I have suffered a great loss in life. No joke. I'm finally getting back my personality, my sense of humor, and my daydreaming old fun self again. The euphoria from the first few doses of Adderall is unmatched, it's all downhill from there.

I have adhd to the max. I can't even describe the urge to comment with out watching this video in its entirety because I'm furiously excited as to how much I can relate to this. It gives you confidence, makes you feel normal sometimes. I abuse it, I'm addicted to it. I run out and feel useless and have serious self esteem issues. Always leaves me wishing we lived in a simpler time, one where I don't have bills, need to check emails, sit down and listen to authority all the time. Like the guy said in the beginning. I'm a hunter, my focus can only be on the hunt of something I want. Like food, I seek novelty, my mind thinks about what it wants to think about. Its something a person with good discipline to understand because they think everything is freewill, and that you get to decide what you accomplish and what you don't. Other times people just think you're fucking stupid when you just don't have the patience to sit and learn. Adderall fixes this but creates a multitude of other problems.

Fulfillment comes from so many different experiences and it’s not wrong to compare what others have accomplished, but don’t let it give less meaning to the things in your life less fortunate people wouldn’t take for granted. Don’t worry man, you’ve come this far and you have a lot of life ahead of you. You have the ability to wake up tomorrow and change so many aspects of your life. People look at people with ADD like there is something "wrong" with them that needs to be "fixed". There are a lot of different factors to consider when analyzing someone's behavior and brain function. I have a lot of ADD tendencies, but I've never been tested because my parents didn't think there was anything "wrong" with me. They understood that I learned differently, focused differently, acted a little differently, etc. They accepted that and helped me according to how I functioned. I have a way easier time focusing when I'm interested in something or when I'm good at something. They knew that, so they made sure they supported me in those things and encouraged me at what I was good at. My sister is great at sitting in one spot, school work, reading, focusing for extended periods of time, but I'm not. We are different and that's ok. I appreciate that my parents didn't try to diagnose me and get me on medication to make me more normal or like my sister. They just helped me be myself.

That led to a 4 year addiction until I just stopped cold turkey and never went back to the doc. At some point you realize...being high on amphetamines is not...you. I had to quit. But my God was it awesome for several years. Loved that stuff. The focus and energy was so powerful for someone like me. Im not hyperactive. Im the opposite. So getting that amphetamine boost was another side of life for me. But at some point I just had to stop.

I took adderall from a buddy to help me study for a qualification exam in finance. I mean from the moment i took it (IR 20mg) you feel this wave of euphoric confidence just swallow your whole body. It's crazy, its pretty comparable to blow, the need to talk, the confidence, the activity, the brain function. Its all very similar. One can become extremely addicted. I didn't, the lack of sleep and appetite didnt really make the balance worth it. It helped with work and DEFINITELY with studying. Like if you have a big exam coming up, getting your hands on it will work a world of difference. It's really a wonder drug for introverts TBH. My practice exam scores went from like 55% avg up to 75%+ avg in a matter of a week. You literally remember everything, it was like 6 hours after my exam and I could remember word-for-word the questions on the test. It's pretty awesome. Be careful though, those with addictive personalities might take a negative turn. Only downside was the awful insomnia and no desire to eat. My appetite would be suppressed for almost 24 hours. Solid drug though. Hope this helps anyone thinking about using it.

Andrew previously stated his early videos were never easy and affected him. It was after significantly reducing his consumption that Andrew and others could more genuinely enjoy himself for who he is.

I think Andrew is one of the best youtubers out there because he's real. He doesn't edit out the ums, he doesnt beg you to like and subscribe at the end of every video. I've never said it before, but I think Andrew's videos are the most like a "friend" because of this. People love to say their friends with the huge vloggers because they know all the intimate parts of their life, but let's be honest, they're just another fan. With Andrew, even tho we're all just fans, I feel like this level of realism that he maintains with his audience makes for some really authentic and genuine content, so keep it up!

This video was insanely interesting to me because my experience with Adderall is the exact opposite. I was diagnosed with ADD in about 4th grade after visiting a psychologist. I had always been kind of an energetic and funny kid. Then I started taking Adderall and it made me feel dead inside. I became extremely reserved and developed a dull personality. By 7th grade I stopped taking it because I hated it so much. After I stopped taking it I noticed a huge change in my personality. I was more energetic and outgoing, always making jokes, I became the funny kid again. Freshman year in high school I was a quiet kid, pretty reserved, and I think a little anxious. Currently I'm 18, a freshman in college, and have a 4.0GPA and working at the same time. Instead of having trouble with studying and focusing in school, I now believe I have developed social anxiety and slight depression. I'm not a psychologist and don't have any scientific research, but I believe Adderall was a big contributor to my current mental state. I know several other people and some friends who have had a similar experience with Adderall. I don't think it's for everyone, and I think it is being wrongly prescribed to thousands of people. This theory would also help explain why there has been such a large jump in anxiety and depression within the last decade or so. Adderall is beneficial to many, but I think more research needs to be done on the long-term effects in has on the brain.

    • @myhops
      @myhops Před 7 lety +3

WTF Adderall for a 4th grader?!?! This world is fucked. Kids are supposed to be spontaneous and random, not lifeless and dull. I find it disgusting how these drugs are marketed to parents and kids. You are still young, and the brain makes substantial changes to it's structure every 2 years, so with a healthy lifestyle and counselling (Your campus most likely has counselling) I think you can heal your brain and mind and bring out the brighter you in less time than you think.
First year of College can be tough though, and most people do suffer from anxiety. I think it is mainly the transition from high-school from seeing the same friends every day to just a few mates here and there on campus. My tip from personal experience would be to link up with some old friends that you had fun times with. Even if it has been a long time, or you might feel like a nuisance, they will probably appreciate it. Counselling also helps because you get to open up to a person who can give you an alternate perspective of your life.

I don't really care about if people use it, I've used it a few times to get through tough assignments last minute (I would say at most 10 times in my life) the only issue I would say I have is that at times I noticed it made some assignments a little unfair... My only source of addie was a friend who got prescribed solely to sell it, so I couldn't afford to buy it very often, and could never convince my parents to let me get tested (I definitely don't have add, and I feel like most people don't, at least not enough to need to be prescribed) but I often saw people getting copious amounts of work done because they were constantly abusing it. So then you have kids like me turning in projects that were not bad by any means, being judged against projects done by a kid who doesn't have add being aided by adderall. I know at least half of the people I've ever had in any of my classes have abused it to some degree (and that includes just about every straight a student, to a higher degree).

When I got off of it (due to lack of sleep and my appetite being nonexistent) on top of it not helping, I suddenly didn't know how to function. I was angry. I was irritable, sad. I had no idea that I was detoxing during this period either. Needless to say, taking medical meth isn't that good.

It helped my mind open a gate to another way of thinking in a way. Its hard to explain but adderall fucking changed my life in a big way and ill always be thankful for it. I never got addicted or dependent on addy in fact i havent taken addy in 5-6 months, while being able to keep the lessons/ way of thinking from when i did take it. idk maybe its just my crazy experience but ill never regret trying it.

Cant lie I'm kind of let down. First let me say the editing was great, good music choice, nice shots. But personally I was hoping for a more of an objective POV on this and something more from you. A lot of this was your friends talking about what they thought of it and that's great but we only really needed 1 or 2 of those clips. It's not like they're authorities on the topic (heck one of the guys says that himself).
Personally I would have enjoyed it a lot more if you spoke in it more and gave more information. Something like: how much you were taking each day, when you'd take it, what the comedown was like, etc. And an important one: what recently in your life made you kick it it? So many questions left unanswered and instead all we got were a lot of like minded opinions from your friends who seemed to share the general opinion that adderall is over prescribed and that the drug aint good for your health. Show us something we don't know. Show us more of you.
This feels like a cop out.

I could get to my points and solve problems without my normal distractions, but at a price. would solve most of the usual set backs caused by my personality, but at a price. the price? gave me a whole new set of issues I wasn't familiar with controlling. like knowing when to shut up, since I'm usually extremely reserved. getting to sleep when I needed to. but the worst, the dependency. the psychological withdraws are rough. depression, zero energy, and zero focus.. you also build up a tolerance very quickly.

    A.D.D. - Attention Deficit Disorder
A deficit in attention to whom? To what? To when? It's all relative. It's usually noticed by teachers in school, but sitting down and listening to someone talk for hours is highly unnatural for human beings to be doing constantly, daily, for years. I'm pretty certain I could be diagnosed with it, but I don't want to be stuck at attention so constantly and so long. I like sporadic thought, it just needs to be harnessed and most of the time it's best harnessed in the arts, one of the most neglected subjects in public schools.
