  • During Sanshin's 2024 three month ango (practice period), from April 1 - July 7, Esho Morimoto, an ordained student of Okumura Roshi, will be our shuso (head novice). She will be giving a series of 8 dharma talks on Sundays during this time, as well as taking on various responsibilities in the sangha. Her theme for the ango is "Studying the self/Self." Esho will be supporting our practice, and we will be supporting her growth as a leader.
Learn more about our 2024 ango with Esho here: www.sanshinji.org/ango-esho.html
Esho says: In this talk, we explore self/Self by examining how "way seeking mind" is leading us to the path of realization, how suffering can prompt way seeking mind and how understanding suffering can guide us on the way. Supplemental reading: "The four noble truths by Ajahn Sumedho - The first truth: There is suffering " P.1 - P.28 (www.buddhanet.net/pdf_file/4n...)
