Oh hell no, can't speak about my father he died when I was one. My mother worked, and her favorite saying was get outside and play. I lived at our local park and did what this kid is doing, all day long. It would have been awesome to have this in the house.
And even if we had the money, no one was crazy enough to spend $30K on turning the whole house into a playroom. "You better be in the house before the streetlights come on" is free! lol
You could do that in any basement for under $30 dollars. You could probably get a lot of the supplies from a Dollar Store or a Goodwill Store. You just need to use a little imagination.

WOW! He is blessed to have parents who are not over protective, and that allows him to be a kid. The lady who raised me never had a tolerance for unnecessary noise nor hyperactive play time. Just the opposite, She would tell me to sit down and play quietly. That means, sit and watch TV, Color/read a book. ect. One year for Christmas, I got a bike, But I was only allowed to ride it in the front yard. So since that was a boar, I just never rode it. Instead I'd spend most of my time in my bedroom laying on my bed, listening to my favorite music & thinking about my future goals. Suddenly she assumed I had become withdrawn & on top of that she kept calling me names like weirdo & retard, ect. Later she found my journal/ diary, After she read my future goals, She purposely tried to pulverize all of it, by telling me I'll never have what it takes to make it in the real world. Guess what? She was wrong. Young man, Enjoy your life while you can, And always thank God for your awesome parents who lets you be yourself.
This is how childhood needs to look like. Active, playing with stuff around you. Not sitting still, ignoring the world and staring at a screen. Theres still hope!
