good quality products that work. Raslaar, STEDI, Runva just to name a few
@13.50... that 205 gti in the back ground 😍
Thanks, Great job! I wish you guys drive this car in next episodes. It will be great comparison of 4WD off road capability; LC 200 vs FJ 80 ..
thanks for your video
Enjoyed the education 👍...I loved your explanation of 4wd...I know now...
Vi seguo dell'Italia, è un altro mondo !
Love my 200 they are a beast.
Love the Yakima platform on the sparesbox car
Love, Love, Love this video! When measuring for tire scrub, do you compress the bump-stops?
We allowed for 50mm bump stop compression! :)
thanks for the tips. going come and see you when 18
Jocko is the best! Breath of fresh air.
Good stuff there Jocko/Sam.
Glad you enjoyed!
I have 35s on my 200 definitely have to do that brake upgrade
👍😷👌✊🍻 good info guys
What was offset on rims?
Clear explanation, like it. I do focus on what parts to upgrade (rule out the 200 series, brand of the mods, price list). Cause many mods out there miss the crutial part, such as diff breather. Good work. Anw, do u guys hv a mods guidance to a Suzuki SJ410? Id like to mods my SJ410 to an overland rig 😁
Great Video guys! Following from Germany, got an 06 Hulix.
Was just wondering all the time how much all these mods were. Here in Germany all the 4wd parts are way more expensive than what I remember from my time in OZ... Y60 back then😃...
Love your channel, makes me fell like in OZ and motivates me again and again to get my Hilux dirty😎😎💪🏻
Thx
awesome guys deffo would like to see a 96 hi surf been done for people on a small budget.
that's a nice 200
When Graham says “ I wouldn’t have a clue “. That’s when you know that there’s a problem
It'd be great to get a breakdown of the costs of all the new components
You forget to add up for any suspension mods, you should also replace the sway bar link in order to allow the suspension to flexs properly without any problems.
We installed extended sway bar mounts in the rear along with an adjustable panhard bar to allow proper articulation.
What about extended brake lines.? What size lift did you go with
