- Today it is time for a road trip through Kenting and its most beautiful viewing points. Riding next to steep cliffs and mountainous ocean views, we pass by the Longshan Park, great ocean roads, Gangkou suspension bridge AND listed as one of the top spots in the world for seeing the sunset: Guanshan. This was really one of our favorite days in Taiwan so far...

Now I want to take a road trip around Taiwan.. I was born there but you guys have been to so many beautiful places that I've never been.
You should definitely go there when you get the chance. Where do you live now?
@@NaickKim California. For now I will just have to live vicariously through you guys. Eat more delicious food for me. Not sure if they are in season, but try out sugar apple 釋迦, logan 龍眼, lychee 荔枝. Some of my favorite fruits. Probably wouldn't make a good video, because eating them involves a lot of spitting out seeds, but they are worth trying off screen. Other snacks to try if you haven't already, wheel cakes 車輪餅 (custard filling is my favorite.. or some fancy shops have mochi or boba filling), mochi donuts (Mister Donut), taro mochi pastry 芋頭酥.. so many things, imma stop now :)

I remember growing up in the 90s. Whenever we were on a family road trip, more than often, touring spot like this sunset overlook would be like trash and litter everywhere. Somehow your video reminds me that we have outgrow that phase as a country dedicated to environment protection, and how beautiful this island is. Thank you for that.

Naick & Kim this island is full of hidden gems. 😅 Now I feel a bit guilty I didn’t take my friend to these places when she visited.
Long-Pan, which means Dragon Rock in Chinese, is my must-go place in Kenting. During monsoon season of Oct. ~ Apr. the howling wind coming up form the ocean is a stunning experience making me humble before the great nature.

I’m Taiwanese who love the mountains and the ocean (scuba!) but have been away for 20+ years. I echoed to what you said about Hawaii. I picked up the resemblance right away during my first visit there. If your schedule allows, please visit eastern part of Taiwan: Taroko, Green island and Orchid Island, and even the mountainous central Taiwan (CingJing). All perfect places for nature lovers. Thanks for sharing your trips.
we love scuba diving too! Unfortunately it is quite expensive here. But we are looking into diving on Green island maybe. We will definitely be exploring more of the east coast and some islands.

Thank you Naick & Kim for these wonderful videos. When our children were still young, our family traveled around the island twice, about a month each time. The natural landscape of Taiwan is really impressive so that we didn't want to end our journey! Follow your footprints again，the beautiful scenery in our memory is as if it was presented again!

關山日落! Guan-San sunset, is famous as a phrase, like 太麻里日出 Tai-ma-li (in Tai-Tung) sunrise or 阿里山日出 A-li-san (in Chia-yi) sunrise or 淡水日落 Tam-shui sunset. Thank you for sharing the video, the sunset with clouds is so beautiful!

If you have already arrived in Taidung, you should visit National Museum of Prehistory and Chiban area in the suburban of Taidung city which is famous for its hot spring and recreation park. Nowadays about one third of citizens in Taidung are indigenous people who belong to 6 tribes, speaking completely different languages and who are all Austronisean. There are two ways that connect Taidung and Hualian. Traveling through East Rift Valley is relatively comfortable while many westerners settle down along the East Coast High Way, especially in Dulan.

If you like the sunset, you really need to go to Jioufen, in northern Taiwan (where the Japanese animation movie Spirit Away was inspired) and in my humble opinion, the northeast seashore is the best kept secret of Taiwan coastline....
Sounds like a great tip. Maybe we should do a famous movie tour in Taiwan haha. Spirited Away, Life Of Pi, etc.
That ice cream truck doesn't smell right though hahaha. I'm surprised Guanshan's sunset is not on the top 10 list of Kenting travel spots. I thought it's quite well-known.

Please consider going to Penghu Islands or the Pescadores. You can snorkel 🐠 there, and the beaches 🏝 are very beautiful. Food is delicious 😋 and cheap too, especially little oysters and sea urchins!
