We all need a friend like Alan in our life. This episode is the best look at what a true friend is. Alan would merry Denny so that he can make life-ending decisions for him. We all need to show some compassion like this to people we sometimes don't agree with. Toast to best friends.
This clip really made me think long and hard about the people that I have in my life. The sheer love and admiration these two men have for each other go beyond friendship. It is a symbiotic relationship in which the two have a spiritual connection. Each one knows what the other is doing or will be doing. It is wonderful to see it in action.

I applaud and agree with the being able to die with dignity. Hope if I ever get that bad off someone who loves me will do what needs to be done. I've lost 2 Grandfather's and my Pop to cancer it's hard to watch the ones you love so much just wither away. Miss my Pop everyday. Love you Pops!!!
I watched this as a kid and had no idea what it was, I was in awe over the friendship the two men seemed to have... the sort that is confident and is so from two individuals who seem to have a better grasp of manhood and masculinity and what it means to be a man in a profound manner that it doesn't deter them from showing and sharing affection in it's true form without falling prey to societal expectations of how a man should display and project affection to fellow men. This is a work of art that was buried deep in my subconscious that stumbling across it now just lights me up reminding me why I am the way I am and how I became what I am. I LOVE THIS!!!!! THANK YOU!
I love it. Unfortunately I’m living it now. I’m not Denny crane. I’m just Bill nobody I have mad cow and still no cure in a strange way. This helps me knowing that I got a loan. I have a good friend Mira well he doesn’t have a balcony, but he has a very nice patio and he shares with me. I can’t name respect his privacy very great guy and the song really sums it all up so I try to keep smiling. Keep trying to maybe one day, but not today keep smiling keep trying raise a tear to my eye every time I hear this, but it also lists my spirit, knowing
