"The Transfiguration and Cosmic Geography"
Cosmic geography according to the Deuteronomy 32 worldview is defined as spiritual beings being delegated to specific geographical regions of rulership or domains. Yahweh himself regulates this both for other spiritual beings and for Himself.
The Bible teaches these spiritual beings have rebelled. All nations are now ruled by rebellious spiritual beings. Although our Father is omnipresent He also has relegated himself to specific geographical areas such as the temple, tabernacle, Jesus and ultimately our bodies as believers.

Dr Heiser was taller than I expected from his videos! I'm 6'1" and I had to look up so he was at least 6'3".
It was always interesting to talk to him. I'm sad I never got a chance to know him better on a personal basis since the Wuhan scare interupted the in person classes for awhile but glad that I obeyed the call to move to Jacksonville to take his class and the opportunity to chat on occasion after class. I didn't know we wouldn't have so little time with him.
I appreciated his clarity of thought and ability to connect ideas into a coherent narrative.
Is he? Never heard him share how someone gets saved clearly. He only talks about aliens

Uh, sorry. At 7:59 Bird says the location doesn't matter. Dr. Heiser says it was Hermon and it was *that* mountain for a very specific reason. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION.
I agree with Heiser as well. But I like providing a multitude of voices so we can have balance. Chad Bird was on Dr. Heiser‘s podcast and they are in agreement on a lot of important doctorine. Let’s forgive him on this one point
Also I think more closely what he’s getting at is that the biblical narrative does not name the mountain specifically. Contextually and logically Dr. Heiser‘s assertion rings true. But we must also be true to the text to say that it does not name the mountain specifically✅🔔🙏🏻❤️
@ringthembells143 Forgive him for this one point. BUT. In context and Jesus' own words indicates Hermon. Is the gates of hell somewhere other than Hermon? No.
@@charliegirl42ify We are making a logical deduction and it seems to fit but there will always be people pushing back on making doctrine off connecting the dots no matter how compelling they may seem to you and me. The challenge is that the Bible wasn't written to us so the authors assumed their audiences were in on the context.
@philosophyze In this one thought I disagree with Dr. H. Unless I profoundly misunderstand Dr. H's meaning, I DO believe the Bible was written to us. If it was not, then there's no need to believe, no need to repent, no need to be pro-life, no need for a lot of things. We are outside of God's purview and influence.

It's amazing and faith-strengthening to see how you, Michael Heiser, Tim Mackie and NT Wright have discovered Eastern Orthodox theology completely independently of the Orthodox Church, yet winding up in the same place as the Orthodox Church, which preserves the original Christian doctrines. To put it another way, the messages of this channel (as far as I've heard it) are confirmed as right by the original Church!

I think it notable, too, that Peter means stone, James means supplanter or replacement, and John means Grace… putting their names together, we can see that stone (the Law) is replaced by Grace… further, when the disciples look up, Moses and Elijah are gone and the voice from heaven says this is my beloved son, hear Him (not them)… Consider Hebrews 8:13 in this context…
I don’t understand how cosmic geography can be true if the Tower of Babel wasn’t a real event.
Moses represents the Law. Elijah represents the Prophets. Jesus is the fulfillment of both, and that is why the Father says "Hear ye Him."
Someone said that "What if, when Moses was talking to God on Mt. Sinai, and when Elijah was speaking to God on Mt. Carmel, they were "outside of time," and speaking with Jesus on Mt. Hermon."

Any time in the old testament when Yahweh is seen,it is preincarnate Jesus. Heiser has videos on The Two Powers in Heaven which was Jewish doctrine until the early 2nd century when it was declared heresy. Why? Because too many Jews were converting because they believed He was the Visible YWHW incarnate. The Father was known as the Invisible YWHW,heard but never seen. Sometimes both speak in the same biblical scene. A Jewish rabbi scholar wrote a book about it in the '70's.

There is something I believe about this that shook me when I first heard it. Moses and Elija were not there in spirit. These are not ghosts. Jesus showed that he is timeless by connecting three moments in time into one place. Moses, unlike Elija, died. Yet here is seen IN a BODY. The resurrection of the dead has not happened so how could he be there physically unless this event was during his life.
”But Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, because you do not know the scriptures or the power of God! For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven. Now concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, who said, “I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob”? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living!” And when the crowds heard this, they were amazed at his teaching.“

Who is God exactly? Is it Yahweh? Or is Yahweh one of the lesser gods? Who is the 'Most High'?
I suspect that the "Two Witnesses " described in the Revelations are 'Moses and Elijah'. Even the supernatural things ascribed to them in the Revelations were the things supernatural that were described to have happened through them and their testimonies. Too many coincidences, also both in terms of 'water', Moses parting of the Red Sea and Elijah also doing with the river Jordan (of which John the Baptist baptizing "The Son of The Most High" and this in Spirit representing Elijah in preparing the way of The Lord!) And with 'fire', Moses with The Burning Bush and Elijah with 'fire' from heaven in both cases proving Who is The True Living GOD!
I’d bet on Enoch. Both Elija and Enoch both never died and it would make sense if they are the witnesses
Chad Bird states that the mountain location is not actually known and that it really doesn't matter therefore cosmic geography doesn't matter. Well, it does matter and also directly contradicts what Michael Heiser teaches and had written about in The Unseen Realm and Reversing Hermon. Maybe we should be a little more careful about how we combine our messages. The fact that the transfiguration took place on Mount Hermon is HUGE and is supported by other ancient Hebrew text.
Chad’s point is The Bible DOES NOT specifically name the mountain. It doesn’t ✅ The authors did that on purpose. I agree with Heiser on the location but the text is not specific. Since the text does not specifically name the mountain your rhetoric here is out of line. Chad Bird’s information is super valuable. Furthermore he was featured on Dr Heiser’s Naked Bible Podcast and they agree on a lot of very important doctrinal issues. Each author had the opportunity to specifically name the mountain, they didn’t. Again I believe like Michael Heiser that it was Mt Hermon but the text doesn’t specify or name the mountain specifically… if you don’t like it, there are many other options out there for you ✌️

@@ringthembells143 The Bible doesn't need to name the specific mountain location due to the fact that it was so commonly known among the Jewish Christian people of the second temple period that it didn't need to be mentioned. The fact that the event took place on Mt. Hermon holds the greatest level of the cosmic message that Jesus was putting on full display.

The Father is greater than I. Christ judges the earth. Yahweh judged the Gods and the heavens themselves. Are they unjust to inflict wrath? Of course not. How else could they judge? As Arjuna asked, what are the consequences of going to war? Like Job asking about suffering for no appararent reason, neither received an answer.
Arjuna becomes Job. Yahweh becomes the Ancient Serpent of Old. Christ becomes a worm. The Anceint Serpent of Old is Transfigured and revealed to be the Anceint One of Days. Adam wields the fiery sword on the day of vengeance as judgment and is revealed to be the Christ.
As the Lawless One, with all the power, signs, and wonders at the disposal of falsehood, and seeming to be a part of the workings of Satan, 2Thess 2:9-11, he leads them astray, as if with a bridle in the jaw of the people, on the day of the great slaughter, Is 30:25-28, having been given the power and rule, along with great authority of The Dragon as the First Beast/ Red Dragon, Rv 13:2, with seven heads and ten horns, Rv 12:3.
Just as it is appointed that human beings die - be judged - appear a second time, (so also Christ) …will return Heb 9:27-28 …as the (Red) Dragon (Demon Sin) stood before the woman about to give birth, to devour her child when she gave birth. (Rev 12:4 NABO)
And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord (Jesus) will (Transfigure) with the spirit of the sword of his mouth and render speechless by his glorious radiance (2Th 2:8). When he rises against the prince of princes, he shall be broken without a hand being raised. (Dan 8:25 NABO)

It was given the key for the passage to the Abyss. (Rev 9:1 NABO)

Its rider was named Death, and Hades accompanied him. (Rev 6:8 NABO)
I don’t know what doctrinal background you guys are from, but please, never display a picture of Jesus in unicorn colors again.
