- Florida's oldest antique mall is it's newest antique mall! Janet's Antiques is resurrected in this episode. I'm cramming my booth full of fresh stock as new dealers and seasoned veterans replenish this wonderful vintage venue that almost went by the wayside just a few months ago.
We meet the proprietor, who's coming out of retirement to make it possible for this terrific antique destination to find new life! Her fascinating story is making our story here last longer, and my response is to pack in a plethora of vintage lamps and lighting, sculpture and wall art, fab 50s dinnerware and art deco design into my space. Everything old is new again, and we check out my booth while wandering through to see what new vendors are bringing to sell!
"Wow!" is all I can say to some of the mall's new additions...Adrian Pearsall and Arne Jacobsen chairs, beautiful Blenko and vivacious Viking Glass, art deco pottery and art prints from modern masters are just a few of the new offerings in this refreshingly revived antique venue. Vintage George Nelson lamps, Lane furniture, a case full of Italian art glass and oddities from a seismograph to a floating ship's compass are making this the go-to place again for antiques and vintage in Saint Petersburg-and along Florida's Gulf Coast. Sales are already great, and we'll be back to see how it grows!

Today I am a very happy thrift store shopper. I bought an authentic Kate Spade purse, beautiful blue and black and nice hardware, for $15. Only had to shop at the bins for five years to find it.
Lol that's dedication but it does pay off to go back and know a store!

I watched Janet's match with Matina. Wow! What a great match and she was in the middle of the ladies growth in sports that was so difficult. That “pixie “ lamp at the start of video is Italian from the 1960’s - part of the Fantasy movement- usually the lamps are sold in sets of male and female and they are carved wood. There are also many different faces - the one in this video seems French inspired they were usually shown with Adrian Persal furniture- Green Acres chic- love your journeys! 🌬️🍭

I've become a HUGE fan! And I"m especially happy I watched this video. Hanging from the ceiling in your booth I think I caught a glimpse of reverse painted light fixture in a golden-tan. It rings so nicely when flicked with you finger. I had this lamp
in my dining area in northern NY! And I've always regretted selling it for a song. (sigh) Could you pretty-please tell me the cost of this lamp, with a photo (in case I've misidentified it).

Good evening, George. I liked the dark crucifix that was on the wall. Loved that chalkware figural floor lamp. Janet is incredibly interesting! One of those Vogue picture discs looked like it had Mae West on it. That stained glass floor lamp was fantastic. The piece you have in your booth, with the chess pieces on it, really interested me. Your space looks really great! That mall is fantastic! The prices were really good, too. Thanks for taking on a tour!

I think the pottery is called that after a town in Mexico and the name has an accent over the last a in Spanish. Pretty sure George is correct on this.
Hi there and thank you, I’m glad you enjoy the videos and I often mispronounce words so it’s always okay to say! In this case, Americans do emphasize the middle syllable, which is acceptable, but in Mexico the accent is on the last syllable and I learned that when I was down there.
