This is correct as far as the steel piles being temp. They will be removed upon being finished. You should go check out state park peir. They are heading there next. Fun fact. Spring maid will be the longest on the east coast when completed. I used to work for the company that is building this.
When you walked on the old Springmaid Pier, because of it's wooden construction you could feel the waves underneath pressing against the pier. It was almost like it breathed with the ocean. Looking forward to checking out the new pier. Great video! Thanks!!

I talked to a forman last summer and of course ot varies but some of the piles go down over 300 feet till they reach bedrock

You're correct about the 2 piers!! I remember this from when they built Apache's pier.
