Didn't grow up an Avengers fan but I finally read the Kree-Skrull War about two years ago and really enjoyed it. It was definitely a product of its time but still a lot of fun. I don't have any early Avengers omnis but they're certainly on my someday list. Great review as always, Omar.
I love the 70's and 80's artwork much more than the stuff that gets made today. Am I alone?

These reviews are great and are getting me excited for vol 5. I must admit I like the old spines with the larger font titles. Not sure why they went so small.
I've taken this opportunity to order all 4 Avengers reprints along with v5. I enjoy the classic Marvel era from the 60 to the 90s. I wonder if The Crossing will ever be reprinted!

Fabulous run of comics, but do I upgrade from my Masterworks?
I have the original printing, but all the other volumes I own (or about to own) have the updated covers, so why not get this one to match it? This is a great volume, prime Avengers, great John and Buscema art, plus early BWS. Nothing but positive things to say about this volume.
I greatly look forward to assembling these omnis and reading through the classic era

Miss the old Donnelly binding days paper I can live with the binding needs improving
the change of spine still makes no sense to me, same for uncanny x-men.

@@grahamodom2819 see that’s funny you mention that. I see people talk about how important that story is and how they hype it up but I wasn’t impressed at all. It didn’t even feel that epic. Yes there was a big war going on but the avengers were basically just running around in space, not fighting in a war. There was some issues with great art but the story was just okay to me and didn’t seem as important as many make it out to me in my opinion.

I’ve got all of the first 3 omnibus in Marvel Masterworks and I’ve ordered vol 4 in omnibus to continue the run but I’m still feeling FOMO by not ordering these first 3 new volumes

I just cant seem to get into the avengers comics. I tried but they just ain't my squad.
A great run (in my opinion) is the Steve Englehart run. He started with 105 and went up until 150 and plotted 151 and 152, with some fill-ins here and there. But if it’s not your thing, I respect your opinion.
