I only have 2 bases, 1 for iron ore with coal same as the one you showed in this video and another one close to this one just to breed and farm food to make cake and salad. The third palbox I use as a fast travel point when I'm on a area that has no points closer specialy to farm sulfer or quartz. Tip, the boss in the volcano area has alot of sulfer and iron right in front of his tower, it is easy to mine everything get overweight and teleport back to base since the fast travel point is very very close so I don't need to build a base and farm sulfer only when I need since I'm used to buy ammo. Nice video cheers!
one thing thats nice about a breeding base that does nothing but breed, you can build a command post and set them to super hard working, and it increases their work speed for faster egg laying. and since they are stuck in the breeding pens, there sanity doesnt change. so you can make them work much faster but theres no downside since sanity freezes when you assign them to a breeding pen. so if you dont have any other pals in your breeding base assigned to tasks, you can just always leave that base on super hard working, and it wont hurt anything, but you get faster egg laying
thanks for this info!
And it’s not even a bug or glitch. They’re legit happy cuz they just straight getting laid the whole time
Does a breeding base need food? My buddy handles that side of the things - I'm still learning
@@connorp8408Cakes I believe.
@@connorp8408 only the cakes in your breeding boxes. if you dont have other workers
I played this game +100 hours Believe me you don't need sulfur base only main base in any huge land and ore base and coal base . GL all
Agreed
Yeah I have a quartz/ore base, coal/ore base and a main base for farming, breeding and my house
@michaelcdarby do you need that much quartz? I built near one and just manual farm it from time to time, and am thinking it's not worth my 3rd base for quartz
@@dogs-game-too you don’t need it that much but that’s just what I decided to do
@@michaelcdarby cool thanks for the reply
I used the first base you showed for the first few in game days, but I had main base on the upper platform and ore production where you showed. but soon moved slightly north of there where there's a MASSIVE open area with a bunch of trees tucked away just outside of the palbox range. It's only raidable from one direction and it takes them over a minute from raid start to get to the base so they're usually wiped out before they even get to me. I then moved my ore base south of the snow area like you showed. Nutty spot.
A great add to this game would be to have certain pals have the ability to carry and travel from base to base moving the material you need to work with. It would be also really cool if they had way stations that these pals work out of. Basically a transportation building with pals that work there. A great idea would be able to tell each pal what items they will collect and transport.
Yo thanks for making this every week. For real. Super grateful for it
Sry, I respectfully disagree. The best started base is at Mount Flopie Summit. It has 8 nearby metal nodes that are easy to farm, and it's pretty much immune to raiding as the spawns all happen below and can't reach you. It's flat as a board and very large and easy for other players to reach via the waypoint. It's central to the map which makes getting anywhere (like the early desert) a snap. For Ore mining, yes, that is the best one, technically speaking. I don't know how much I like it as you split a lot of mining time between Ore and Coal. I've set up one of each type (coal and ore) and find that to be far more efficient. As for Sulfur, I don't have a mining base. Personally, I don't think you need a base devoted to sulfur. Pal skills with a 2 second cooldown, that can hit multiple targets, are better IMO. I use Air Cannon, Wind Cutter, and Dragon Cannon on my Fenglope for capture and everyday use, only swapping out specific skills for boss fights. It saves LOADS on Ammo. That being said, if you want efficient sulfur gathering just warp to the Eternal Pyre Entrance waypoint.
that base is the best starting base and still my only one on my current playthrough, at level 37 now.
I currently have the same breeding & voal/ore bases set up & that's all I use. My third(& 1st inital) base is located in the middle of the Fort Ruins, near Chillette. It's a bit cramped & is tricky to build around, but I've built there 3 times now & have a pretty good system down to build a secure castle base with a bridge. I use it now for stashing my loot & decorating/building.
I have the ore/coal base as my main base, a breeding ranch that generates a ton of cakes, and a 3rd ore base that also has 1 sulfur node. Ore is by far the most valuable resource and you will never have enough of it.
whats the coords of the 3rd base you have?
I have the same 1st base as him, same 2nd base, but my third base is further north (strictly breeding base) but it also has a high level skill tree (the highest level). There are no raids there but high level Pals do spawn on the mountain.
If you set up your base and pals right to you have way more than enough ore from just one base (my base is in the red tree area by the church). I always have 2k+ and literally tens of thousands of rocks to convert to paldium lol. I use my 3rd base a portable teleport 😆
@@reiverdaemon I kinda disagree because I make nails who I then sell to buy unlimited ammo.
@@seraph1783 Third base coordinates is 251, -91
I'd recommend against a sulfur base. Sulfur is not really needed that much, most definitely not worth an entire base and it is extremely easy to mine it manually. Go to the Eternal Pyre Tower Entrance waypoint and there are 7 sulfur nodes literally next to the teleport so even when you get heavy load you can grapple your way back to the teleport fast. And you want a peaceful unraidable cake/breed farm? Check the top of the tower on -80, 192. Thank me later. :) As a bonus you get 4 chest spawns every 4 days (careful not to build on top of them tho).
That's where I have my 2nd base and the chests are a nice bonus plus it's absolutely perfect for my breeding base (and has quartz at the base of it)
this location seems to break the pathing as of 1.4.1 none of the pals move from the pal box and if i pick em up and throw em or even unsummon/resummon it doesnt fix it. had to abandon location cause they would starve to death in front of the food box otherwise
Instead of a Sulfur base, I just teleport to the tower at the top of the volcano. Theres 8 or so nodes in a line along the rim of the volcano. Take a digtoise and go to the far end and let the digtoise mine as you walk back to collect it all. You'll get encumbered, but with the grapple to move around, it works. Its not an automatic base, but already have 3 bases set up elsewhere.
There's a nice spot behind Chillet (past the bridge) that barely any raid can reach (they tend to despawn before even reaching halfway as they spawn on the wrong side and have to go in a circle up the whole mountain.. by the time they reach that ol' castle wall they usually despawn - the only thing that reached me there so far were the R-scalies so I caught 2 of them and force them to mine stone for me lol.
The spot has several ore nodes and if you're creative with foundation placement, enough space to build anything you want, while the only access point is that tiny bridge. Think it beats out trudging all the way to your first base in the video - I used to use it, but man, that place has problems, both defensively, and the cliffs mess up the pathing way too much. The plus side is having 2 dungeons right beneath it though to which you can literally just hop on your direhowl and jump straight down, and even a black marketeer spawns near one of them sometimes. Not to mention relatively fast access to the first conservation area
Having Chillet sitting there as your guard dog is dope tho
I use that area too 😂 I love it there.
I found that one too. It's right above a cave. It's near the first syndicate tower... And yeah the raids never make it
Several raids can reach it. The flying raid and lovander raid are two that managed to cross the bridge for me.
@@goblez5900 really I had no problems at all so far
@@gaymer07 from what I can tell, the game has a bunch of roads/routes and when a raid spawns in it will start on one of these roads and then attempt to path to your base.
But it also seems like the different factions have a preference for raiding from a certain direction. Like syndicate will always come from the northeast, or lovanders will always come from the south. I'm making those directions up but you get the idea.
My guess is each raid has it's preferred direction, and then it will try to find the nearest route/road that aligns with that direction. But if your base is only near a single route then every raid will come from that direction.
In the case of the base behind chillet the 3 nearest roads are:
-From in front of chillet and over the rope bridge.
-The road to the left of the castle
-Down the steps and past the statue to the right of the castle.
So I think as you progress through the game you may be raised from over the bridge.
I started again coz i collected so many effigies and handed them in and then had troubles catching pals. Cant be bothered to wait for a fix so Im starting again as early game is fun. Good to know I know all these spots and have used them in my first playthrough.
Just increase world catch rate setting for time they fix it.
isn't already fixed from 1 feb patch?@@nicolaos355
Your comment is only 1 day old, it was fixed last week no?
Just got fixed
Your base circle looks massive, is it larger or is it standard size? I only say that cause mine I guess isn't totally flat, and there is a slight hill basically not allowing me to continue to build, maybe that's why? Also for sulfur, I just go to two different locations with 5 Kingpaca's and mine all the sulfur every so often. I've over 6500 sulfur and getting it faster then spending so it's up to the user if they want a sulfur base. It's not needed but I can see having a sulfur base as a way to automate the gather of it rather then doing it yourself.
Thank you , I hit 50 and now ready to build a new base
😂q
My main is breeding, wood, stone and production. 2nd is farming and food. Third is ore and coal.
Another great breeding and auxiliary base in on top of the large circular tower in the forgotten city. If they fix pthfinding more many other bases will be raidable, but that one is absolutely not, and is almost perfectly flat. The coal/ore base is mandatory and super op though tho.
i do find this video funny, all 3 of my bases i placed just by roaming map and observing node formations are your 3 bases :") GGs. good video, will help alot of peeeeps!
Mount Anubis is arguably the prettiest place for a breeding base. It also has a moat for raid protectoin.
I use the first 2 bases on this list. My 3rd base is for mining pure quartz location on the top left snow mountain
You barely need quartz tho....I just collect those nodes and fly to closest waypoint.
I find 2 bases are best and use the third as a mobile platform to plop down near a farming area. I have 1 core/ore mining/production base where yours is and one for ranching and breeding. Quartz and sulfur just isn't needed that much to have an entire base dedicated to it for me. If I ever do put down a permanent 3rd base it'll def be another ore base.
NICE
Here's a fun tip, there's a mod to allow you to have up to 100 bases. This makes playing alone / co-op really fun. When you combine it with the mod that lets you set game parameters like maximum size of bases, you can have really interesting results, but be warned, don't put everything in one base even though you can, your pals will get confused since there is no real good priority set in the game. You can also have more than 20 pals at a base but if you're playing co-op expect a lot more CPU utilization especially with a lot of bases. Have fun!
I like my first base to be a non-raidable large flat area, without nodes or anything in the way. I want to start as early as possilbe with breeding (breeding is almost like cheating). So my first base will become a breeding farm after I put down all the structures needed to advance to level 5 and unlock the second base. The few amount of ore needed to get to level 5 I get with Rushoar mining nodes near fast travel points. I use Cattiva to mine more before being over encumbered.
The second base is will be the ore / coal location you mentioned in the video. It is just the best location for mining in my opinion.
Like others said Sulfur and Quartz is not really needed to build a base for. So my the third base will probably be another ore base or I will keep it as portable fast travel point.
There is one location that I've found is also quite nice for a breeding base - Mt. Floppie Summit.
It is a bit suboptimal with the teleporter location, because you set your palbox very close to it, so it is redundant - but who cares. BUT the base has a node of both coal and ore and there are several nodes of ore just to the north of it. So you CAN trickle some refined ingots if you need them without the need to haul.
So far, this base has not been attacked by any raid - they spawn, but get stuck at the bottom of the cliff north-east from the base itself.
The only problem are hostiles occasionally wandering in - mostly Robinquills and occasional Free Pal Alliance dudes.
There is a location just north-east of the summit - visible on the map that is also quite unique - it has nodes of sulphur, ore AND coal in close proximity - the only problem is very uneven terrain.
that sounds very insteresting could you share the locations of the bases for me? I would love to go check them out and see what I could build
I wonder too
@@augiesaint Same here! I love building on challenging terrain for good resources.
My spot would be the first mountain, all the way Northeast (288, 247) it has a high level skill tree and no raids. Be careful for high level Pals though, so build a wall around the perimeter. Its almost flat, skill tree repleshes (there another one further north so if the one in the base respawns you can get the other skill tree too)
For sulfer i just got to that fast travel at the boss eternal tower of the pyre brother whatever the hell lol, there’s like 6 nodes right there and with the new encumberment update it’s pretty easy to get a ton real quick and fast travel back
Rushboar FTW!
True I take my digtoise band and spin away all nodes in no time
@@sergioalonso9273facts. He goes through food quickly but I got an alpha from a cave and positioned right he gets 2 nodes at a time
The 3 bases I have is the main base (work speed related), mining base (close to the main), and a breeding/ranch base.
I have the same mining base as you, but I also chose my main base with all crafting and gardening close by right underneath due to the fact that the pals are inactive unless a player is close by.
The main base has a fridge for perishables so this will house both Jolthog and Jolthog Cryst. The ore base just has pals that lumber, mine, and transport. Neither of these bases are raidable.
The last base I put at the volcano area next to the skill tree since the skill trees still spawn skill fruits and your pals will automatically loot it and put it in a box. This will also have your stone/lumber farm. But this base is raidable, but if you don't care about skill fruits, then you can go somewhere else.
I don't have a sulfur or quartz base, but I don't really need it. Sulfer is so easy to get anyway.

From what I tested, work speed buffs don't affect ranching, breeding, or mining/lumber that isn't from the structure. That's why planting, watering, gathering, handyman, and kindling is stacked into the main base. I have the stone/wood farm in the 3rd base so it doesn't interfere with Anubis' duties, and you get more wood/stone than you know what to do with it anyway so work speed on those don't really matter. With this setup, you can put salads in the food bin to boost production.
Maus are there because money is important. It's your source for high quality oils, bones, horn, leather, organs, etc. because you can buy them off the wandering merchant without needing to farm them in the open world.
It's good to level your ranch pals through the condenser since it increases their output, but if you need more eggs or milk for cakes, you can buy them from the merchant.
I use Vanwyrm, Menasting, and Blazehowl Noct because they don't sleep at night. They suffer from Sanity issues because of this, but just feed them medicines from time to time which would be abundant due to the money you get, or just feed them sanity foods.
Sulfur is most importent for ammo only. You can make nails, sell that at a merchant and buy all the ammo you need. I made 1800 nails yesterday. I sold them at my merchant and got 300k plus gold. That turned into 2k ammo for my assault rifle, bro. That is way better then making ammo from sulfur. 2 ore bases and a breeding place, and you get everything that you need easy.
have you encountered any problems at the second ingot/coal base where your pals get stuck in the world and get depressed? because thats all that happens to me when i built there.
That happenes in any base. Best you can do to prevent this is to make ground the same height with foundations (and make stairs down to ores) then build 3-4 high wall araund the map edges to prevent your pals from exiting the circle and getting stuck. Also they love to climb your upgrade base decos, shipping container and pal lab thingy, so keep those away behind the wall so they cant reach it.
To each their own I have seen a gazillion setups the beauty of this game it's there is no "wrong way" people seem to have a great time playing the game kudos .
And the occasional manual sulfur mining seems to be enough for my daily killing spree unless you go John wick everyday
There's a decent spot that has both coal and ore in it. About 4 rocks each. I'll post the coordinates when I can
Is there a location with a large, flat surface area that would be ideal for a main base?
the base that I showed at the end my breeding base is the best flat open area I have found so far and it also cant be raided as a bonus
5:53 Even I made a time stamp of this location, Even if you have to run or fly all the way here its super worth it
Probably best base I started making in ages
I have one of my bases reserved as a on demand teleporter.
There is another location for the sulfur base. It is located near Jetragon. Safer for mining pals and helps you save time hunting Jetragon.
I wouldn't be surprised if with future updates, quartz becomes more critical to the point that a base for it is actually somewhat necessary. Given the number of quartz mining locations, it feels really underutilized currently.
Most likely once they fill the rest of the tech tree it will most likely be used more, Where right now its literally only used for 1 thing
i think having very few base spots to mine more than 1 resource, and none with more than 2 of the 4ish (ore, coal, sulfur, and quartz) is very deliberate along with the limited amount of bases.
i think it is designed to encourage contact between groups and individuals. perhaps you or your guild have no sulfur base but you have coal. you know of a guild or individual who does have sulfur, but no coal.
trade or conquest?
doesn't matter. contact is what matters.
How did you set the palbox on the metal structures? Too close to the lava and you start to burn but you cant put the palbox on anything but the ground or structure if its close enough to it.
just build the foundations higher and you can place the palbox ontop no problems
@@augiesaint they had to have hotfixed that i swear to you that was not possible a week ago. Lol
Wait, are you able to build over Lava? Cause I found a spot that would make a good breeding base cause it has access to all three egg hatching climates(-300, -530), but the Cold section is over water and the best I managed to do was get 6 tiles in that section at the very end of the building range. Rather odd if it lets you place foundations over lava, but not on water you can stand up in.
yeah I found that odd myself too I was trying to build over shallow water and it wouldnt allow it but over lava it does lol
can you make a video explaining the best pals for all three bases
I could work on somthing like that yeh
You do need quartz for the end game stuff and there is 2 locations for it
Is there a video for how you made the last one? I seen you have a video for the other two, the one for Coal/Ore helped me rebuild my base there, trying to move my Farming/Breeding base, keeps getting raided by lv38+ and most my Pals there are only around lv30 max so they just get incapacitated almost instantly. Not exactly the best at building, so my original base for Coal/Ore was a mess, accidentally destroyed it with a rocket launcher trying to grapple, your video helped me a lot in rebuilding it, would love to see more guides like it if you have any!
interesting haha and yeah I do plan on making a lot more build videos, but the last base in that vid is very flat and easy to build I did showcase it in my Breeding Guide since its that base there if you wanted to take a look, but can basically build it how ever you want just the location is nice and flat and open
Yea, my current base for breeding is on the beach inside a little cove like area East of you Starter Base video at 95, -525. It was my first original base, which honestly made things harder for me in the long run since all it had going was food farms lol.@@augiesaint
The lava doesnt burn you though? It's purely cosmetic?
Lava burns alot
I have a base just for breeding pals and a main base and another base for ore mining.
Everyone is being like "2 bases, 3rd Palbox for teleport" which I kinda get but it's also not expensive to just throw up a wood foundation, one wall, and a ceiling before tossing a bed down. Then hey, if you're farming the area you can use it again up until it deteriorates.
do you use pals at the sulfer base or just mine yourself? i liked the spot but my pals wanted to swim in the lava @@
I was using some Astagons to mine it and had no problem, just try building your platforms higer and over the first one or two sulfur nodes so that the lava is closed off all the way
tyvm that was a great help@@augiesaint
Is there only certain pals that will mine the coal? Because none of mine will mine it.
You need atleast mining lvl 2 for coal
Is there a way to set up a rock pit at the mining base? Seems like the pals prioritize the rock pit over the coal and ore deposits…
the best thing to do is to build a stonepit on a raised foundation that needs stairs to access it then once you want them to focus on the ores/coal just delete the stairs, and replace once u want them on rock again
@@augiesaint ah ok so no real way to have them both going at the same time.. thanks for the tip!
@augiesaint I actually just build or destroy the stone pit as needed because it's so cheap and it works the same
@@dogs-game-tooThis is exactly what I do!
My stonepit is full so I'll just grab it when needed and they won't touch it while it's full so
Is your base bigger than normal? Are the settings changed?
nope everything is the normal just have 20 pals instead of 15 to work in it
How do i get a 4th base?
They need to extend the range, and to add digging for underground bases and water bases.
There is a mod that gives u extended buildable range. Not sure exact how mutch but i think its around 40-50% more range.
Just asking for the console people, once we get full access will my progress be reset??
people say normally yeah reset. it will be big update
No one is talking about the flopie mountain fast travel base. Just north of the Elizabee boss fight. It's a huge flat land for breeding, it has 1 sulfur node at the bottom of the hill, a skill tree, 6+ ore in the back, and 1 coal/ore inside the base. That's literally the best base for early to mid game. It's also unraidable for some reason.
That sounds better than the lava base. I'm going to give that a try
@@niteglys forgot to mention the black marketer is also close by on the other side lol
North of the snow mountain there are also pretty large buildeable spots down there and for some reason no raids spawn there ever. Best part is that you have a short run to get quartz on top and then you just descend down to base to put it there.
Its a good spot for factory base more or less.
There's a merchant that sells the palgems
U dont need a base slot dedicated to Sulfur becouse the only thing Sulfur is used for in the game is gunpowder. If u could have more then just 3 bases then sure make 1 but for now with only 3 base locations available u can just mark Sulfur spots u find and manuelly mine them instead. Sulfur is very light for an ore type so u should easily be able to fully mine out a spot without going over your carry weight.
No need to even mine it, go to the lower leveled desert area and use a beakon with shockwave (or really any pal with an AOE) and take out flocs of tocotoco they drop gunpowder I thinks that far more effective and you skips steps to craft the gun powder
What about quartz?
How do you have 5 pal boxes?? Also, breeding 2 of the same pals creates the same pal?
im using 2 saves to demonstrate spots in the vids and yes if you breed 2 of the same pals you will get the same
me who only has 2 bases because the spare one I use to kill bosses, I'm level 34 and already got the anubis boss and jetragon captured. Not that I can use the jetragon. Kinda pointless now that I think about it. nvm, should have gone for a 3rd base to focus on breeding
Did they fix the bug where you dont get any ore when youre not at the second base?
No, im still suffering from this shit, none of my bases work when I'm not there.
@@Blannks thx for the info. this made me stop play the game
No issues on singleplayer
@@Blannkssame
you only need 2 working bases for ore and breeding purpose the 3rd base is for farming bosses
You only need like 1-2 miners, my sulfur and quartz base have 1-2 miners, then are full of wheat and 2 ranches for cats, so im making tons of money, wheat for cakes, and have manyfacturing for gunpowder and polymer/circuits, port over, grab all those, and go back to my main thats 3 breeding ranches/coal/ore and producing all the end of the line stuff; bullets/spheres...
Good ol' economics in action~
Industrial age unlocked :D
Everyone says you don't need quartz. Watch, in a major update or two, the need for quartz will dwarf the need for ore...
What more do you think they will add? The quartz is used for all the electric stuff but once you build those I can’t imagine what else they will add that will be useful and require more quartz. Maybe there will be another use for quartz? What do you think?
I highly doubt it will dwarf the need for ore but I do agree the need for quartz will increase, maybe to equal the need for sulfur or coal
There are only 4 good spots on map to set up a base and they are all in cold areas :D
the coal/ore base suggested in video, i have a base there but my pals keep falling off the fucking mountain, even if i put wall around
how did u get that katress hat tho :/
here you go :D czcams.com/video/wQam3DEar4I/video.html
What is ur health, stamina and weight bc it seems like u have alottttt of stamina dam
I recommend 1 base for breeding yes or yes to improve your strongest pals, 2 bases for full iron with coal. If you have your GODTOISE with passive skill 5 (mining level 4), because it removes 100+ damage each hit. So get the 9 sulfur minerals in 1 minute and keep them in the chest in the portal near the tower.
Blazamut
prob is there is so many players there is only that spot so when 1 get it all leave
100% do not need a sulfur base, you only need 5 -10 runs of mining a cluster of Sulphur nodes for a play through, not worth setting up a base.
Im early in the game how do you get multiple pal boxes
you need to keep leveling up your current palbox and eventually you will unlock the option to have more bases
@@augiesaint 👍🏿I have to bases but only one box
Just one ore base with coal. A breeding base and a production base is all u need
Im so sad, i just saw your vid and wanted to build a new base, but only to see all the bases you covered are already taken by another player 🥺
working on some new spots so soon TM xD
About 5000 videos showing the same ore base but they fail to realise there are multiple players to a server.
Dont need sulfur base
This is my plan, need more room for my genetic experiments
I use all the same bases already. This game needs to be more generous with resource locations because you get trapped in building all in the same spots because no where else is any good.
I just want 1 main base
I have been searching for the same thing myself, still looking for the ultimate spot to try and set one up
Put pals to breeding station is sooo much annoy!!!! I wish they will change or solve that problem soon😢
"ThE oNlY 3 bAsEs YoU'lL eVeR nEeD!" Shows 5 different bases.
Mining bases are worthless, pals are so fast at mining anyway, and much faster if you already have a breeding base. Just have a main flat base, a breeding base, and leave the 3rd one as teleporter for fast unloading, boss farming or whatever you want.
Maybe in the future when they add new islands, levels and stuff we might need truly insane amounts of something, but that's not gonna happen anytime soon
You lost me at sulfur, never used that once. Currency is a joke, can make 100k really quick just selling all the shit you get from catching pals. I wasted a lot of time trying to make maxed out vixys for great balls, turns out you can just buy em too 😭
Sulfur base is a complete waste.... dont do this
Disappointed. I was expecting more bass guitars in this video.
