I remember the days when it was so packed you really couldn’t avoid bumping into people. Ahhhh the good old days.

The mall does still get packed, but since he went on a week day, which was on a Friday, most people are still working but one the weekend hits everyone is there especially the strip mall that's across the street from the mall but I do remember how the mall used to look when I was a kid and having there sitting areas and sculptures

I'm glad we still have Woodfield. Growing up in Mount Prospect, we always went to either Woodfield or Randhurst. Randhurst is unrecognizable, but Woodfield is still going strong.

with every mall seemingly closing down, I am astonished how this one is still going strong during this day and age

Wow I haven’t been to this mall in a loooong time. Plenty of stores still open so it must be doing well.

Thanks for uploading this. I grew up going to this mall. The Vans store used to be in a different, much bigger location and it housed a mini halfpipe ramp in a cage that you could pay to skate in. My mom paid for me to skate in it when I was about 11 back in 2003.

This mall is so big and beautiful and has a unique design and layout but what's with the carpet upstairs it would look more upscale with shiny new travertine floors. Perhaps update the flooring but other that this mall has such greater potential. Thanks for the tour.

Nice to see Claire's Boutique still there! Used to love that store! Nice to see old friends! (Stores!😁) Did they redo those floors? They look different from what they were in 80's. Those elevators used to be just clear glass! Such a shame, they look totally different now! Frankly, so, does the mall. But it's a nice video! Thanks for some memories, and especially for not talking during the video! 🥰 It's nice just hearing the mall sounds in general! Haven't been here since the early 90's. 🥺 Glad it's still busy, even during a weekday! What a shame! They converted the carpeted sitting area by Macy's , into a play area! What'd they convert the fish tunnel area into? Thanks for this! I was happy to see a bunch of stores still there from my teen years in the 89's! But of course, I didn't recognize about half of them! This was great! 😘

This video randomly popped up in my feed. It's Saturday around 4pm and it's about 55min from my house in the city right by soldier field. It's definitely far from Chicago. Imagine weekdays where rush hour is all day until about 7pm. Century Mall on the north side is trying to make a comeback and water tower will probably turn into an office building.

I bought a garage door opener for my parents at the Woodfield Mall Sears in the 90s. I exited the wrong door and ended up schlepping the beast half way around the mall. I don't know what it is about malls -- I'm not really a 'shopper' and I generally don't like crowds -- but I miss those places. Around here all of the malls have either closed or are on the brink of closing.
