- In a Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain, Alexander Isak's first-half goal initially propelled Newcastle to a promising position in Group F. However, their aspirations were dashed when a highly controversial penalty was awarded to PSG in the 98th minute. The decision, following a VAR check, penalized Tino Livramento for an apparent handball, eliciting widespread criticism for its perceived injustice.
Despite Newcastle's commendable defensive efforts and goalkeeper Nick Pope's standout performance, the late penalty converted by Kylian Mbappe left them with a bitter draw. The frustration was palpable, particularly as the penalty decision appeared stringent even by UEFA's own guidelines. Magpies legend Alan Shearer and others voiced their discontent, emphasizing the impact of officiating on the game.
While the draw elevated Newcastle to third place in Group F, their path to the knockout stages remains uncertain. A victory against AC Milan in the final group-stage match is imperative, coupled with a reliance on Borussia Dortmund to defeat PSG. The outcome, marred by controversy, left fans and players alike contemplating the unpredictable and sometimes bewildering nature of football outcomes.

They always favor the giants, what a blow for Newcastle for no reason
psg es un equipo chico e inexistente, no es un gigante.
Giants??
@@josequispe8241 aren't psg giants in front of newcastle ?
@@beforedrrdpr I haven't heard someone call to PSG being giants.. maybe big team(in their own league)..
Don't cry guys, PSG should have received a penalty much earlier, after the defender's obvious illegal tackle (how could he not give a penalty on that one). From the perspective of whole match, a draw is a fair result, and apart from that, Newcastle was very lucky because PSG created many opportunities and was very ineffective. Newcastle also have Giant $ backup.
Champions League is fixed.
UEAFA will make more money if PSG advances, hence an incorrect penalty.😢
When PSG got robbed where were your condolences? 🤬
ninja turle celebrating a penalty he did not even win on his own is hilarious
Every week there’s a new VAR controversy 🤣
blame the stupid rules not ref. There's too much room for interpretation
The video referee got replaced the match after, so ofc he’s the one to blame.
@@Sir_Loot-A-Lot no, he was given a day off from UEFA by a massive wave of criticism from the British media
we don't want VAR again never
Penalty inexistant ces une honte le psg ne mérite pas d'égaliser
A previous handball was clearly a penalty. So Newcastle didn't robbed.
As an Arsenal fan.. Karma is a bitch.. thats how we felt after the Toons' fake goal against us.. so stop crying ......
Arsenal 🤝 PSG
Handball is handball. Ref is just a ref doing his job, should be treated as an independent factor. Wanted to win? Should have scored one more goal. End of story
There has been many refs making terrible mistakes in the past especially against smaller more poor countries. Nobody gave anything back then.
“Nobody gave anything back then”
I would like to know what you’re smoking because it must be really good to get you this delusional.

Handball is handball point final
It was a bad bounce sad but nothing you can do
I didn't even knew Alan Shearer could curse
VAR Tomasz Kwiatkowski has been replaced by UEFA for the match between San Sebastian and Salzburg.
so many comments about rules making it a penalty without having a clue, can't you guys read ?
It is an offence if a player:
deliberately touches the ball with their hand/arm, for example moving the hand/arm towards the ball
touches the ball with their hand/arm when it has made their body unnaturally bigger. A player is considered to have made their body unnaturally bigger when the position of their hand/arm is not a consequence of, or justifiable by, the player’s body movement for that specific situation. By having their hand/arm in such a position, the player takes a risk of their hand/arm being hit by the ball and being penalised
scores in the opponents’ goal:
directly from their hand/arm, even if accidental, including by the goalkeeper
immediately after the ball has touched their hand/arm, even if accidental
Marciniak is chosen when UEFA decide to do something strange. Last year he eliminated Napoli against Milan with a sensational penalty that was not called in favor of Napoli, because UEFA wanted the semi-final between Inter and Milan
What are talking about. He is best referee next to Colina
What controversy ? As per the rules - it was a hand ball ... so a penalty ...
Exactly. Handball is handball. Ref is just a ref. Wanted to win? Should have scored one more goal. End of story
It wasn’t handball?
@crazyyellowshadow2918 the handball rules are pretty clear, I don't know why there is a debate
@@AetheismRules 1. It wasn’t intentional
2. His hand was in a natural position while he was running
3. It takes a deflection off his chest
You think in the player’s mind he wanted to stop the ball there with his hand, it was too quick to even react to, I agree with you, there should be no debate. I don’t understand how you can look at the rules and think it’s a penalty, when the rules show it’s obviously not a penalty. Do you think it should be a penalty? Doesn’t matter. A ref doesn’t make the decision he wants, he’s supposed to make the decision that goes by the rules, regardless of whether he personally agrees with it or not. Should PSG have received a penalty earlier? Yes, but they didn’t, and the ref can’t award an unfair penalty because he made a mistake earlier.
It baffles me how you use the rules as an argument when the rules state it’s not a penalty.
@crazyyellowshadow2918 apart from the facts, and your understanding of the rules, I agree with you.
The games the game. Its a handball. Its unfortunate for Livramento and newcastle but it doesnt matter if it bounced off his chest into his arm, it is still a handball, i guess thats karma for you then.
england crying 🤣🤣
C'est moins net que le penalty non accordé aux U17 Sénégalais contre les U17 Français récemment rn Coupe du Monde . Pour rappel les deux défenseurs français avaient " TENAILLÉ " l' attaquant Sénégalais dans la surface .
Penalty paid for, nowadays football is 🗑
Penalty 100%. HANDBALL.
Ceferin love PSG........
Dortmund can beat PSG, but will Newcastle do the ting
i mean psg did dominate and beat dortmund 2-0 it will probably be 50/50
@@Geneses_ next one is at Signal Iduna Park
I don't see the ball hitting his chest but anyway I have read elsewhere that PSG should have gotten another penalty and the referee did not grant it. At the end, it makes no difference
Haters when psg gets robbed : ha ha ha! PSG can't even beat that small team! True bottlers.
Haters when PSG gets a fair penalty : No! PSG is paying the refs, poor Newcastle got robbed 😢🤬.
Obv pen even before VAR
Bunlar Galatasaray’a hep yapılıyor.
How on earth is this not a PK?! He drives the ball with his hand...what are you talking about?
I mean it’s only english media that says that because that’s the only way they will ever win the champions league
@@yousufhashimi34563 English clubs have won the champions league in the past 5 years what are you on about? Not to mention two of those finals had English clubs facing each other
The PSG 1-3 Manchester United. It was the same ( kimpembe)
