- Howard Ashman was the song writer and creative force behind Little Shop of Horrors and some of the greatest hits of the Disney Animation Renaissance: The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin. Oscar nominated film maker Don Hahn explore's Ashman's life and work in this follow up to his benchmark documentary Waking Sleeping Beauty.
Hey Howard Ashman fans. We've been working to get this documentary in a place where the biggest international audience can see it and we have been successful! STONE CIRCLE Don, will the Walt Disney Company play a part in this film’s distribution? If any studio deserves to release this film, it’s Disney, because that’s where most of Howard’s contributions were focused.

so what happened? this should be on Disney plus? Disney should at least acknowledge their audience and give some kind of expalanation or update about the film!

Maybe they should make a movie showing Howard getting recruited by Disney and making these movies while getting weaker due to his illness but not stopping his work as he's so committed. Sort of like the movie, "Saving Mr. Banks."

I absolutely loved Waking Sleeping Beauty. Can't wait to see this one! I hope some of the caricatures of Howard were included, because they were pretty funny!

I'm so hyped for this movie!! He was one of my biggest inspirations and I love his personality, fire and and use of logic against the people who don't believe in him and what he could write.

STONE CIRCLE Sorry somehow I just noticed this. I have watched your documentary Waking Sleeping Beauty so many times because that’s the only time that Howard was ever really talked about even if it was just briefly. It means a lot to me that you’re bringing his story to the screen since maybe now more people will know about him. It astounds me how one man can do so much work yet become forgotten overtime. I don’t take the term hero lightly, but he’s one of the few people that I hold on that pedestal after doing more research on him. So just thank you for helping bring his story back.

Thank you for this update! I love the buzz surrounding the clips and trailers. People really want to see this footage-beloved classics, a peek behind the curtain, nostalgia sweeping the world- and they want to learn about Howard Ashman. "Who is this guy that cowrote all these things I love?!"
