    If shooting doubles at the trap club, you want a wide spread for the first clay and a tighter one for the second, as the second clay will have traveled further and you need a tighter spread to nail it.

    I wanna tell once more the importance of the cutting oil on the reamer, if u dont use enough your reamer will wear super fast

    One barrel has usually a narrow shot pattern the other one a wider so you can somewhat chose for close range/wide range shot placement.

      In a hunting gun you better have two triggers to take full advantage of those different chokes. A single selective trigger won't be of any use when the birds start flying!

    Awesome. I didn't know about this. I was getting pissed that I couldn't find any double barrels without a ic coke or higher. Now I know I can get the gun I want and yoke the choke right out. I see no link to the tool thoe.

    A friend reamed the barrels, recessed and tapped threads for the multi chokes in his Belgian double about 30 years ago. He manufactured the chokes from 17.4PH ST. Steel. H1025 Cond. He had a lathe and mill but unfortunately died 5 years ago. I do not know where the gun went. or if he even still had it.

      If you're just want to open it up .005"-.010" a hone isn't a bad way to do it. Going from full to improved modified or modified isn't a big step.

    Any videos on how to drill and tap old shotguns to install a jebs turkey choke or kicks high flyer? Like threads for Browning invector plus, Remington threads

    • @jamesozment1
      @jamesozment1 Před 3 lety

      These old shotguns are not built for modern magnum or high brass loads . Some are black powder cartridges and modern shells would certainly ruin the gun. Best to buy a new shotgun for serious hunting and leave the ole collectables to the history buff gun nuts like me.

    Aww, thats unfortunate. I'm in the uk, and in all likeleyhood wouldn't be allowed anything with a removable magazine. My remington 1100 has had the magazine crimped to only hold 2, +1 in the chamber. I could very easily swage that crimp back out, and manufacture a mag extension to hold 10rounds like they have in the states, but I'm not going to because that would be illegal and I quite like being allowed to have shotguns legally. Even if they are restricted.

    plenty of semi autos already banned in canada up here under the reason"easily converted for full auto fire" ie the rcmp gives there resident gunsmith a blank gun and they say"you dont get paid till this is full auto but dont tell anyone how you did it ither" and this is all behind closed doors. the public is not allowed to see what "easily converted" is . thats what will happen when kids like jtdc86 become old enough for a gun

    Can you go the other way? I have an old skeet gun that is cylinder and cylinder. Is there a way of tightening them to say 1/2 and full or 1/4 and 3/4 for game shooting? Searched web but only seem to see stuff about reaming fixed or changing adjustable chokes

    • @63jeepj20
      @63jeepj20 Před 6 lety

      ShelsleySpecial not without taking it to a gunsmith or replacing the barrel. Removing metal, especially something that precision is very important, is much easier than taking metal away. I doubt they even make an insert of some sort for the simple fact that it could damage the barrel, injure someone, or be shot out and become an unpredictable projectile.

    There's all sorts of reasons why this cannot/should not be done. A Siaga 12 is based on an AK47 and can be modified to full-auto, and I believe "Sons of Guns" modified a Benelli M4 to be fully automatic. However under no circumstances should a private individual attempt it. It's very, very illegal in almost every country, and if too many people try it semi-autos will be outlawed too. If you're intent on hurting yourself and others you could attempt bump-firing. But I wouldnt recommend it.

      +eyad shurrab cut what? you can only cut the barrel so much because of the gas op system. the receiver would need al ew parts if cut so don't.
