1:27 etc. What is that burning on the patio? Firefighters pour water on it but it keeps on burning.

Great job guys. Was wondering why the sprinkler system didn't go off? I thought all hi rises had them . I live on the 10th floor of a hi rise and we have them and my building was built over 30 years ago.

@@w8lftr I asked where you lived because building codes and fire codes vary by locale. Not until Local Law 100 of 1999 was Chapter 27 of the NYC Administrative Code (i.e., 1968 Building Code) amended to require sprinklers systems in "fire proof high rise multiple dwellings."
The law was passed in response to a fatal fire (4 fatalities) that became known as the "Macaulay Culkin Fire" which occurred on December 24, 1998 on the West Side of Manhattan. The fire apartment was on the 19th floor, but the victims were found in the public stairwell up on the 27th and 29th floors. Stairwells can become like a chimney flue where heat, smoke, and carbon monoxide (and other deadly products of combustion) accumulate. That's one reason why the FDNY wants residents to shelter in place *for fires in fireproof buildings.*
Anyway, the law is not retroactive. It only applies to new construction except where older buildings undergo major renovation...to the best of my knowledge. I hope this information clarifies things for you.

Nice scene footage. I was getting notified about this one! Was gunna scan but had other things to do. Glad you were there, knew you would hearing it was the 52nd battalion.

Haha, thanks! Yes 52 is my zone. But trying to widen out also... Was a good fire and a stubborn one too...

@@TheResponder It sure was! I noticed there was a lot of residual flames on the balcony, I guess from items left there
