- Let us take you inside two new restaurants in Las Vegas. Zippy's has been an institution in Hawaii with over 22 locations. Now Las Vegas gets to partake in this culinary gem. Whataburger has delighted folks from Florida to Texas in it's 70 year history, but now Las Vegas is in on the action. One bite of their classic burger and you'll find yourself saying, "Wow! What a burger!"

You can't compare Whataburger to any other burger. The burger's are phenomenal! If you don't want another burger after eating one, if wasn't a good Whataburger. No matter how many times you wash your hands, you should still smell it hours later. Next time try the all time favorites menu. If the A1 steakhouse is on it, get it! The honey bbq chicken sandwich is awesome. Don't forget to try the onion rings and malts. And I know you don't like spicy, but get the spicy ketchup with the black top. It just has some jalapeno and black pepper in it. It's the only ketchup I can eat! Thank God they started selling it in grocery stores. 😁👍
Being a Texas man and my love for our local favorite, I do agree with you about the plain Jane burger. The patty melt and sweet and spicy burger get better reviews. Thanks for sharing sir

In N Out has a slightly better burger, but the fries are much better at Whataburger.
Loco Moco is one of the best dishes on earth.

As a Texan, some Whatabuger restaurants are good as the others. Since I lived in Fort Worth. For me...their own chicken sandwich and Dr. Pepper milkshake.
But, the best part from Whatabuger is the Spicy Ketchup! Its tastes better with the burgers and fries.

I love going to Zippy's when I'm in that area. I love getting their chili and would go there and just get that with some rice. I do love their pac meal and their chili moco (still need to try their regular Loco moco). For Whataburger I thought it was pretty good. I would love to do a full comparison between them and In n Out burger. I would love to see them expand off the Strip. Just having the Strip location kinda pushes me away from going there since I don't like going onto the Strip unless I have to.

By the way, they will make the burger to your liking. Keep that in mind.
That is true! You can customize your burger. The food was good. The location is a bit difficult for locals to get to. Hopefully they’ll expand beyond the Las Vegas strip!
You can customize at in n out too. Whattabooger is trash and I'm from Texas!

I'm from Texas, and I've never been that impressed with Whataburger! I much prefer In-N-Out and wish they would put more locations in Houston! We've been coming to Vegas for about 20 years, 4-5 times each year, and your videos are always on the mark with the places we've eaten at! Look forward to them every week!!
In and Out is crap. They put a half a head of lettuce in the bun to hide the miniscule hamburger patty
It’s pretty interesting the mixed reviews I’m getting about Whataburger. It’s more interesting that reviews from current or former Texans are mixed as well because some folks and even friends of mine swear by Whataburger.

@ExploreVegas Keep Bulking Up Flynn. WahataBurget is big in Texas. But they're all over the place now. If you ever go, try the Patty Melt, with gilled onions 🌰.

I really wish Whataburger would open somewhere off strip
We went to Zippy and it was a huge let down. Almost everything tasted bland and cold. The only good thing at Zippy was their fried chicken. It was probably the best fried chicken I've ever had. But at almost $5 per piece , I don't think it was worth it.
I felt it was overdone for the strip. Maybe if they had location locally, it could be better.
Onion rings at Whataburger are good and usually greasy. Remember you can order your hamburger anyway you want it (if they have the ingredient)
That all looks good, but for the prices of Zippy's I'd rather truck down to Jerry's Nugget for their prime rib! Have you ever reviewed that place? It's not a buffet, but the food is spectacular, and we are kind of running out of buffets in this town.
Haven’t been to Jerry’s Nugget yet, but will have to try it out sometime!
When Whataburger is good it is great. Lived in Corpus and eating a Whataburger at the Ocean driv locatio wa as good as it gets.

You need to try the patty melt and a shake Whataburger is the best

Lived on island of Oahu all my life..Zippy's is not like before in the old days. Their fried chicken is hit or miss. Some times it's overcooked hard and dry. Pretty sure they sell old day old cooked chicken. You can use it for hockey pucks.

Nice review as always! But I think I'll stick to White Castle for fast food on my yearly vacation in Vegas! Whataburger is no big thing and Zippys is just eah. Its like the In n Out craze by the Flamingo. If you don't eat the fries immediately they are like eating cardboard!! And the burgers are just okay. Upside is that nothing is frozen..
That’s one of the upsides to Whataburger as well. Their burgers are fresh not frozen.
I hear you with the “craze.” This is definitely something you see around Vegas. Some folks just like some places because they are currently popular.
The fries from In N Out are pretty blah but they are good if you give them another blast at home in the oven or air fryer. Some people order their fries underdone to do that.
You can also revive any cold fries by pressing them with heat, e.g. in a waffle or panini press.
Honestly, not going out of my way for any chain restaurant... Love loco moco (that;s why I have bkfast at South pt buffet, lol)... Not a fan of burgers in general at fast food places (even In/out)... now if there was a Nations Burger in LV, that might be another story... EV jr shows to be an excellent judge of the food (except for the desert), aka disinterest... lol...
I agree with you in that I typically don’t go out of my way for chain restaurants.

I went to both opening week. Zippys was OK imo. Lots of solid Hawaiian spots in Vegas. Whattaburger was nothing special imo, burger king is better and thats not saying much 🤣
We enjoyed Zippy’s. Whataburger felt like it was showing off for Vegas. Wonder if I’d feel differently at a different location.

@@LASaddict I usually don’t get crazy over Hawaiian food. I felt this was a little better than some of the other places around town. My guess is that some folks who are Hawaiian food fans or from Hawaii are super excited this place is here.
As a Texan, some bugers are different from each Whatabuger restaurant. But, the burgers is better when you put the secret sauce....Spicy Katchup!
Anyway my favorite from Whatabuger is Chicken Sandwich and Dr. Pepper milkshake!

The only thing we ate that seemed basic was the macaroni salad. Everything else was fabulous and theprices were reasonable.

I agree! I love whataburger with the buns toasted on both sides. In and Out wasn't bad but it was just like lots of other burgers I've tried. Okay.
I don’t mind the objection Skarlett. The one thing about this location that I struggled with is that they as the bars and drinking inside. I don’t feel it was a true representation of the chain. It was a “Vegas” representation of the chain. I hope they expand into the local neighborhoods in Vegas. I feel like it may be different.
ZIPPYS is the best! You can skip Whataburger and go to IN and Out Burger instead.
