No, Starbucks isn’t charging customers more for light or no ice

Starbucks lets you customize your drink however you’d like. Some people like to request light or no ice, to get more bang for their buck. But several viral social media posts claim Starbucks just started charging customers an extra buck to skimp on the ice. VERIFY viewer Sarah texted us to ask if that’s true. Here’s what we learned:

I was at Starbucks this evening with my family and I was absolutely told that there is an upcharge of $1 for light ice. I cancelled that drink ordered my wife an iced coffee and won't be ordering again. After a chat session with a Starbucks agent I was given the same party line that they don't charge for light ice but apparently in practice that's not the case.
