- In this video we get anther flight in on the SAB RAW 580 on Vbar. This heli is my favorite and only gets better with every flight. I almost crashed it! That’s why it’s important to also fly that thing till it hits. You can recover at any time!

The way you fly this heli is the reason we want to be able to watch the stick movements too. This is the pattern I want to perfect.
Thank you! Yes, on newer videos I will try and get a few with stick cam. I film a lot of videos in a day or two so I can’t fly or get to film you guys always have videos to watch.

Thank you! You always gotta be ready. Unlike alot of people I’m not afraid to show my mistakes and I’m not perfect and crash too! It’s a very difficult hobby and everyone crashes from time to time!

Almost crashing doesn’t seem to affect your confidence Jeff! Or am i wrong? Good thing you managed to upload in high res! Much sharper!
Because each Crash avoiding instinctively will strengthen your confidence in your muscle memory.
At least that's how I feel when it happens to me.😀
But.. When the heli ends up in pieces on the ground it's another story😅
It does not affect my confidence or do I let it bother me and I continue flying. The only time I get down is when I crash them lol thank you! I’ve been trying for weeks now to upload in higher resolution I’ve even been filming in 4K I had a setting that wasn’t turned on to upload higher than 1080 but I still can’t upload higher than 1440 for some reason.

@@westhobbiesrc8051 hey mate I need some help, I'm setting up a RS4 venom with the Evo and Vcontrol and it doesn't seem to matter what I adjust I can't get the tail throw limits anywhere close to each other, left side is 84 and right is 38 (servo is normal Direction) looking online it should be both 80+
@@Zillawill so don’t worry about getting them equal. People will say they have to be equal but! Some helis have a bad design tail and you will never get them equal. Not saying the RS4 tail is bad but it’s definitely not symmetrical on the throw.

connected feeling you get every time with the cgy 760r. It truly is a miracle fbl. The only fbl Thats universally awesome out of the box and on any heli.
I’m personally not a fan of futaba from past experience it I’ve flown the CGY 760 and it’s definitely a good FBL but i prefer Vbar over it for a few reasons.

thats cool different strokes for different folks. I flew vbar for years all the way to the vtouch radio and neo. Had some helis with brain, skookum etc. I love the cyclic on vbar but the tail never did it for me, always too soft no matter what. Buddy let me try his 760r on the 14sg and I was hooked. went out and bought a new 16iz super and 3 760r gyros and they all fly incredibly well with the tail so sharp it moves the ground on stops......lol
But you didn’t! Good flying, brother. I can’t decide between the Raw 580 or the Kraken 580 for my next bird. I already have all the electronics. Been mulling it over for a while.
Kraken looks cooler but I went Raw myself
@@Zillawill Right. That’s my dilemma. I already have a Piuma, and it shares some parts with both birds. I will probably go with the Kraken in the end, just because I like the look of it.
I’d go Kraken for calmer scale/ 3d flight. Raw for more intense flight.
Full size servos on either. I went mini and one failed, caused a crash.
@@Ryan-uu4tw I actually bought full size servos and the adapters. The Piuma is already pretty tame. That’s another reason why I’m having trouble deciding. I don’t suppose I’d HAVE to fly more relaxed with the Kraken. 💁🏻♂️
Both models are great! I personally prefer the RAW over the kraken. They fly very similar to each other, but the Kraken does fly a bit on the heavier side. In hard tail maneuvers, you can definitely feel the full fuselage. But if you already have the Piuma then get the kraken. I prefer mini servos on 6s 580s. Plenty strong enough and lighter.
I'm seeing lots of posts about issues with vbar recently, maybe firmware issues I don't know. I've also seen lots of posts with changing the gimbals. I thought the vbar gimbals would be hight end hall effect gimbals, am I wrong? Not that I can afford a vbar anyway and my granny flying style doesn't warrent me spending that much.

So I personally haven’t had any issues or anybody that I know has not had issues. A lot of the problems are coming from those radiomaster gumballs that everybody is putting in the transmitter. Vcontrol looks for a checklist as it boots up and if it doesn’t see the potentiometers in the gimbals it does not allow the radio to work, personally, I don’t care about hall affect gimbals I have them on some radios and I can’t tell a single difference between stock gimbals and hall effect I won’t be changing mine over to them.
Where is that field? Man there's not many spots to fly by me anymore. Every place that use to be an empty field a few years ago is now condos.
This field is owned by a local church here in Tennessee. They farm the land out and I got permission to fly there whenever I want. A lot of land is being sold and they are building.

I hope this is not a negative comment. However, you reviewed a helicopter that made me scratch my head as a matter fact you’re teaching are that we should discontinue using stabilization as soon as possible and fly like the real heli pilots so much so that you owe me a helicopter 😅, the moment I disc continued stabilization flight you know what happened
My complaint is that you reviewed a GPS helicopter which this place is a pilot in the observation seat as opposed to piloting don’t bring those spectator gadget to us anymore
Not a negative comment at all! I appreciate the support! Yes, I have said it in other videos prior that it is a curse and a blessing all at the same time. Stability. GPS, all of that can help and hurt more. It doesn’t teach you the micro movements of correction that you need when flying helicopters. I’m actually filming a video on why GPS instability is bad. A lot of product reviews and these videos are for the people that are in the market for that particular product. They are definitely not for everybody.

what blades are you running on the 580? i have a kraken 580 on 6s and was looking at the rotortech ultimate's but not sure what length would be best for 6s?
I’m glad things videos have inspired you! That is the whole goal with this channel. I’m running RTU 580s on this one. If you want to run 610s you need to change the motor pulley one or two teeth lower.

Really? Flown a compass? Or a synergy 696 or a Thunder Tiger E700? All those would smack that little 580… but an original Protos 500 would kill that.
Do you own a RAW 580? Yes, I have flown and built almost every helicopter on the market and that has been on the market in the last 20+ years.
