    Needles are what you sew with, you are using pins to pin the material together.

    • @pelucitadered
      @pelucitadered Před 9 lety +2

      There are those who use the correct terminology and their instructions are purely awful because of too much talking and poor visuals. Doesn't matter what words Mellison used and if you really want to get technological about it, the correct word is "straight pins."

  • @hummerklein2567
    @hummerklein2567 Před 4 lety

    Pins not needles,
    Needles are what you sew with
    Pins are to hold material together you can’t sew with them
    But nicely done. I love it and the paper was brilliant examples

    what are the measurements for an XL?

  • @dyndor
    @dyndor Před 9 lety

    OK I am a total novice with sewing. would it be even better if you zig zag stitched and then ran a straight stitch right through the center or is that just a waist of time?

  • @riddlenovzemi6728
    @riddlenovzemi6728 Před 5 lety

    how long your fabric is?

  • @LorriCarnevale
    @LorriCarnevale Před 10 lety

    Your method is awesome! How wide does the scarf or material need to be?

    • @Mellison
      @Mellison  Před 10 lety +2

      The scarf I used was 27.5 inches wide x 72 inches long. If you have longer arms, I would suggest using fabric other than an a scarf so you can add a couple more inches and assure that it fits perfectly!

    Needles you sew with and pins do what they say pin please say it correctly as people who don't sew will be confused and by using y wrong thing they could hurt themselves it's a health and safety issue

  • @lynnmoser6918
    @lynnmoser6918 Před 5 lety +2

    Good video for a young person. Learn some terms and tools though...those are pins not needles. Needles are that with which you sew. Pins pin things together.

    • @imsewgood3935
      @imsewgood3935 Před 4 lety +1

      LynnMoser thanks for pointing out the fact that she was calling pins needles, it was driving me crazy. She did a great job on her kimono. I would have sewn another seam about a quarter of an inch in from the zig zag stitch.
