Lieke Martens is something else in this Barcelona team, I have to say. She participated in almost all Barça goals in this final. Such a young talented winner always eager for titles. I remember the important role she played throughout the Dutch national team at the 2017 Euro, especially in the final match against Denmark. Big fan here

The Barcelona team is just superior. They've already won their league with 8 games remaining for them, 4 being games in hand. 26 wins out of 26 games in their league, 128 goals, 5 conceded. They are really a force and they deserved to win with that dominant performance also.
There has to be a reasoning for this honestly, is this just a golden generation or what ? I’ve never heard of a women’s team being so incredibly dominant that over the course of a la liga season they only conceded 5 goals and then absolutely stomp and win the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE final in the first 40 minutes of a match they showed two highlights of the second half, one feeble shot, and the final whistle blowing, it’s honestly mind blowing

The Chelsea men made it to the FA Cup finals, control their own fate for top 4, and in a couple weeks are playing in the UCL finals. If the men finish Top 4 and win UCL, then Chelsea men & women had an incredible year.
Who else in Europe should have their spirits as high other than Man City? Barcelona won women's UCL, but their men's team is in shambles. Definitely not RM, Juve, PSG, Liverpool, Tottenham, Man Utd or Arsenal.

Barca mens got knocked out of the UCL in Round of 16 after getting destroyed by PSG and they're going to finish 3rd or 4th in La Liga.
In their past 5 La Liga matches, they choked away a great chance to win the league with losses at home to Celta Vigo and Granada, tying Atletico Madrid at home and tying Levante. They had the perfect schedule remaining, 5 weak teams and a match at home against the league leaders.
As long as Chelsea finishes 3rd or 4th in EPL and qualifies for UCL or wins the UCL, they've had a waaaaaaaay better season than Barcelona.

Pernille Harder in Wolfsburg and Pernille Harder in Chelsea, are two different players. In Wolfsburg she was sensational. In Chelsea she's disastrous. Its brutal to watch. Chelsea has downplayed her consistently and are now reaping the consequences.

Chelsea ladies won two cups this season and progressed to the finals is a huge achievement as well. Barcelona were mauled by Lyon in 2019 in the first half. They learned from that lesson and utilized it against Chelsea. I hope Chelsea ladies bounces back stronger., but again they did have a good season. This experience in the final of Champions League will do them good in the future. I do feel for Emma Hayes, she dedicated thousands if hours behind this team for a stage like this. Then tomorrow its her son’s third birthday. She would have loved a winner’s medal but a silver medal for now isnt bad. This shows my belief in this Chelsea women’s team.

Doesn't matter tbh. Getting to the final meant we had a chance. I think every team needs a measure of luck on their side to win a final. Take your chances, half chances or even quarter chances and fight till the last whistle. Also hope that VAR is kind to you. Imagine if Harder's chances had gone in, and that unfortunate own goal was not how it started for Chelsea.

Her name is Lieke Martens.She's Dutch and won with the Netherlands the EC titel in 2017.
Lieke martens has been world class for some 5 years now especially when holland won the euro championship and she was voted player of the tournament. Even in this superior talented barcelona team she still stands out and she's still only 28.

Chelsea's defence was so badly exposed, especiallly the fullbacks. I just don't knw what went wrong. They weren't really outplayed, but then every Barca attack looked lyk it'd be another goal.
Two of the best women teams I've seen over the course of this season to be fair. Very hard for chelsea to have such a tough first half after many good performances this season

We did get a lot of chances and really big chances. Pernille harder got some really big chances as well. When you don’t take the chances you regret it later. It wasn’t as dominating as the scores show. One was a lucky own goal and one shouldn’t have been a pen. But congratulations Barcelona. And well done to Chelsea as well.
