Micro engraved Lincoln penny by hand

- In this video im engraving Lincoln penny from 1951. I find engraving this particular coin very challenging because of its size and softness of material. Coin itself is too small for me to transfer design therefore i must draw ornaments directly on coins surface.
I start with waxing the coin and drawing rough design with pencil, if im satisfied with looks, I scribe the lines with polished metal point.
Once I have all lines scribed i use Lindsay Carbalt 110 degree V point graver to cut out patter, I remove the background with same tool and for larger surfaces dental drill comes very hand to remove background fast.
Shading lines are also done with 110 degree V point.
I used black printmaking ink to fill engraved lines and background.

I'm in love with this kind of work. So unique and special.
Completely mesmerizing!
I wouldn't even begin to know how and even if I did, I'd constantly gouge the coin, screwing up all my hard work!
Excellent work!

Nice work!
Awesome work and video presentation!
I really like your design.
I have a question if you do not mind, what kind of black ink do you use?thanks
Very enjoyable to watch :)
Thanks!
Will you sent me a purchase link for the tip you are using? Thank you love your work
According to the youtube algorithm, this will become a viral video ten years from now.
You should name the video "setting up to engrave a penny" only the last 3 minutes are engraving.
Thank you for sharing! What is the name of the clay(?) that holds the penny so I can order some. Thanks!
Nice work! Is it a small ball bur of 0.3 mm that you use to remove the background?
It was 0.5,but i ground it to needle point and sharpened in shape like flat screw driver
Freakin awesome. How many hours did this take and how many spent on the Panerai case restoration? I work as a digital artist. Cant imagine not having an undo button
Nice work 👍🏻 what ink did you use
I MANDATE that all U.S. currency take coin form, and it be engraved like this.
Please tell me what tools did you use?
Anyone know what stand/clamp they're using?
Looks like a GRS positioning vise.
What is that block to hold the coins ?
Thermo-loc
use newspaper to wipe the coin. works waay better.
What is the stuff you use at 1:14?
