How Good Was Gilbert Arenas Actually? - Sport
Richard Jefferson once said "If you wanna know how good gilbert was just ask him" sums it up lol
Gilbert is not shy about how good he was... but Richard Jefferson is basically confirming that what Gilbert says is true.
Richard Jefferson is also known as a little bit of a hater. Makes me think that RJ may have been the victim of a few of Gilbert's infamous pranks.
But he also clearly respected GA's game.
🤣🤣🤣
@@ignoblesavage5559 y’all need to understand the difference between competitive shit talk and being a hater.
@@ignoblesavage5559 RJ and Gil are close friends. RJ was playing but also serious because Gil will tell you just how good he was and he doesn't even have to exaggerate.
Agent 0 was such a killer on the court man, his shot was so deadly
In the locker room too
He was always killed in the first round too
@@LoL-gu4cl I always love how people with no skill of their own bags on people that was one of the best in the world at the time at their craft. Sure he was no Jordan or Kobe, alot of "Greats" u can name over him. He didn't make it out of the 1st round in the "NBA Playoffs" u say, u didn't make it out of your 1st practice in high school. I'll take his career over yours all day & I don't know you at all or what u do but that's the point lmao. Made alot of $$ doin somethin he loved & was really good at it. Guess he should've bagged groceries instead.
@@thetruth8182 ok 👍

I was a huge Celtics fan 07-10 age 12-15.
Gilbert and the Wizards always came to Boston ready to play during the Big 3 Celtics Era. He turned the Wizards into a competitive team and he became arguably a rival of Kobe.
He wasn’t on the cover of NBA Live 08 for no reason
He was never even close to a rival of Kobe, he was a challenge to Kobe but far from a rival.
They couldn't get over the cavs.
@@user-ou5pm6gn9j I’m sure Kobe took it personal for the rest of Gilbert’s career when he dropped 60 on him. I’m sure in Kobe’s eyes he was a rival.
Nah ur a nut hugger. Kobe was great but he was just an allstar with shaq on his team in a great franchise. Quit nut hugging kobe I saw him out played many time by other players let alone his team. Ur probably like 14
@@user-ou5pm6gn9jnigga torched the lakers for 60 pretty sure kobe took him for a rival.
I really liked those Gold Wizard jerseys
Same
Me too
My favorite till this day.
I really wanna see them go back to blue and gold
@@eski_truv those were good too
Lightning quick with unlimited range. Wish he hadn't missed a couple years due to injury. He was just entering his prime and we never got to see him at his very best. By the time he came back, he was a shell of who he used to be.
Well, that's life. I mean at least he got paid handsomely. IT never had the chance. He got used by Boston and spitted out when he's no longer of any use to them. But I think even if he wasn't injured he may have been out of the NBA because of his off court antics. I mean he nearly shot someone.
@@romeomonteverde that was one incident. If Jarvis wasn't there then he'd probably still be a wizard. Tho he'd still be a shell of who he was
@@romeomonteverde I'm mean kinda a homer when it comes to DC but Gilbert was just Gilbert. Yes he did bring guns into a locker room but Jarvis is who took it to where it went. Even with that I never saw Gilbert as anything more the a dude who was trying to have fun. There wasn't any real ill when Gilbert brought in guns. Especially when dude said he'd shoot him. That's why gilbert tried to give him one of his own. Yes it was in poor taste but, it's not like john wall who had a "thug" label coming into DC. I dont believe many people saw Gilbert like they did John. Even after the gun incident. Because he never had a history of it. It was all just a bad joke.
His prime was short. He was old by age 28. But he was a beast for a while
He was not lightning quick. Lmao.
There's joking around and then there's taking it too far...Arenas is the classic example of "do i really need to do this?"
😂😂😂
Gilbert Arenas will always be my favorite basketball player. I loved watching him play back in the day.
His coach didn’t threaten him to not play. Gil wasn’t playing at the high school he was at this new coach saw him playing and told him to transfer then he told Gilbert how he was gonna be an nba player and that’s when the 6 am workout started. He talks about it on the knuckleheads podcast
yep! And to add to that, the HS coach at his 1st school said he'd never play varsity, which was another reason he started training like crazy.
Kawhi Leonard: “I’m a fun guy”
Gilbert Arenas: *chuckles*, please.
It crazy because everyone involved said they didn’t pull guns on each other. Gil had someone put the guns on his teammates seat and said pick one and you can use it (they were unloaded). Gilbert never touched the guns only writing a letter telling him to pick one jokingly. Crittenton pulled his own gun saying he had one, and tossed it and it hit the foot of a trainer. There wasn’t a fight or anything. The trainer told that there was guns. Gilbert got suspended only because he was doing the taunt with the trigger fingers. The nba didn’t suspend him for the guns. This isn’t the first time players had guns on team property.
Crazy other bull really locked up now
Why don't other races behave like us consistently?
One of the best scoring point guards of all time
THE best one. He changed the perception and ushered the new era. Some goofy injury messed up his growth
@@realjcoop182 I love Agent zero one of my favorite players of all time...not better than A.I or a prime penny also Nash could be considered a scoring pg and he's better than Arenas as well.....and Curry is better than all of them.
@@gabrielcurry457 Nash was not a scoring guard lol. He was a pass first point, but your final statement was correct.
At one point he was very briefly
Lol where he at on the list?
He's the first player I saw to wear number Zero maybe the pioneer of it and the best to ever wear it
Westbrook?
@@jordansmith6600
prime arenus > prime westbrook
Olden Polynice.
Robert Parrish of the Boston Celtics back in the Larry Bird days. Parrish was their centre and he was darn good too.

This might just be the best sports-related channel on CZcams. Keep up the awesome work, guys! 👏🏻
Great video I’ve been waiting for this one
Second hardest worker of his era. Only second to Kobe. Dude was a BEAST
And he beat Kobe!
He dropped 60 on Kobe
Kobe just had better teammate
@@michaelkkrasting Big Balls
@@user-bm9cv9vn2k nuts 😜
This man was LIKE that period, only for a limited time but he was buckets and could do whatever he wanted on the court whenever he desired
The guy said "even Kwame Brown looked good playing with him" LMAO!!..
The disrespect 😂 bro made it to the league he had to be tough
The only thing that stopped Gilbert Arenas from being top 20 all time was Gilbert Arenas.
Sincerely,
A die hard wizards fan
You have the best videos appreciate it fr
he had 3 great seasons. at his peak he was up there with AI and LeBron in scoring. a joy to watch in-person. he always seemed upbeat, great attitude. he hasn't been out of the league long, but imo many new heads ignore how great of a scorer he was
I think he's an even greater what-if than penny hardaway tbh.. dude was a nightmare offensively.. wrong mindset overall tho from a team perspective esp as a PG
Very well done. Thanks!
Went to Grant High school with him, what a baller
he was a legend in la city san fernando valley history
I’m so glad that this video was uploaded
Agent 0 was unbelievable 🔥
That James Harden comparison was a good one… never thought of that.
Stylistically they were very different. Gil was lightning fast and strong. Gil was more explosive and required less dribbles to get his shot off or to get where he wanted to be on the court. Also Gil could play off the ball you could play him with Antonio Daniels or Steve Blake being the primary ball handler.
They were similar in how they drew fouls though.
love your vids!
Would’ve loved to hear about the KSU recruiting. Still a great vid
Never actually seen the initial injury! Great video!
He stated it was during practice. He left due to being late and came back and started playing without warming up well. He stated that's his biggest regret.
I know I say this a lot but what about what about “how good was dirk nowitzki actually?”
Everyone already know that, top 20 players of all time
My man was pullin up from three and the locker room
Agent Zero was the 🐐 in his prime!
Sure
🤣🤣🤣
Whatever makes you happy lol
😂😂😂😂😂
I'm sure he doesn't mean it literally, he was probably saying he was Goated in his prime
Gilbert seems like a care-free, petty spirit lmao. Need to be more like him sometimes.
finally.. someone who draws the real picture of gilbert arenas. good job
He was a cat, leopard, panther. Smooth. Visibly more athletic. That was his gift.
I’m glad to see this cause I seen way too many people disrespect Gilbert Arenas
So good that several basketball stadiums were named after him.
"I want to be an international pimp"
This is the funniest thing I've ever heard.
I met Gilbert Arenas when I was 4, at least that’s what my parents say, I don’t remember it but I did
I met Elvis when I was 4 that's what my parents say
He is the Basketball version of Balotelli
Nah bc Balotelli squandered a lot of his prime. Agent Zero was wild and goofy but we got to see him be an absolute stud. I don’t think we ever saw Balotelli’s full potential
The best in any field in life are the ones not trying to prove anything, fit in and enjoy what they do more than anyone. Thanks for sharing. A real star
Even the origin of his number is petty lol Gil is a real one
😂 Dude was an internet troll way before he ever had a podcast.
I remember the Bulls playing against the Wizards in the playoffs in 07 I think and Agent 0 torching the Bulls repeatedly. The only opposing player I really feared when the Bulls were in the playoffs.
In then Derrick rose came and it all went down hill for the wizards 😂😂😂.
They didn't play each other in 2007 playoffs bulls played Miami in 1st round 2007 in wizards played cavaliers 1round in 2007 in lost that series u talking about 2005 when bulls vs wizards in 1st round in wizards won that series in 6 games
@Michael McCain Ok my mistake. I knew it was somewhere in there lol. Agent 0 was a bad man!
@@thebigone6071 hell yeah I miss him playing bro he was a walking bucket
This guy was/is criminally underrated.
Best Wizard/Bullet of all time, sadly. - a long time wizards fan.
I loved those gold jerseys with black shorts.
💡FOR THE YOUNGIN's ☝ He was the "Kyrie Irving" b4 Kyrie Irving type of player on and off the court
Yea right, yaw be exaggerating, Kyrie is one & only with his handles..
That Was My Dude....Solid
Thanks for watching Gil's Arena
Please do How good Brandon Roy actually was
If he would’ve stayed in GoldenState he would’ve been with the WeBelieve Warriors and who knows how far they’d have gone ... Could they have beat the Lakers or Spurs ??
No
They had Davis then Curry, and both this era has nothing competitive in team. There are no reasons to stay there. But, if he would left to LAC...so i never became Wizards fan. I mean it is what it is:) He needed more descipline and i'm sure he could create his own legacy on the level of Kobe.
Very great
Tbh a bigger strong quicker version of Dame
🤣🤣
James Smith nah what he said is accurate.
60 on Kobe is crazy
I loved his athleticism and wished he stayed with the dubs. At least we got some guy named Curry later on 🤣
Yeah, but before curry, Monte...
i always play him in. 2K 🔥🔥
Agent. Zero was a matchup nightmare,
You should do how good was magic Johnson actually
“How Good was Luis Scola” next?
trash
Who? Exactly
Fam that’s a name I haven’t heard in the NBA in a long time! 😂 so many fucking guys who were role players or decent that I remember 😂😂😂
Can you do Luis scola next please btw best videos ever
*how bad was Luis scola*
Luis scola lmao
Haven’t seen that name in awhile
He had 6 out of 12 good seasons in the NBA, 1 of those really good, and 2 years he was among the elite.
3:00 - 3:20
i'm literally LOLing i love this guy

A prototype of the modern player today
2k10 vibes I remember playing with curry he was on the bench that year
Him and Caron Butler
U can’t mean steph cause he was a starter
@@crisclay2678 no tf he wasn’t in 2k10 he was a backup to monte Ellis

LMAO when it started with "Gilbert was know to be a prankster" all I can think about was the bring my handgun to practice prank Gil did 😅🤣😂
when russ retires you should do the rise and fall of him
Injuries made his peak short... but for three years he terrorized the NBA.💯💯💯
he was that archetype of bully guards... big, fast and can shoot the lights out,
plus he got that great ethic because he was a 2nd rounder and manage to get allstar status|
only the gun issue made his career fall off
Before curry time Gilbert was just as deadly from the 3” 💯
I mean no, but ok.
"Curry Time"? Bot Boy
@@Jb-du5xt yes, actually
Mr levine love my jumper its a shame i havent made the 1st cut
My favorite player as a kid!
Gil's arena in the building!!!!
If he had a good team around, I really do think he would've won a couple championships and would've given Kobe a run for his money
for few seasons he was on level with tmac, kobe, iverson, lbj, dirk and pierce scoring wise! before injuries!
Arenas was basically James Harden with a little less great handles. If he played today he'd be unstoppable. He was before his time.
he is like john wall, but below demar derozan
He was DOPE!!!
Day 13 how good was chauncey billups actually
Gilly Gilly Gun Gun
My favorite player
Agent 0 is the GOAT!! My favorite player growing up!! He would have DOMINATED in todays game
He dropped 60 on Kobe, his generation’s MJ, and won the game. That’s how good he was.
Agent zero was hard but agent 12 is abysmal. Shout-out Lexie and Gil for being a good sport though 😂
Damn its like John Wall and Agent 0 has the same story career.
Some people missed the wrong era a decade too early n unfortunately my man the nba live legend Gilbert Arenas
Agent Zero was 🥶 🥶🥶🥶
I always forget how old andre iguodala is lmao @4:46
Yall heard what he said...INTERNATIONAL PIMP! 😂
He was a right handed harden. Step back 3s,.blow bys fot euro step layups, and lots of pick n rolls.
Gilbert was the perfect blend of kobe's work ethic and allen iverson's heart. I just feel like basketball wasn't number one in his life. He just used it as an outlet for his extreme type a personality.
It was definitely #1 when he played he lived in the gym
You can always watch his podcast to get further insight
If he had Kobe like work ethic then basketball should of been his main thing or did he get hurt or something
@@khaliekmason7006 he did get hurt . And then didn’t take the injury recovery seriously and never came back the same watch his podcast bro
All the talent in the world....... Said that coming out of Arizona. should have been a lot of repick
His nickname was Agent 0.....that good!!!!
Here’s a question tho… is Jae Crowder a HOF candidate?
😂😂😂😂😂
Is Tony Allen A HOF candidate?
Is Channing Frye a hall of fame candidate?
Bang bang he shot me down
4:46 Igudala looks like he forgot to take a shit before the game LOL
make t-mac please
So basically Gilbert is crazy
top 5 SG in nba history if not, top 10 for a FACT
Bruh before he was gunning down locker room he was a flamethrower.
Also during the 2000-2010 it was not the normal that players would score over 28 ppg unlike players would do now. Arenas could definitely thrive in today's nba.
Agent 0 was legit. Dude gave no fucks but was a killer
