Not to be rude, but we already have both. The U has one of the top student sections “The Muss” in the country and is a top ranked university in academics and it’s a Tier 1 research university. Not sure how picking a sports conference has anything to do with academics anyway.
Hey guys, y’all were the addition I wanted above anybody else. I have so much respect for UU and your football program. I can’t wait to go to games in SLC. I can’t wait for the Holy War to be in conference. I’m here for the Twitter beef, let’s keep that going as well. Welcome and Sic Em!

From a Jayhawk Fan Welcome. You knew a lot of the press wanted to ask about how it all went down but it was beautifully handled and loved the praise for the new conference members. Pretty sure you’re gonna pound us in Football and we’ll stomp you in Basketball and we’re all gonna have a great time.

As a Big XII fan, welcome. I thought President Randall was diplomatic yet open in his answers. I was very impressed. Mark Harlan made an excellent point that travel issues in the Big XII won't be any harder than in the Pac 12 other than West Virginia and UCF. In fact, the Big XII will have clusters of schools closer together than in the PAC.
Been to Morgantown in all seasons, those games are going to be insane.

One thing that needs to be said is that the Prez, AD, Coaches, Students, and Student Athletes, All staff, and fans are why we're all lucky enough to be in this situation. I love that we've been accepted to the BIG12. If Utah wouldve failed, or been lackluster in athletics and academia. We'd be on the outside looking in. Congrats.. So lucky to be a part of this move

I’m curious on this. Was there an option for Utah in the B1G or did the B1G not really want Utah given all the recent adds? Idk feel like Utes can compete well against recent adds to B1G Oregon, UCLA, USC
As a BYU fan, welcome to the BIGXII, I think you will like this conference. I like the schools in this conference, they work together and there is great mutual respect for what each of them bring. You and the other PAC12 teams will add to this conference and improve it. This is going to be fun.
As a Ute fan, I am excited about the BIG XII and to be able to revive the BYU - UTAH rivalry! I miss the yearly work-up of the 'Big Game' between out two schools! It will be fun to have 'The Rivalry' game back on our schedule. Good luck to BYU and UTAH in the BIG XII!!

As a Ute alum with a son currently enrolled, we look forward to actually being able to watch ALL the games on TV since PAC-12 made that difficult. But I’ll miss the rivalry vs Oregon.
As a tech fan i get it I loved playing Texas each year but things are still going to be fun. 5 years from now. Utah and tech won’t think about Oregon or Texas like we do now. I used to dislike a&m now I don’t even care what they do.

I think the Utah fan base is going to be pleasantly surprised by the level of enthusiasm and excitement that the Big12 has, not to mention the level of competition from top to bottom
As a long time member of the Big 12 and a little put off by ASU and Utah’s snobby view of the Big 12. I told myself the first words out of this guys mouth better be thank you. Pleasantly surprised.
I know Utah fans have said a bunch of negative stuff about the big 12 in the past. I think the Conor McGregor - "I want to take this chance to apologize..." video sums up perfectly how we all feel now as Ute Fans

As an alum and fan, happy to see UU in the Big 12. Utah, TCU, and BYU had some good games in MWC- should again. Plus a regular presence in TX should help recruiting.

@@kenstradling5398 You need to question Google on that one because I just use the text to voice through my Google pixel. No sense wasting time. I think the majority of iPhone people do not use that because it doesn't work well. The Google one works surprisingly well, but sometimes it messes up.

All Big 12 universities, except BYU and TCU are R1 research universities. They are not in the AAU because the research they do is not the variety that the AAU requires. So there is really not much difference academically. Utah is in the same general range as Kansas and Iowa State.
And lets not forget all of the National Rhodes, Marshall, Truman, Goldwater, and Udall scholars that we have had over the years.

Welcome to the conference (I guess I can say welcome to the slate, because there are a lot of tough games ahead for all of us). I think there is more parity in the B12 than in most conferences. UT and OU leaving might wind up being a blessing because they can't sign everyone, and neither can the SEC.

1. Why didn’t the PAC12 expand?
2. Why didn’t they go to market earlier?

Oh, btw after Kansas State came from the worst program in the country to beating Nebraska and then KU hung 76 points on the Cornhuskers it wasn't long before they left. K-State is over .500 in the last 10 years agsinst OU. They would rather lose to Bama and Georgia than the truckstop conference.
USC ran away. Their brand is in decline and will continue to decline in the B1G. You made a great move. Your brand will increase. You will be a regular in the cfp and the revenue will increase.
We are the conference of the middle class, the black and blue conference. Without the prima donnas we are extremely united.

@@davidvinson4613 Umm…top to bottom, the 12 cities in the new Big 12 are bigger than those in the 16 SEC schools WITH Norman and Austin included, collectively 1.5 x the total population of the SEC cities. Now let’s add in the 4 corners schools with Denver, SLC, Tucson, and Phoenix, comparing 16 to 16, and bump that up to 3.5 x the SEC’s population. Maybe the SEC is the truck stop league? Let’s see you call them that…
Utah needs to help Bret try to get the four remaining pac 12 schools to join big 12. Stanford and California are the problem the big 12 is better than mountain west I realize they think they academically better because they aau by the way Kansas is aau. TCU and Baylor are private colleges they have always had high standards in academics. If big 12 got the four remaining pac schools u can say pac and big merged this is still possible. of course the four remaining schools would have to take less money but big 12 could let them do deal with Apple for extra cash till 2030.

Why would they help those universities? They did absolutely nothing to help BYU get into the PAC 12 a decade ago. No they are in the conference ONLY for Utah.

What's the point of taking questions if you're unwilling or incapable of answering questions? It's annoying to waste everyone's time by repeatedly ignoring the questions--which represent what people really want to know--to ramble in platitudes is simply personal and institutional arrogance.
That's the way the world works my friend, it is what it is. No one is ever going to let all the tricks out of the bag during a press conference.
As an SEC guy how did the big12 let these ungrateful clowns come in to the conference with the full media money the other schools were getting. When Oregon and Washington left they were left for dead. Utah would have taken a huge pay cut to join the big12 and not be left to go back to the mountain west. Big screw up on behalf of the big12. This goes for asu as well.

Mens basketball I think saying middle of the pack is generous. Most women’s sports volleyball soccer and softball i think they will be just fine. Football haha well let’s just say I’m not worried. At all

As an Utah fan I agree GK and leadership were the worst. BY runs circles on GK now we can actually see our Utes on TV not trying to find a where in tf is the P12 network stuff lol. Also some day games are going to be a nice change as well.
